Nice the PC version isn't too far behind.
This. Though it's getting dangerously close to Uncharted time.

Pre-orders probably were not setting their world on fire, because people assumed it was coming to the PS4/PS3 a little later (most assumes only 6 months). Announce it a whole year later, and hope you can get impatient people to bite since that pretty much kills the PS3 version.
There's a beautiful history that MS saved Titanfall too.. I guess you missed.
Or a beautiful history that MS helped the reborn of the TR franchise right back (2011?) when they showed the game in their conference. Since then they have a strong relationship bla bla bla
Its the same kind of scummy practice as MS and EA going behind Respawn's back to make Titanfall a full exclusive without their knowing.
What does Street Fighter have to do with Tomb Raider?
One is exclusive and one is not? Actually neither are exclusive. What does Street Fighter have to do with Tomb Raider?

I'm not contradicting Ono. Ono contradicts himself. He has said both that Street Fighter would appear on PS4 and XB1 (but not WiiU), and that due to the success of Street Fighter IV, a Street Fighter V wasn't a hard sell to those at the top (as opposed to Street Fighter IV coming off Street Fighter III).
*EDIT*
As kagari says, bringing up SF in regards to Tomb Raider is ridiculous, so this is my last post on it.
He never said that. If you have another link, good then.
I like how you take his statements out of context.

He never said it would come to Xbox 1.
And as for the "it was an easy sell" if you actually read the full interview, it was only after the deal with Sony that Ono's pitch had the desired effect on Capcom higher ups. Otherwise he could not get funding. This is a fact.
What's the difference? MS saved the game, and wanted the game exclusive for them. Same for SF V.*EDIT*

The titanfall financial situation only gave them timed exclusivity, to help them bring out the game Respawn said. They didn't intend for the game to be a full exclusive, and were disappointed(maybe more then that) to realize their plans were dashed by EA and MS's deal without their knowing.

And TR was in the process of being made to begin with, that MS stuff is all marketing PR.This is why i've become so disillusioned with MS in recent years, their game division has become much less about games. Atleast when Allard and company were at the helm they atleast made an effort.

You forgot to include taxes, marketing etc... Pretty sure total earnings is nowhere close like your math.
You're going back to what we discussed already. MS want to shift consoles but they also want to make money that's the whole point. You keep saying you dont see why but I'm giving you reasons. Telling SE to not make a 360 version would only stop themselves from making money. It would also make it more expensive to them to tell SE to stop making money. That's also why they make other games available on the 360. It's a large chunk of sales. Almost comparable or even higher than the XB1 in some cases. I've also said why I think a release on PS3 more than a year from now makes less sense.
That was one of many listings before anything official:
http://m.uk.ign.com/articles/2014/06/16/rise-of-the-tomb-raider-may-hit-ps3-and-xbox-360
So you're ignoring the evidence of several retailer listings for 360/PS3 before the exclusive deal announcement to concentrate on the evidence being when it was officially announced on the xbox site? Then discredit how we knew it was coming to PS4 without an official announcement saying well we knew it was coming to PS4 because everything always does? That doesn't sound any more concrete. There was evidence that the game was crossgen as the retailers suggested before anything more official came out it only made it more credible when it was officially announced months later, the retailer evidence pointed to a PS4 version before anything more official came out. The whole point is that we are looking for evidence of things not officially announced. If all you consider as credible is official announcements then there would be no need to look for evidence in the first place. Just take the companys word for it, there was no PS4 version until yesterday then.
I'd say the "Sony too" thing applies more towards the way they lock up exclusivity for DLC than Street Fighter 5 so both companies go about these things in different ways.I don't even know why SF comes up in every thread regarding Tomb Raider anyway, as they are obviously two different situations. Ono had to go to SCEA himself to get Capcom to agree to back the project, the deal between MS and SE was purely delaying other platforms for an already in development game with 'publishing rights' and other such nonsense.
Its the same kind of scummy practice as MS and EA going behind Respawn's back to make Titanfall a full exclusive without their knowing.
But i guess that "Sony too" nonsense is still around even 2 years later to make false equivalencies.
Considering the fact that they're aiming that release only at PC I don't think they should be too worried. It would've been problematic if the PS4 version had the same time frame though.This. Though it's getting dangerously close to Uncharted time.
Did I stumble upon a Titanfall vs Street Fighter thread?
The thing I do get is you're pretty much trolling ppl who have to wait to play the game. And implying they don't have the right to be upset about a franchise predominantly successful on PS platforms. So yeah, guess I don't get it, but enough to know a troll when I see one.
how on earth would i have access to those numbers? come on now.
That's according to an Amazon listing that offers the game for pre-order on PS4, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, alongside the previously confirmed Xbox One version.
All is according to just the amazon listing. We're going in circles. You keep putting faith in Amazon listings before we even had concrete announcements of any consoles. It makes sense for them to have placeholders for all systems because they didn't know what systems it would appear on.
and we disagree on the viability of having a 360 version. I would be curious to see the split between XB1/360 on TF and FH2.
I always thought of it as a PC game. Then Sony bought up the franchise to prevent Dreamcast and Nintendo owners from having access to it.
For me, I played it on the PC, and then really enjoyed Legend and Underworld on the 360. I didn't get to play on TR games on my GameCube and Dreamcast, not because Sony care more about the franchise, but because they wanted to use it increase their bottom line.
Now, considering the fact that this is only a timed exclusive, explain to me how this is worse than what Sony did that somehow convinced you that this is a Sony franchise?
The following is pure speculation but I think PS4 owners in particular are going to greatly benefit from MS and SE arrangement in the long run...allow me to explain:
The SE and MS deal occured a while ago and may have been made before It was known that the PS4 would be the market leader with almost double the install base as the Xbox One.
Now, did SE benefit greatly from the deal? They may or may not have, we don't know the specifics but what we do know is that TR fans are not very happy with the agreement and that there may be a great loss in potential profit by delaying the PS4 versions release date.
I believe that SE will now try to go the extra mile to cater to the PS4 user base as a result of this decision. There has already been some recent examples of SE showing some favor to Sony and I believe these instances will increase as time goes on.
Again, this is all speculation and may not mean anything but its worth a thought.
Think we had some insider confirmation that this was a last minute deal so square made the deal knowing how well ps4 was doing . But yeah extra content point is still valid .
Ps1 generation says hi.
Question is how last minute and how long ago. I remember that the announcment that it was "Exclusive on the Xbox for the 2015 Holiday" to be sometime ago.
AKA the first time Tomb Raider exclusivity was bought (at the expense of the Saturn).

According to Kagari the deal was made after MS lost the June NPD, then about two onths later it was announced at Gamescom.

Nothing at all
Yeah. If anything, we should be comparing it to FFVII Remake. First on PS4 is pretty vague much like the way Rise of the Tomb Raider has been handled.

It will likely be similar to the original FF7 release:
1997 PS1
1998 PC
I recall Kagari saying the situation is similar to that of SF5, so it may never come to XB1.
PC version will probably be 1 year after the PS4 release.
iirc Verendus on the other hand indicated, that it will come to Xbox One aswell

You mean when it debuted on the PC and Sega Saturn at the same time. Yeah, I was a PC gamer at the time.
That still doesn't get around that fact that Microsoft is doing lighter version of what sony did when TR was on the PS2. It's all business. And it seems to have worked out pretty well for sony using that "shit" tactics.
I don't think exclusive titles are good for gamers. But there have been exclusive titles and competition since the Atari 2600. I have no idea what this is some sort of a last straw moment.

link? haven't seen that one.
