Amazon Prime Day Deals

The only thing I personally like the looks of is the firetv stick for £19 but the rumors of a version 2 coming out soon scares me away, sounds more like a clearance price then a true offer.

Definitely get a PS4 then. It is a better console for straight gaming. When I had just a PS4 and Wii U, every gaming itch was scratched. It is a killer combo. I got the xbox as a gift and was pleasantly surprised. But since youre not in america, I wouldnt waste your time with an xbox.

I'd hate to turn this into "that thread", but I'd say check out the Ouya. It has one of the best interfaces this gen and who needs AAA titles when you can play the classics using the various emulators on the marketplace? Since the company doesn't have to deal with "the big guys" they can focus on quality items such as the interface and pass any monetary savings on to you as well. It's like buying a car from Henry Ford directly.

I did my research, I checked it twice and the Ouya was just the system for me.

All kidding aside. I also enjoy my Xbox now that I have one, I mainly use it for exclusives, but it's a great little system. Back on topic, Amazon must have lost their minds with this sale. Sheesh.

Euro bros have there been any xbox one deals for y'all yet?

The event has been active for a only a few hours and people are bitching that there haven't been any incredible deals yet? Smh

How about you give it until people are awake so we can see if maybe they were waiting to put the real stuff up for more buyers to have a chance at it?

Which headphones?

Turtle Beach amplified PS4 headsets. Sold out already.

Agreed. At least initially Amazon deserves the benefit of the doubt that they haven't put the best stuff on sale while the majority of the country are still asleep.

I'd make an argument that if that was a consideration, why start it at 3am? There should be... Something at least. To make it look like they're really trying to make this be a big sale event.

There's pretty much no deals for games at all on amazon.de

Very disappointing

Yeah, besides that refurbished PS4 for 259€ nothing exciting has crossed my radar yet. But I can only see deals within the next 3 hours, so there might be some surprises left.

I did buy a pair of shoes, though. Well, might not be GAF-relevant unless I use them for a dancing game. Which I don't have. ... Never mind.

This is such a horrible way to have a sale, to the consumer anyway. They've got a half dozen actual daily deals that I'd expect pages of for a major sale..... and everything else you've got to constantly click through pages of trash looking for a highlight, write down the time, then hope the price is even worth bothering with, and be fast enough to purchase any of the actually good deals before the sell out their small inventory in 5 minutes.

I know that's just generally how all their lightning deals work, but at least on Black Friday they have a lot more day long deals you could check all at once.

Don't forget that you need to be a prime member which is the cost of your savings, really.

If you're a heavy prime member you're making up a lot of that in the free streaming/two day shipping/cloud storage stuff, though. I know I've abused the value of the free two day shipping, and I've had family members who have me order things for them because of it.

Speaking of cloud storage, can anyone speak to the reliability of this Seagate Cloud system? It's going on sale in an hour and forty, and if it's cheap enough I'd like to invest in a new backup drive. Plus automatic sync with Google Drive is perfect for me.

Well, here's an odd little thing: There seem to be no new deals for 1pm in the UK. There are deals for 1:10, but I'd expect there to be something on the hour.

This makes me wonder if there might, perhaps, be deals that aren't actually revealed until the moment of launch. I'm sure I've seen products in the 'ending soon' that I never saw in the upcoming list, so I wonder if I just missed them, or if Amazon are doing what I just suspected.

We'll know in about 40 seconds, I guess!

Edit: Apparently not. Just... no deals at 1pm. Curious.

Those are the best deals of all time? I see nothing interesting when it comes to games (Amazon Germany). Shadow of Middlearth PS4 for 37€ ... Uhhh that deal is showing up all the time on Amazon.

I'm not sure if they reveal them with an instant launch but usually reveal them with a short countdown right? e.g in the US Borderlands just appeared with 30 mins til it begins. That way people can share/tell others about the deal and they get a traffic spike at that point.

I have the older version (4TB) and have had 0 problems with it. I would be tempted to get the newer version only because you can use the newer one as a Plex server IIRC. ATM I have media saved to my storage and connected (via network, not directly) to my Fire TV (living room) and Fire Stick (bedroom), both running Kodi. Works great except if your watching something in the living room and move to the bedroom you ll need to manually skip to the relevant part. No a major problem but if the seagate storage was the server it wwould be one less step.

EDIT: Actually the new version may no longer be supported by Plex, I can't find it on their site...

EDIT2: I'm an idiot.
