It's okay, SF4 will die a swift and sudden death and have 9am finals in an empty ballroom, while everyone moans about how much worse SF5 is. The great circle of life.

Let's just say that after 5 years of FGC tournaments in the Philly area that I can say without a doubt that bad smells are not limited to Smash players

I have a distinct memory of playing a Sagat player who smelled like dead fish wrapped in rotting roadkill covered with expired garlic. I had no choice but to shake his hand afterward, and it was so greasy my hand almost slipped away

So your discrimination seems backed by nothing but hate, which is rather foolish. Smash supports their games and community to a humongous level that puts the traditional fighter scene to shame numerous times so your blind hatred is extremely unwarranted.

Capcom mandates that the 50k at EVO is payed out to top 8 and is distributed like this

1. 20k
2. 10k
3. 7k
4. 5k
5. 2500 each
7. 1500 each

The thing is nobody knows how EVO distributes the pot from the entry fee and they won't tell. For a while they stuck with the 70/20/10 split. Daigo got 7k the 2009 and probably like 12k in 2010. Things have changed since then, but again, they won't tell us how. We had Xian only get 5500 in 2013 which was only about a 3rd of the pot. And people got upset about how little the champion made.

They could just match the percentage of Capcom Cup's pay out. Their wouldn't be an outcry this time if that were the case because 40% of 22k(about 9k) plus another 20k is pretty good money. But if I were to guess I'd say they have their own proprietary method of splitting the pot among top 8 or whatever it is.

EDIT: Forget what I said, I just now saw the FAQ listed at EVO's website. That must be the first time they're listing it. I swear I've never seen them do that before.

They still did a top 3 only payout in 2011. I won zero for 5th. Was pretty ridiculous IMO. They switched to a top 8 payout in 2012.
