Rock Band 4 announced for PS4 and Xbox One

So what happened to being able to preorder just the base game? I'm only seeing bundles available, and I just plan to grab the USB dongle at this point :/
 
I've seen talk of this here and there, but I just wanted to know if anyone knows for sure if old Guitar Hero equipment will also work with Rock Band 4? I really prefer the Guitar Hero guitars over the Rock Band ones and I have more of those as well. It would be pretty awesome.

Pretty sure it works as long as it's wireless and you have the dongle.

It'll happen. Some stuff to sort out. Honestly, the reason why it's important for us to open up pre-orders for the hardware (and important for people who want it) is that quantities will be limited. Like, for reals. Not marketing "LOL pre-order to avoid disappointment" stuff. Discs, on the other hand, are a different story than hardware.

In any case, you should see pre-orders for discs and digital at some point; we're working on it.

So, I have no chance of grabbing a bundle for my little brother for Christmas unless I pre-order now..,....well thats just grand.
 
I'm a little disappointed that that setlist was fake as there were a bunch of songs I would love to have in the game. But I'm sure the actual setlist will be great as far as I can tell with what they've announced so far. I'll keep spamming Weird Al in the request page though until he gets in the game (and even more after that)

Should we expect a cut off of those bundle pre-orders at some point? I ask as a fan, customer and retail employee who has to push pre-orders. I still need to get my Band bundle ordered but have been saving for a Con I'm currently at. Will be pre-ordering with my next paycheck

Agreed. They're honestly perfect for DLC but Death in particular deserves a song slot on disc imo. They've freakin earned it.

Great idea! There's never been any super technical punk/thrash/hardcore in a Rock Band game before (A Wilhelm Scream made it on RBN at least and Strung Out was in the last Guitar Hero), so any of these songs would be great to play considering they would be super hard on any instrument as well vocals (dat solo in Black Maps plus Strung Out has the best drummer in modern punk/metal). The Clash doesn't fall into this category at all but they just rule. Here's my wishlist:

Strung Out - Black Maps (this would be my all time favourite song to play in a RB/GH game)
Propagandhi - Duplicate Keys Icaro
Lagwagon - Coffee and Cigarettes
A Wilhelm Scream - Ice Man Left a Trail
The Clash - Straight to Hell

I'm cool with DLC being the way to play for me, but only if you plan to release a base version of the game for free and just have it be a DLC storefront. I don't really want to buy a $60 game for probably under five charts that I'd want to replay. And on the topic of hardware really quick, if there is no click I'm going to take my money somewhere else. I'm sure you guys noticed how many of the top players only use GH guitars :|

Play with friends maybe? I also don't believe you FC Sightread most of the songs on the games until the last tier on both games. Just because you can FC doesn't make them not fun to play either. I don't FC all of the songs but I can a lot of them because I used to play so much but I never had a problem with the songs on the disc, there are some I really don't enjoy but for the most part they are fun with friends and some are fun on certain instruments while being kind of boring on others. That's just the nature of the game.

If you don't think the songs on disc and the game assets etc are worth 60$ wait for it to go on sale, that's about the only thing you can do.

But i'm really shocked someone is going to complain when they are including Dream Theater on the disc.

I mean, I'll probably complain to myself, but that's only because I can imagine how much I'm gonna play it with my friends, and how little they'll want to play "Toys in the Attic". :(

Side note, I'd also kill for a Fall Out Boy edition that was nothing but the best of 2000s pop-punk. For the dual purpose of having a ton of great music to play, and seeing people lose their shit over it.

I don't want to promise anything, but I don't think that will be the case. I do know that we are being modest in the number of bundles/instruments we are producing for launch, and there's certainly demand.

"Sarajevo 12/24" - Trans-Siberian Orchesta

These are more so bands I want to see in general. Generally any song would do from any of these. To be honest I could come up with an entire setlist of stuff I want to see

Yeah it's the same song, just the main version on Spotify is only listed is Sarajevo. Wizards of Winter is what I'd expect from TSO but I wanted to rep Carol of the Bells AKA the best ever Christmas song.

The only thing that I would absolutely love to play in either Rockband or Guitar Hero would be the Futurescope Trilogy from the last Weezer album.

Hopefully if they do release more Christmas songs, they put them out around Thanksgiving. In the past they've put them up like 2 days before Christmas. I need to play them the whole Christmas season lol!
