is the Samsung UN50HU8550 50" 4K 3D 120Hz LED Smart HDTV that starts at 7:20am a good TV?

I won't use 3D and does anything even take advantage of 4k other than PC gaming?

I mean they're nice to have, but I guess that all depends on the price. was hoping for a 60 inch TV though.

Completely misread that somehow. Most 4k Tv's (including the 8550) are smart TV's that use HVEC.265 for streaming 4k through Netflix, Amazon Instant Video etc. Outside of that and PC you're right that 4k is largely irrelevant. If you are looking to use this as a monitor keep in mind it isn't capable of doing 4k@60hz with 4:4:4 chroma subsampling. So there will be quite alot of color degredation at 4k.

As far as TV's go for picture quality I've heard good things on the AVS forums. It's edge lit though so make sure you watch for any light bleed after purchasing. The input lag is pretty bad for gaming (if you care), so keep that in mind, at around 63-70ms in gaming mode.
 
Set my alarm for 6:30, gonna try to grab an HP Stream 7 as a late birthday present for my dad (he wants an mp3 player). Hope it goes down to at least $70. I'm running low on funds and don't get paid until next Saturday.

Offtopic, can anyone recommend a quality mp3 player under $100? My limited research shows me that iDevices are unusally expensive, even older ones.

They've discontinued the Clip Zip, but Sandisk's replaced it with this version:

Not sure about the exact differences, but I've been using my Zip (with Rockbox installed) consistently for over a year and a half now.

Edit - yeah, definitely do some research on that model, but Sandisk in general is a great place to start. Lot of happy Clip+/Zip users.

You can't install Rockbox on the Clip Sport unfortunately.

I remember the days when you could easily save 10 dollars or more by pre ordering on amazon. Even more during the ESA discount era lol
 
The Kindle Voyage has been out for over half a year, feels longer, really. Their complete allergy toward including it in sales must mean they're losing money on it badly.

I want my physical page buttons, darn it.
 
Wow this was underwhelming to wake up to. None of the tablets I cared about are on sale. The kindle hd7 is all right but that was meant as a last resort not the only option.
 
I doubt walmart has anything similar honestly. At this point I might as well keep waiting before I buy a tablet. I'll keep checking my wishlist but jesus christ at whoever decided to not have like the hdx 8.9 on sale

The Sennheisers are usually $80. No point in getting the 2.0 when the 1.0 does the same job. Since Senn > Bose, this sale has nothing for me. I'll pick up the Momentums before I go back to campus.

Was gonna grab them but the reviews are saying they're not good for people with large heads :(
 
I'll probably buy one of the portable battery chargers for my cell phone. There's a bunch of them on sale so I just have to find a good one now.
 
I you are doing random junk for sale at least throw in a kickass laser pointer that can trigger matchsticks to burn just by pointing, or something.
 
I feel like the universe is mocking me. July 15th happens to be my birthday, yet in the past week my well went out and my truck broke down, taking every bit of spare money I had, so I can't buy anything.
