I didn't even know he was that sick.
This came unexpected.

We keep quoting this, but the mods aren't changing the GAF title any faster.
I don't know that it's possible to find someone with the combination of Iwata's ability to manage a company with his fierce belief in the power of game developers as artists.
Nintendo's going to be different no matter what happens now.

I immediately asked the art team if they could come up with something upon hearing the news. That being said, the posts yelling and demanding a logo change have in some cases been extremely rude and inappropriate, and the current Pride logo was intended to run through July to celebrate marriage equality in the United States, which is an important sentiment in its own right. If the art team creates something we're happy with then a special memorial logo may be uploaded. Please remain calm and let us run the site on our own terms, and do not derail the thread around logo change talk, either way. Thanks.
Evilore said he is looking into it with the art team.
They're aware of it, just have to wait and see what happens.
At least they're looking into the option, that's good to hear. They've seen it.
I asked earlier in the thread but I guess my post got drowned out. Can someone please add a ribbon to my avatar?

With no Yamauchi to defer to the wishes of, or an Iwata who marches to the best of his own drum, I honestly wonder if it's a matter of time before Nintendo starts making decisions in more "conventional" directions.
Nintendo going third party.... more or less likely after Iwata's passing? More, if anything.

Has there been a statement from Shigesato Itoi? The two of them were pretty close.
