I don't see the problem with it. It may have been a particular game. It was a while back ago from what I remember. I think it may of been for an MMO.

i don't think any retailers would be doing early release (maybe midnight at most) because they don't want to get into any trouble due to street dates

Canceling a pre-order and returning actual purchased merchandise are not in the same ballpark and one should have absolutely no bearing on the other.

Yeah that's definitely what I meant. I live in Los Angeles and there are quite a few options around me that break street dates all the time.
