Fighting Games Weekly | July 20-26 | No Gods or Kings, Only Tears

Guess he was the character Ono hinted at for Brazil? Strange that they debuted him in the New Zealand stage, though.
Last time I checked Aztec had nothing to with Brazil. So if Necalli is from Aztec heritage, he can't be the Brazilian newcomer.

Plus, if there is a Brazilian newcomer, she or he will surely be announced at Brazil Game Show.

Garbage gief? My footsies leveled up homie

I gotta play your Gief and Cammy more.

I don't have a cammy

Surprisingly Im the exact opposite

I need to do some long ass sets with you Tik Tok

You're losing to his Gief?? OK training time soon.

With all the added exposure Evo got this year, I wouldn't be surprised to see EVO to see an significant increase next year.

They issued 12,000 passes this year, and could only seat 6,000 for the finals. Next year, they need a 12,000 area. They can fit that many.

They need something like the Mack Center at UNLV.

Was thinking exactly this.

I don't know man, aside from SFV what other new game is going to be there?

This year EVO had a new GG, a new MK game, a new Tekken game and a new Smash game. Next year's EVO only has SFV as a new game and while that's a pretty big game I don't think it quite compares to having 4 new, very different games than before.

Pokken. Tekken 7. New Guilty Gear XRD.

Tekken 7 doesn't count this year.

This is a good point but with Sony's full support behind this game, you don't know how strong their marketing can be to bring in the casual audience to play this game.

This is such a weird criticism. Some people in a thread about fighting games want to deconstruct gameplay so they can get better, which increases their enjoyment of the game. Go figure.

You're talking as if I don't know that I'm just talking at the basic level. Mothafuckas act like you got to be the next Daigo to enjoy the damn game. That's all I'm saying play the damn game and stop trying to focus on being the next Daigo Its like anything else if you put enough time you're gonna get better. Mothafuckas on some whole instant gratification type shit and get mad cause they aren't winning as soon as they plug up the damn game.

Hey man no need to get upset over it.

you don't expect more people to enter the for the new GG?

I mean almost every new iteration of a game brings more entrants (there are few exceptions tho)
Depends on how major the upgrade is. KI got a major update (basically doubled the core game) and got a small increase in entrants.

Marvel dying is a great thing. I need Marvel to die. If Marvel doesn't die we will never get Marvel 4. I know.. even if UMVC3 dies we probably won't get Marvel 4, but it gives us hope dammit. Hope is all I got! Don't take that away from me!

We will get Marvel 4 for the iPad and you will like it

I actually want to stop and say what a great job Vulva did of playing on the stream at EVO.
It's fucking nerve wracking playing pools at EVO let alone having to play on the big screen and he actually played very well, especially considering one of his matches was against one of the best players in the world.

Good job vulva.

People will definitely be there for the next Xrd iteration, and when Tekken drops for console... there will be a lot more competition.
I am not saying there won't be people for those games... I am saying there won't be way more people for those games than this year. EVO 2014 had 250 players for TTT2, EVO 2015 had 400 for T7... EVO 2016 is not going to have 600 players for Tekken.

Here's a thought. If you're getting bodied hard, you won't learn anything. Yes playing the game will allow you to learn, I don't see how any tutorial is prepping anyone to be the next daigo. For example if someone goes searching for tech to get out of ibuki's vortex, you have information at the ready by watching Xians academy which breaks it down, and what your options are. If you're brand new to a game, you may not be privy to this kind of info, and furthermore youre just going to be discouraged by falling into the same thing ad nauseum because you aren't learning anything. Fighting games have a steeper learning curve, if I can spend less time by training smart rather than hard, then you best believe I'm gonna train smart.

James and David saying that some of the Saturday night EVO stream oversights (Marvel, Guilty Gear) happened because the ballroom was literally so packed with Smash players that it was hard for anyone else to get where they needed to be.

They're also talking about the location of next year EVO. Thinking about it, they probably already picked the location since you have to plan a year ahead.

Max dropping all coverage of Smash games confirmed.

I don]t know why I thought that they extended to Brazil ( ._.)

I think they might even plan further ahead than that, at least in terms of reserving large ballrooms and such.

There are people who are out there who thinks tiers should be based on the actual lore. Like for example Akuma would always be top tier.
