Suicide Squad Official Trailer Drop

I don't now if somebody already pointed this out (probably), but the last scene looks like The Joker is torturing Harley with electroconvulsive therapy sticks. Would explain her becoming insane.

I actually like Will Smith in this movie. Deadshot has no super powers. He was trained by the league of shadows and just trained his ass off on being a marksman after accidentally killing his brother. I didn't know much about the character until reading up on him extensively he has depth. I think the casting is great.

Joker might grow on me. But I dunno. This representation makes him seem just like a psycho instead of the joker. Like he's just another one of the group instead of.... Well the joker.

Assault on Arkham spoilers
I'm thinking the Joker is taking the Riddler's spot. Using the electroshock therapy to disarm the bombs Waller put into their head to make the cooperate.

How can I like Harley Quinn so much and dislike Joker so much. I don't actually dislike Leto as the Joker, I liked his acting and his laugh, I just hate the grill and the fact that he went to a tattoo parlor and asked for the Killing Joke background.

Will Smith as Deadshot is strange. Suicide Squad as the next DC movie is pretty strange too, really. And the music was strange, but I really liked it.

This whole project is strange.

Shes
pre crazy make-up and dressed like a psychologist there. I don't think shes on the Squad at the point. But I would actually love them to keep that scene.

Because there's nothing there to screw up for Harley, her character is practically walking fanservice at this point.

That aside I think Joker looks good for what little we saw of him.

I'm very excited this, looks to be by far the most interesting thing the DC Cinematic Universe is trying.

I actually like Leto, Robbie is great, and Ayer looks to be bringing something unique to the screen.

Cautiously optimistic.

Ohhh, I just ordered the first trade of it yesterday. No spoilers, but is it really that bad?
I like New 52 Suicide Squad. It's a fun action book with a dark tone and some scumbaggery. It's what I wanted.

Just keep in mind that the 5th trade (there are only 5) is just not good, and neither is New Suicide Squad (which occurs afterwards).

Other than that, I enjoyed that series. Fuck Harley's design in there, though. Damn did I hate it.

Winter Soldier/Guardians aren't tonally similar. If you think so, you weren't watching properly.
They sort of are. Like, the genre and themes are different, but the tone is very similar. That's the thing about the MCU movies: they are all, for the most part, light-hearted movies. Granted, they aren't comedies, but they are lighthearted films with serious moments. They make you feel, but without getting too real or depressing. Despite being different genres.
Any Suicide Squad story that doesn't involve Boomerang doing some dastardly shit and proving he's actually the most evil dude in the DC universe is not a Suicide Squad story I want to read.
Most evil? Boomer may be scummy, but he ain't Inertia or Major Force levels.
She has an accent. She just isn't very high-pitched like past versions.
Thank god for that, too. They went way too far with it in Batman Arkham Knight. Nice to see a toned down version.

He just comes across as a bit of a poser. If you think about Joker's usual style, the purple suit, the clown aesthetic, it's unique and connotes a certain kind of insanity. Whereas this Joker appears to be concerned with things that some people might consider to be 'cool', and his style seems kind of borrowed from some shitty sources. Eh, maybe it will grow on me.

The flashbacks are reminding me of another ensemble movie that had character flashbacks before the shit hits the fan. I want to say Battle Royale, but I'm not sure.

Man, I love Jokers look. It's so over the top in the best kind of way. Serving as such a stark contrast to the Batman in this universe. The tattoos are theatric as hell and they show some level of self awareness that no doubt will be significant to this character.

Could be wrong about that last part.

The original Suicide Squad is way, way better.

Simply because Amanda Waller is the main character is Deadshot was pretty boss.

Even characters like Lashina, Nightshade and Shade the Changing Man were memorable.

Harley is just as bad if you use her TAS/mad love/Gotham city sirens as the baseline

Her Rotten tattoo is just as stupid as the damaged tattoo on joker

FWIW, this is the most recent incarnation of the joker

Leto fits in just fine

Honest question, as someone who hasn't been following the production of any of these new DC Universe movies very closely. Is this a "new" Joker? Like, Batman in Dawn of Justice has been on the job for a couple of decades, and has a very aged Joker-defiled batsuit on display in the BvS trailer as he's talking about "20 years in Gotham" and all of that. Leto's Joker looks very young. Doesn't seem like his Joker could have been sparring with Batman a decade earlier or whatever.

Just looked it up, and Leto is 43. Damn, he looks way younger than that, especially in his Joker getup.

you think Winter Soldier and GotG have the same tone? What?

I imagine that this is going to be the Joker that is referenced in the Dawn of Justice trailer.

In fact, I'm really hoping that the reference the incident that created the messed up Robin-Suit in Suicide Squad. Would be a nice tie in for BvS.

Winter Soldier and GoTG don't have a similar tone in the slightest. Like at all.

This and that stupid new batman movie are looking less terrible than I thought they would. I guess this is the point where I go into media blackout.

A seemingly young Joker despite having long history with an older Batman is actually kind of creepy. Makes him seem Iike this pervasive evil that doesn't go away.

Oh damn, that is a Robin suit. Didn't notice that before, but it's clear as day! Makes that shot way cooler and way more meaningful.

Latino review posted months ago that Jared is actually doing a cameo flashback scene in BvS in relation to the death of Robin when Batfleck sees the suit.

Definitely true. Plus, I mean, Leto is the same age as Affleck (older by a year, even), so it's not like its inconceivable. Still can't believe Leto's age.

Anyway, I'm not a fan of the makeup and overall design of this new Joker, but Leto does an amazing job actually playing him from what I've seen so far in that trailer.

I mean, I hope Joker is locked up because of what he did to Jason Todd and that this is mentioned in Suicide Squad, but not explained because that would be too expository.

It's a great opportunity to give a historical weight to all the proceedings.

Will Smith is not Box Office poison, M. Night Shayayayayayalalalala is the real poison, even Focus did a little bit (mostly because the budget was $50 million)

He always picks the safe roles.

Hopefully we see him do Deadshot things in here. Like shoot up a room full of thugs in cold blood or something.

But that seems like two different scenes

Mainly because Joker looks different. White skin and jacket vs pale skin, tattoos, and Arkham pants

My guess is that this Joker has influence outside of Arkham and stages a breakout, hence the incoming masked goons taking on riot shield wielding guards.

They shoot up the place, grab Quinn, and free Joker from his cell (hence no shirt and Arkham pants)

He tortures her, then suits up (whiter skin and jacket) and they leave (Joker walking behind the guy)

FULL POINTS THAT MAN!

You're probably right, that's likely what's happening at the
end of the film
just as
the huge prison break
is going down.

But she is wearing glasses and a white coat/therapist clothes while strapped down. Definitely pre-Harley Quinn

Not sure who this movie is intended for. I think it looks stupid. Being in August it's probably being sent to die anyways.

Joker looks like Manson

I have zero hype for this movie. Batman v Superman got me hyped but the latest trailer tells me its all over the place and wonderwoman just doesn't fit there
