Suicide Squad Official Trailer Drop

I mean, I hope Joker is locked up because of what he did to Jason Todd and that this is mentioned in Suicide Squad, but not explained because that would be too expository.

It's a great opportunity to give a historical weight to all the proceedings.
Ah yeah that'd be great. I really can't wait to see how this all pans out.

No doubt at all. I'm praying that at the same time, I'm hoping there'll be a big boost in love for more obscure pics like Waller and Enchantress. From just how much people seem to love Cara Delevingne, I can see people coming to the opening dressed as Harley and buying Joker shirts to watching it a few weeks later dressed as Enchantress and begging Hot Topic for Killer Croc plushies or something.

It's gonna be huge re ally. Funny thing about Cara. From all the articles I've read, after Jared Leto she seems to be the most mentioned, because an number of fashion blogsmagazines are picking up on her.

I think she actually has some serious star power

If this does well, I have a feeling Justice League Dark will be greenlighted.

Look how many YouTube views the trailer has in 24hours. Hype is only going to go up as we get closer to release where they tease more of Joker and Batman.

The pirated version had 7 million views alone.

This is also a pretty good reason as to why it's not gonna be R. If it appears to be this popular already, they're not gonna want to lock out a large chunk of the teen audience with the rating.

It's part of the cinematic universe. The whole point of a cinematic universe is that there is now added incentive for the viewers to watch EVERY CHAPTER in it, whether they really want to or not, because otherwise they might miss out.

It's going to be PG-13, like every other film in that universe will be.

He's talking about stuff like Dirty Dozen, Inglorious Basterds, Italian Job, Oceans Eleven, etc...

So many movies aping GoTG's success!

For shame, Hollywood!

Jack-ass response aside, I think if they wanted to ape GoTG, wholesale... they would have done Secret Six.

That is more in line with it, being a family of villains who do good on their own accord.

Right now GoTG and Suicide Squad has... it's an ensemble of people (anti-heroes vs "bad guys") working together... and involves a prison

Man, I love how people are able to break down will smiths performance by watching a total of what, 10 seconds worth of clips? Absurd. We haven't seen shit, he could be good and he could be bad. All I know is he tends to have great charisma and screen presence so I have faith he'll do fine in this movie.

The best thing he can bring to the role is that he clearly doesn't want to be there, and neither should Deadshot.

Probably, but it might come close. GoTG wasn't a mindblowing success and R movies seem to be doing better and better these days. I think Suicide Squad has potential to reach 600 mln worldwide.

Definitley, a lot of people will watch this because of certain actors e.g. Will Smith. Others because they know it's a superhero film, which has The Joker. The film will have an even greater success coming off the back of BvS as they will see that Batman appears in this.

Last time I compared this film to gotg I was labeled as "crazy" so be careful. Even though it's clear the only reason this movie was rushed into production is because it has vague similarities to that box office blockbuster.

Nope. Charles Roven the producer wanted to make this back in 2009. Guardians of the Galaxy came out in August of 2014, and this film had productions offices in Canada early April of 2014 when it was secretly titled "Bravo 14."

You can't say that they had the foresight of Guardians' success, when it was tracking to open with 60 million. And it was not until Disney made an aggressive debut and put the film in over 4000 theatres (august record) that it surprised critics with a healthy 90 million opening weekend.

Suicide Squad is its own thing and they're not even targeting the same demographic. There is only one aspect that's similar, and that's "team of misfits." Which can so easily be applied to Ayer's own Fury, or Michael Bay's Armageddon, or Furious 7.

I honestly can't think of a movie starring Will Smith in which he did not play a slightly more or less Will Smithy version of the character he starred as.... which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but he's absolutely a known quality.

Well why don't you make a thread about it so we can get more people in on this discussion.

Am I the only one who thinks the Joker in motion looks as scary as Heath Joker while the Heath Joker looked menacing in stills but Leto's version not so much in stills?

Rope Guy is there, don't worry.

Hey who does everyone think will be the most popular Halloween costume, Harley Quinn, or Rope Guy?

I'm already working on my Rope Guy costume since he'll obviously be getting the next stand-alone flick after BvS. I'll be more than ready for Comic-Con 2016.

I can't wait till the poster drops with the tag line reading "When all hope is lost, it's nice to know that he'll be there, with plenty of rope".

Didn't Del Torro get dropped from JL Dark? It's probably happening quicker than we think now that it can actually get done.

Yeah he did. Someone get George Miller on the phone and tell him he can finally do a Justice League film.

Guy Pearce as Constantine
Andy Serkis as Swamp Thing

Eh I'll think of more later

They have a full year to confirm it. No rush.

Maybe they want to use him to increase movie's hype, sometime in the future. I hope he has a major role (I don't think he will be more than a cameo or a minor role in this film, because if that was the case they would have announced him already) in future Suicide Squad films or another DC film.

I can't imagine they'll kill as many characters as some of you expect, can they? This is a comic-book movie. They'll wanna make Suicide Squad 2 and 3, and use these characters in other films too.

Harley, no question. I already have half of my costume put together, and my boyfriend has some stuff for the Ledger Joker (he doesn't want to cut his hair).

They'll just introduce other jobbers.

The very concept of the Squad means that you can use anyone want as long as they're a supercriminal.

Or just a criminal in Slipknot's case.

I don't know about others, but I expect two deaths. One to prove that Waller is very serious about the neck bombs and one to prove that the mission is a suicide mission. I believe that the less important characters will die, like Slipknot , for the reason you said.
