[IGN] 40 minute Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain demo 1080p60 - 6/18 at 5 AM PST

Yeah but E3 is not over yet, let's hope MGSV gets more because it definitely deserves more.

MGSV always looked like it had much better gameplay than those other two games for the past two E3's, so I don't really place much importance on them.

Seriously whoever couldn't see that the Order had bad gameplay right from the start is blind , also Evolve had some of the worst business practices I've seen when it comes to DLC.

The most exciting thing in that demo, was the moment I realized, that you can take your time. Slowly analyze every enemy. Circle the building from afar, plan what to do, make contingency plans ... and then fuck up everything because of some unforseen variable, still somehow make it and then a glorious escape where everything explodes.

I hope thats a thing in this game

Fucking this, man. You get this! I love love LOVE the idea of coming in from a distance, scoping out the territory, making your approach and planning the mission out in real time. The world is not completely empty. Just because the mission starts off and primarily takes place in a dune doesn't make the world completely empty. There's a lot going on with wildlife, weather, smaller scattered bases, etc. I don't know what more you want, a huge NYC block with people walking around all day? So much shit goes down in that ONE tiny little base, and that's incredible!

You guys are aaaaaaaaaaalright.

If you don't have all day to play these expansive games, you should be able to skip past the difficult parts, put it on super easy or enter a cheat code or something, why the hell would you be okay with paying to see content you already bought in the first place? Sorry I think that's beyond crazy. You buy a ticket for a rollercoaster ride, then find out you don't have the time to do it, but hey you can pay extra to skip it, wtfff.
I'm thinking you're speaking for me and are not the person getting nickle and dimed here

(or you're an actual whale, in which case gg Konami)

That's not fair to the people who DO put the time in. If something requires a lot of work and dedication to see or achieve in game, if you let people see it for free it lessens the incentive for anyone to work hard for it. If you charge people there's at least some sort of "penalty" to those skipping the line in the eyes of the dedicated.

Why do you think that because I have concerns it automatically means I do not understand it or don't know how to play it? lol
If you are referring to exploiting enemy then I know you can still do that bu tit's not really the same thing.

I just hope the game has enough weird stuff for gaemplay, there is in story but I want some in gameplay too :p

It's exciting, because most Metal Gear games have encounters that feel more like puzzles than infiltration missions. This time around we get to choose the direction of approach and our chosen method and watch the various systems react accordingly. Reading about being able to send a chopper to another base and essentially pull all the soldiers away from the base you want to infiltrate just illustrates the possibilities.

I've never been more hyped for a game, it's an evolution of my favorite genre, and this looks to blow open the possibilities. Its a sandbox i can't wait to dive into

This game looks sooooo good both visually and in terms of gameplay.

Can't wait to fulton everything that isn't nailed to the ground, and if it is I will fulton the nails, then the object and then the ground!

This looks like an open world game done right, but that's not what I want from Metal Gear. Hopefully it's closer to old Metal Gear games in structure and not just a stealth Assassin's Creed.

These blood blobs...lol

Those are old timey film burns. But you'd know that if you weren't an uncouth animal.

D. Walker seems like the "Very Easy" buddy option.

Very Easy--D.Walker
Easy--D.D.
Medium--Quiet
Hard--Horse

It seems like they designed the buddies in tiers. I'd imagine the horse would offer the least amount of support.

Game Plays by Itself--Ocelot

Make it happen, please.

can't spell ignorant without IGN.

dead.

Also, did anyone notice how there's 'Alert level : high' displayed on the Idroid when BB calls the chopper at the end of the video? Possibly meaning that the alert level is high bc the player didn't destroy radio towers and enemies could call for back-up from other bases?

Wonder how many alert levels there'll be. Just high and low, low as in limited to the base you're in?

WOW that walker thing is too awesome. I didn't watch every second of the video so as not to spoil everything, but that is just too cool.

Are they showing MGO at E3 or they just focusing on MGSV?

I'm starting to wonder if MGO will be like GTO... almost MMO like. Each of us have a custom army, custom character, and can work together on missions or grief each other in the open.

Not sure if I want that or not... I miss MGO from MGS4, honestly...

Man, once they showed in the video that you could even start missions as any mother base member it made me a little bummed that there isn't any co-op like Peacewalker. Still though....holy shit the game is looking great. So many options!

The more I watch it, it seems like buddies kinda ruin any difficulty to find in the game. The need to full recon an area before making your move is made unnecessary with 2 or 3 of them. Kind of a strange move to make IMO. Guess I'll just have to stick with the horse.

you are not forced to use buddies. Can go in solo if you want

Or you know, you don't have to use the buddy system at all. DD search is basically sonar ping but establishes guard from animal, and Walker basically uses the Binocular function from it's vantage point so you don't have to.

You know how when they demo Dark Souls at conventions, the player has like 4x as much health as he should? It's probably like that. If it's like Peace Walker, a lot of the OP stuff won't be available until late game.

It's not. It a regular online mode like MGO2.

You have to consider that the demo probably was probably set to easy and had god mode enabled.

assuming the health values havent changed from GZ, they have definitely upped thhe health values.

The missions should get more difficult as you progress.

Well I have to say that was the actual first time I have ever gotten excited over a metal gear game...

Truely amazing folks and worth the watch.

I love the fact we can play our MB staff members again, we probably play the ones assigned to combat and I'm assuming it's just for Free Roam and most Side-Ops missions.

Imagine defending MB from other players with D-Walker, so cool.

Man, those menus are SLEEK.
And it looks like fultons aren't unlimited anymore. Nice.
And it looks like the game got a graphics upgrade too.
AND Afghanistan looks huge in this demo. I already knew it was gonna be big, but for whatever reason it looked really big to me in this demo.
Game of the generation.

Every time they demo one of these, certain things are already leveled up pretty high. These are most likely how they perform later in the game after you upgrade features on each of the buddies. This is the way it worked in peace walker for a lot of the gear. At the beginning, it's pretty rough, but after you get through it all and grind for some of the upgrades, you start to get pretty god tier just so you can go have fun on all the previous missions.

Apologies if it's been covered elsewhere but if you choose to play a mission as a different character, do you get different voice audio as well? For giving orders to the dog, etc. Would be weird to play as a different soldier and still get Big Boss's voice.

It's probably generic dialogue for each gender or just subtitles because I think PW did the same thing when it came to playing as other soldiers.

I'm guessing they probably won't have voices. Or actually maybe they will because MGO characters have voices.
