It's perfect timing and marketing for the kickstarter with both, the 1-2 kick in the butthole that was needed. It's at least over $100,000 and rising is for the physical PS4 version tier already.

All backers pledging for a $60 Reward tier or higher, will have the option of a PS4 Physical Copy as their platform choice.
After the Kickstarter finishes, a survey will be sent out to backers in these tiers to confirm your choice of platform. Choose one of the following:

1. PS4 Physical Copy
2. PS4 Digital Copy
3. Windows PC Physical Copy
4. Windows PC Digital Copy.

Backers who have pledged for a PC Physical Copy will not need to adjust their rewards if they would prefer a PS4 Physical Copy instead.

My understanding is that Sony is only providing funds to cover porting the PC version to PS4 and marketing support and that they (Sony) will have no bearing/say on what platforms it appears on.

before this hit we'd raised 25k today. the ps4 physical version has added A LOT. most of the higher tiers aren't even backed yet. it'll be insane when someone comes to sweep that stuff up at the end.

Wasn't there a legal impediment for that? SEGA considered this already last gen, but gave up, if I understood correctly.

I'll keep my $29 digital pledge - this game is a keeper and i quite like my digital collection.

I know many many many of you wanted a physical PS4 release - despite the fact it can cost millions when the game itself is only $2m - no problem, im guessing based Sony granted this blessing so hopefully we're getting extra funds with little to no impact on the gaming world itself.

Im ecstatic to see the pledges and fire for this kickstarter ramp up.

I know it's unlikely to happen so soon, but it would be really great if Sega would announce the HD versions of 1 and 2 before the end of the kickstarter.

I'll probably own a PS4 by late 2017, so I'm happy to have a physical PS4 version instead of the physical PC version.

As far as I can tell, Sony are funding/helping with the PS4 porting and marketing, and had Yu announce the game on their stage. That'll all. Maybe why PS4 physical took a while, Sony would get some for those.

An Xbox version would need similar help or it comes out of the budget. Yu Suzuki et al are making the game for PC.

Yes you can but you will need to create two separate accounts to do this.

There should be a way to make multiple pledges for different rewards if the higher tiers don't include stuff below them. It's a bit of hassle. Still it works and it's what I'll do.
