Xbox One adds Xbox 360 backwards compatibility

Are you 100% certain that the gamertag you're using is the one that owned the game on the 360? Does it say you own it on xbox.com?

I've only ever owned one. But going on Xbox.com has it at $9.99 still...but I played it this morning on my 360.

Huh...going onto xbox.com if I put in Mass Effect and Super Meat Boy (the two I have working), it says "THANKS FOR BUYING" when I click purchase. But Perfect Dark still has the price and I can buy it.

What could be causing this? I wonder if it's because my account used to be Canadian and now it's American and the license switch screwed up something...hmm..

Grrrrr
So Meat Boy works (but my cloud save doesn't :( and Mass Effect worked.

But no matter what, Perfect Dark doesn't recognize it. I even booted it up and updated it on the 360 this morning. Put my save into the cloud and everything.

Anyone else have this "Bundle Only" thing and solve t?

Also anyone here have Banjo yet so I can add you and download it?

Also, anyone here ayes Banjo Kazooie or Tooie recently so I can follow them? (:

I played Banjo Kazooie the other day.
Can you look at my games and find the link to download it from there?

They even have Store pages for 360 games already set up. You can Pin, Rate, view description, see who's streaming that game on Twitch, view some screenshots, and the dev info, too. Also, when you're watching someone stream the game in the Twitch app, if you own the game, you can click Play from within the app and it takes you to the game :)

It's perfectly integrated as if it were always there. :D

What you're describing is fucking incredible.

It is staggering to think of how many little things that I take for granted with the XB1 OS, are suddenly made that much more awesome when you realize every single little feature of the XB1 OS is usable with 360 games.

My friend and I do the gameshare thing for xbox one games...looks like it works for digital 360 games as well. Pretty cool. Viva Pinata and Battleblock theater showed up for me, and I specifically remember not getting them when they were free

Trying now...

I can't look at your games, but you look at the popular games of your frends...

Banjo works! Thanks a lot :)

How do you tell if you own the games? Just wanting to see what i have...

You used to be able to see your download history, which would have games as a separate section before the redesign. Not sure if you can still do that though now. If you're just trying to check an individual title, then it'll just state already purchased on the game's page.

Interesting, thanks.

That sounds OK. I just hope it works better than the 360s backwards compatibility. My original Xbox copy of Mercenaries always crashed whenever I tried to play it, and that was a supported title.

The key difference folks seem to still forget here is that the individual games aren't being worked on like last gen. The work went into the emulator. Not the game. As far as the game is concerned, its being played on a 360. So the issues that cropped up so often with OG -> 360 theoretically should never happen with 360 -> One.

Not sure what's going on...I'm 99% certain that I had Banjo before Perfect Dark and Banjo works fine. :/

Is there a place to see all of your games on Xbox.com?

(EDIT)
Downloading BattleBlock Theater and Defense Grid as well.

Trying to get to the bottom of this PD thing.

Music to my ears. This all sounds really well done.

They really knocked it out of the park. I'm working on a little video showing just how far you can take this feature already ;)

Not yet, but there is a button for "Bundle Only" in place of where the "Buy" button would normally be if you don't own it. If you do own it, that button says "Play" in the store.. But you can buy them from the website and they show up on the console.

You are owning the digital version or disc?

Digital. Did they release a physical Perfect Dark (not zero)?

(EDIT)
In chat, he said that some games are region specific and that could be my issue. It also affected my DOOM 1 (not 2) and Duke 3D purchases as well...

Due to licensing and the fact that MS pulled the game out of the 360 marketplace, I doubt that will be coming unfortunately.

That would affect new purchases of UMvC3, sure.

But using already purchased copies? This excuse doesn't apply. The game, its DLC, and all patches still exist on MS servers and are available for download if any owners delete any content. It's not gone.

It probably does apply unfortunately. They still need to provide you with a modified executable in order for it to work on the Xbox One. Essentially they're not giving you the exact same product you bought, and so they likely need permission to distribute it.

Not if they got to get the publishers approval to allow it. That's where the messy part begins as Capcom may say yes; however, whoever has the marvel license now (can't remember who has it), may object and say no.

While I'm solving this, does anyone have PDZ and Vivia Pinata TiP in their previously played? I'd like to grab them real quick, too!

HOLY SHIT actually... going by this logic, shouldn't Outrun Online Arcade not really be an issue?

Interested to hear if this works for anyone else that isn't in the preview program (and apologies if it has been reported, haven't seen it anywhere yet).

Note: I've asked for an invite in the preview thread, but haven't yet received a message or app to join the xbox one preview program.

I was able to access the BC 360 games on my Xbox One by doing the following:

1. Find a user who has played a BC 360 game on their XB1 (Major Nelson has Mass Effect in his list for example).
2. Make sure you are following them as a friend.
3. Go to your Friends tab on the xbox one dash and go to the 'Popular with friends' section
4. Find the 360 game and click into it
5. You should then have view in store, install etc options

This has worked for me for Hexic HD, Perfect Dark and Mass Effect (all digitally purchased previously)

Awesome. Thankfully, P3 (aka Phil Spencer) has Super Meat Boy in his list. This will due while my preview membership is pending.

Wow...well MS support was very fortuitous. They credited my account for $12 so I can rebuy PD. Then I said can you check on my Doom purchase and they said "We credited another $12 to your account."

So now I have $24 space bucks in my account :/

Hmm...so they credited my $24 but I don't see it. How do you see your balance on here?

When I try ot buy PD on Xbox.com, it defaults to PayPal and the only other option in CHANGE PAMENT METHOD is my credit card.

EDIT
Looking in my Billing Account on MS, it looks like they refunded $24 from my Madden Purchase but it doesn't show up anywhere on my Xbox itself.

This is as confusing as my original issue...maybe it'll update in time. How do you check your balance on a console though?

(DOUBLE EDIT)
Okay, in my Payment & Billing on my XBONE, it has $24.

#winning

Need to find out how to spend 10 of that on PD.

If we do get a new list of games can someone make a new thread. I keep checking this thread to see if any have been added but I'd think it'd probably be good if someone creates a new thread when that happens
