Suicide Squad Official Trailer Drop

That's what i figured. Disappointing. Hopefully the film does something interesting with her as a character

Honestly as much as I LOVE and adore Harley. There really isn't much to her character. She's essentially in an abusive relationship with the Joker yet she can't leave him. Aside from that she's a great fighter and extremely dangerous.

Personally I think Robbie is going to kill it. She has the look and she's damn fine. From the few scenes they showed it seems she has a grip on the character.

Not digging Will Smith as Deadshot. Also, I know nothing about the suicide squad (not read any comics or anything about them) - and the trailer doesn't seem to explain what warrants making a squad out of serious criminals.

Uh, Waller outright says 'if it goes wrong, we blame them' and Will Smith calls them 'patsies.'

I think he will do fine. Deadshot requires swag and Smith has tons of it. And he;s likable, which considering how much of an asshole this character can be is a very good thing.

Plus what gives me plenty of hope for this is that his mask covers his face completely. Like it should. So they're not going on some sort of ego-trip with Smith here.

He should be wearing the mask 99% of the movie.

Leto as The Joker looks pretty sweet. I fully believe he can pull it off. Also, Harley is gonna be the shit in this movie.

Like... the first third of the whole trailer is dedicated to Waller explaining what the Suicide Squad is, why she's using criminals, etc.

Amanda says clearly they can be controlled and disavowed just as easily due to their nature. If you mean their particular mission for this movie, that'll probably be revealed in another trailer

so will smith shouldn't play a character you know nothing about?

Amazing trailer, although a large part of the amazingness is the music.
Still, cannot wait. Joker looks great. And Jai Courtney looks like he could actually be cool, for the first time in his life.

"So that's it huh? We're the patsies... we're some kind of Suicide Squad"

People keep leaving out the patsies part and I think that makes it a little better. I still hope that save the world line was sarcasm but regardless that was lame to put in the trailer.

There's no need to actually say they're a suicide squad. It's just incredibly patronising.

The save the world line sounds like something Will Smith would say in every movie and doesn't fit the tone.

Maybe they're just things for the trailer though.

Yeah, seems pretty cut and dry.

The government gets their own weird version of the Justice League that they can completely control, while also being able to pawn off any and all responsibility on if shit goes down. It's a pretty perfect situation for them, you know, if they weren't homicidal maniacs and sociopaths.

Strangely getting Blade 1 vibes off the semi-neon tone

Dat Batman: TAS mask.

Harley and Joker look fantastic, but these shots right here got me even more pumped to see this. They remind me of the visual flare that Michael Mann films have had, which I love. Ayer looks to be bringing a really cool style that I haven't seen many (or any) comic book movies have.

take people with superpowers, stick bombs in their necks, and then make them do good or they die

Crocodile dude looks ridiculous.

That's Killer Crocodile dude you.

This version seems based off of the Arkham Origins version (which I loved), but more realistic, which I don't think works as well.

Full on Croc-man and embracing that is best.

Some have powers, expert skills, etc, and are willing to work for their sentences getting reduced. Typical dirty dozen stuff.

The "save the world" line would work if Smith bothered to add some snark or sarcasm. It needs to convey the whole stupidity of criminals doing a good thing. Instead smith is just smith

The government needs a group of highly skilled people who do something incredibly dangerous. They strap them with bombs to make sure they complete the mission. In return the criminals get a reduced sentence or pardon.

To be fair, the movie is still 13 1/2 months out

I don't think you need to explain that now... or really in the trailer

Though, I do think it may help them to do a character intro trailer/series like Guardians got

Leto still isn't impressing me. Granted he has the biggest shoes to fit in but he's definitely hasn't blown me away yet. Part of it is due to his awful design.

They're going for a realistic take which has been attempted a few times.

Like a more realistic version of the Arkham Origins version (which I loved).

I loved that take on Killer Croc. I know Origins was a bit of a buggy mess, but I really enjoyed the story it told and the visuals of the cut scenes.
