This happens to me a lot. I run in, kill the other team, ink the whole top while fighting multiple enemies coming after me, spam come on, die, and then when I look down at the map my whole team is bunched together meticulously inking every pixel of the lower catwalks.

Going to the bottom area first can be useful sometimes as long as only one person goes there. Yesterday in the match I talked about earlier I was distracting two enemies while the rest of my team got the upper area
Team signups will presumably reopen on Monday. Considering the team shirts vanished it's likely that everyone will have to redo their signup. Not that it's a big deal or anything, it only takes a second.

You can still vote even you bought the game during splatfest, though I doubt those level 1 players end up enjoying it during the Japan one.

There is some merit in covering the lower area if the other team doesn't have speedy classes on their side, but yeah, this is the defacto "How to Saltspray" diagram.
Crayolan and I going back and forth to get the early setup last night was amazing.

These are my favorite routes to start the stage and for generally getting into the top of the map:
A lot of people like to get slaughtered at the chokepoint entrance instead.

Basically that for ranked, although I take the elevator often in the beginning as it's one of the better flank positions for a roller and you're not all crowding the other choke then. It'd be nice if the lower section was some how used in Splat.
it's always a good idea to move in over the pipes, well unless you're the one doing the slaughtering
from the contest entries I think I like the raincoat one the best, though I'd probably use it without the glasses

I'll be gone July 4th... Darn it.
On Saltspray, I notice a lot of people rush the ramps leading to the upper section, and throw a bomb toward the other team's ramp. If I'm playing Tentatek, I sometimes try to stay in that entrance to slow them down, but it's always risky. Can be really epic if you can pull it off, but usually not worth the attempt. For the longer ranged weapons (Squlchers and SplatterPro), I usually go up the wall, camp the entrance a little, and then make my way to the top of the ramp.
Thank goodness. I'm going to be away the two weekends surrounding it, and didn't want to miss out on all those Sea Snails. Wanna reroll a bunch of equipment and add slots to the other ones.

This is the best route for shooter weapons by far.

yeah it's a bit strange but I think every region having their splatfests ties in to their content rollout strategy so they probably had to do it sooner rather than later
I still think the 3-map rotation will become standard once all the splatfests are over
Now you have to truly ask yourself if you're a kid or if you're a squid.

I wasn't aware people treated the 4th of July as a serious holiday. All my family ever does is barbecue in our backyard for dinner.
Well I'm a squid, I legitimately just wrote down a not saying "7/4 is splatfest don't forget" and didn't really realize that day was the day that people go blow shit up in the streets.

Pretty much. Brooklyn is a fun place during the day though. All these outdoor grills speaking to my West Indian roots something fierce. Having a day to grind Sea Shells works perfectly on top of this.

Whoa. Sweet. Nice to know that the addition of new gear will be pretty flexible if they are even willing to add contest versions. Hopefully this means the dev choices will have a chance of making it in as well.
