Fighting Games Weekly | June 29 - Jul 5 | Frauds Among U.S.

Conceited with the Marvel hate like clockwork. Let it flow, let it flow, let it flow. These next few pages are going to be great.

a lot of people really don't get that going last at evo is not a good thing for both the hype levels and the viewers

people are tired and burnt out by the time the last game rolls around and this was really reflected in the last 2 years

Did he release the Saturday finals schedule? I honestly think there's more prestige in the last couple of spots on Saturday night than on the first few Sunday.

I don't care enough about marvel to hate it anymore, I barely watch usf4 as it is

I like marvel as a game more than I like smash, but the justifications for it going 2nd to last are absolutely hilarious

smash has clearly earned that spot this year

I don't know about that, but now that you mention it KI would have been great for Sunday. Might have switched that with Xrd.

Persona 4 Arena Ultimax finals on Friday is also really lame, since the hype for that's always been insane since AnimEVO 2013.
And this was even moneyhatted!

Street Fighter can get more viewers if more US players are in top 8.
So it probably won't get more viewers.
Nah it just needs to be at a reasonable time for the East Coast viewers and most of these savant conspiracy theories fall apart.

best of luck smedwicks

My pool completely changed from yesterday. Got a japenese and chinese player in my pool and a guy I know in usf4 and in xrd got a japanese named RaiRai and a canadian named paul187.

Safe to assume it'll be Tekken 7, Killer Instinct and Smash 4 based on the pool schedule. But since Smash 4's pools are on Friday, most likely it will get a morning top 8 on Saturday to compensate for the other games being played that day. Not sure how prestigious that will be...especially for the second most entered game.

That's six hours of top 8 finals not on Sunday.

Super Smash Bros is also likely to destroy Marvel and Street Fighter.
Super Smash Bros Melee got like 120k for Apex, didn't it?

It sure didn't at CEO. SF4 views bopped everything last weekend. By a lot.

But, who cares.

EVO is the house that Street Fighter and, to a lesser extent Marvel, built. Nintendo didn't even embrace the FGC until, like, this year. That would be BS if games and companies that have been helping EVO blow up over the past 6 years just got tossed aside because Nintendo finally sees the light and agrees to play along.

EVO is even this huge because of SF4. That fact cannot be argued. Street FIghter should always be the main event as far as I'm concerned, no matter what entrants, views, sales, or whatever turn out to be for other games.

Marvel has definitely been the most exciting event or tied for being so almost every year I've watched EVO. I think I'd edge it to SF4 either 2012 or 2011, I can't remember which year. Always was great having SF4 at the end so you can relax a bit before knocking out when it's done, because SF4 has been (relatively) up and down over the years. I think it's going to be the best event this year.

Definitely not 2012, that was infiltrations year of domination, while interesting it was not exciting. 2011 had some great moments, like diago vs poongko.
