Yeah I agree, I'm fine with half the footage being of things we'd seen before. I don't want them to spoil too much content. We got some new stuff and a new song so it's all good.
I would like a release date more than another trailer.
Looked like P3 MC.

Seems like they'd rather go down with the ship than adapt.
I thought buildingthelist was more for titles like Yakuza 4 that would otherwise never get translated? I wouldn't want to crowd out more niche games in favor of a relatively big title like P5 that will surely come over eventually. It's Atlus's biggest game in years and likely the foundation for a whole new slew of remakes and spin-offs.
But the weird thing is that there've been notable people within the company who have acknowledged the growing Western fanbase for their games, including the CEO Naoto Hiroaka and the producer & director Shinjiro Takada. Even though it's not a 1:1 point because Japan's market operates differently, the West accounts for ~50% of the entirety of Persona series sales now.
And yet... I dunno, it's weird. Atlus is weird.

I wish i could be optimistic , but that didn't prevent INDEX/ATLUS to block games before.
But hey that's a subject for another day .

This seems rather futuristic.....wonder how far ahead this is from P4 and if well get any mention of the past games. I get the feeling that Demons are coming back.

So much reused footage. That was disappointing. New stuff looks nice, but still not that great of a trailer. I can tell the cat is going to be irritating.

Yeah, Persona 3 and 4 are essentially standalone titles with a couple of harmless references to previous games, and Persona 5 looks to be the same.

I want to know how many goats had to be sacrificed to get PQ out in Europe as quickly as they did. That's where I want all Atlus releases to be at.
Otherwise, I need to pay over and above just to get games delivered in the same timeframe as the US. "Just import lol" doesn't work when that can involve waiting 2 weeks for it to arrive or smacking down an extra 50 CAD for shipping.

Persona games have self-contained stories. There are sometimes references, but nothing critical.
I don't think P4G was region locked. I'm pretty sure P4 Arena was the only one that was. They also got a lot of flak for doing that and I don't think Persona 4 Arena Ultimax was region locked.

And to answer, the chances are next to nill: I'm not even sure it's technically possible to region lock a PS4 game. And the main reason for the region lock (the US version having japanese VO and texts) won't be happening this time around.

Arena only got region locked because of the Dual Audio in Story mode. Ultimax doesn't have it, so it didn't get region locked. P5 will probably be English only so that's not really an issue. Someone at Atlus JP is really afraid of reverse importing, it seems...

The music in PV1 was the 'instrumental' version of the main theme, so I wonder if this is the instrumental version of the battle theme. I'm incredibly curious to hear how the music in this game sounds with vocals.

Irritating mascot characters are nothing new to Persona.
I love the sound editing in this trailer. Well, the parts that had sound, anyway.

Not as much new footage as I had hoped but still a great trailer. Doesn't seem to contain significant new info regarding story or gameplay either.
Music is dope, art direction is incredible but we already knew that.

It was just one game, and when Atlus was with Index.
Also Atlus seems to hate dual audio so less worries about it too...

You guys should probably relax on the release date. Ultimately, Atlus is probably taking the not uncommon approach of only putting out solid information a few months before release as part of their PR campaign towards it. Lots of JP games do it and some don't even announce until it's near ready to be sold.
For reference, Persona 3 was announced and the first big set of info came out in March of 2006 and released only 4 months later in July. So when they do a big info spread in the JP mags in the future, then we'll have it 4-5 months down the line.
