to actually answer you though, and not just throw sarcastic, although relevant, memes at ya...Yu Suzuki wanted more money to make the game as best as possible. He discussed it with Sony, and they are giving him some money and marketing - in return they get Console exclusivity
Speaking of not paying attention you seemed to have missed the part where I said
what kind of games do you like?
It's pretty sad that someone over at Kotaku felt the need to use the placeholder image for this as a reason to try and smear the Kickstarter campaign.
All kinds really. Everything from Bloodborne to Street Fighter to classic rpgs and jrpgs. About the only games I'm not super into are sports games like Madden.
If Sony REALLY wants the game to succeed they should drop the exclusivity deal, and instead just have a marketing deal. Also, is it confirmed to be exclusive? If so, why are they wording it like this?

"Success" probably isn't a word that would suitable for Shenmue III in relation to sales figures and I can't imagine that Sony has any interest in it being successful for their competitors. If Sony REALLY wants the game to succeed they should drop the exclusivity deal, and instead just have a marketing deal. like the other posters say, shenmue is kind of a big mix of a lot of different genres into a unique package. All kinds really. Everything from Bloodborne to Street Fighter to classic rpgs and jrpgs. About the only games I'm not super into are sports games like Madden.
So I spent $100 dollars, will I have the option to get the physical version of the game now?
Guys I want to help but I'm from Brasil.
Which options I have on KS to pay from outsides countries?
I mostly will chose the digital version to avoid issues with shipping of physical one.
They have to fix that for the $100 tier, I want PC trial version, my name in the game and the physical PS4 game. Right now it's only digital.
No offence to awesome Japan but they're partly responsible for the incompetence of this campaign.
Game needs 10mil in funding for me to care about wanting to play it and that's never going to happen.

i would recommend giving them a try, 2 especially. as for now, you might want to think seriously about backing the third. with an entry fee as low as $29, why not?
That's an interesting line of thought. 10 million is needed for the ideal version in Yu's mind for Shenmue 3, but getting half that doesn't mean you're getting a shitty version.
I've been super intrigued with the series so I'm inclined to give it a try. I may have one of the first two already.
And you're right about the entry fee. It's pretty low and at the very least I'd get to contribute to a game that lots of people want. Even if I wind up not liking the game it would be cool to be part of buzz around 3.
If you're looking to simply make money, there are much faster and easier ways to get a better return on a $60 investment than $440 over the course of 14 years.
Game needs 10mil in funding for me to care about wanting to play it and that's never going to happen. What kind of person can afford to pay 10k for a game jacket and dinner and that other stuff you get? That's insane to me.
Also, if I paid $10k for the original jacket and then they released the replicas (which will essentially be the exact same thing) I would be piiiiised! Still there won't be many but more than 1 is worse than 1.

yeah, just go to manage your pledge and increase the amount to however much you want.Is it possible to increase your pledge (to say... $60) but still get the digital version? I dont mind paying $60 for Shenmue 3, but i am done with discs
Sorry a bit new to KS
Yep. So long as you're pledging enough for it, you can choose what reward tier you want, or even choose not to get anything at all. So yeah pledging $29 and just getting a digital copy is definitely possible. Is it possible to increase your pledge (to say... $60) but still get the digital version? I quite agree. If Sony wants Shenmue 3 to succeed they should make an Xbox version themselves. Just think of the potential sales.

TBH I feel like most hardcore Shenmue fans who have been begging for 3 for the past decade would probably pick up a PS4 for Shenmue. Xbox One version seems like a waste of resources to me when you take into account how small their budget likely is
