Has there been anything about Robert Patrick coming back? I don't really care about whoever did agent Reyes, I just liked Doggett.

He turned it down. Said he enjoyed his time on the show, but he prefers to focus on his current and future work rather than revisit the past.

I think "Unusual Suspects" is one of the best episodes of the series.

That episode is particularly bonkers because doesn't Richard Belzer play Munch and thus the world of Law & Order and Homicide exist in the same world as The X-Files? I could never get over that (in a good way).

These 6 episodes sure will be interesting...

I just tried doing that and yeah, it fits perfectly.

That seems crazy to me.

You know, now that I am fully possessed by the spirit of the X-Files, and seeing your avatar of my favorite lawyer, it's too damn bad Vince Gilligan was not brought back for an episode, and it gets worse every time I think about it.

On the other hand, it's so fucking great that they went with the "logical" step and
bring back the Lone Gunmen, after naturally having faked their deaths, and Mulder was just tripping balls in that finale, after all they had every reason to want to fake their deaths.
The Lone Gunmen had some great episodes, a criminally underrated superb show, and I hope they
are not just ghosts or some other thing.

Considering most of my favorite X-Files episodes were written by Gilligan, the show returning without him definitely feels bittersweet.

In a way maybe it's a good thing, in that one Gilligan episode might have made the rest look bad...

Pretty much the same as the last one with a short clip with mulder and scully having a brief exchange...with words not bodily fluids, fucking shippers

They already did that in the show. I'm guessing now the shippers are all about Skinner and Mulder or Mulder and Krycek.

Or Scully and Alex Trebek.

So this happened...

Those are my LEGO Mulder and Scully creations, with the real things!

I hope it has earth shattering ratings and X-Files gets rebooted. I know Scully doesn't want to do anymore after this, but what about Mulder? They could always replace Scully.

To me Mulder is more replaceable than Scully. But I would prefer they just let it be if either one decides to not come back.
The heart of this show has always been the chemistry between Mulder and Scully to me. And I'm a bit worried about how they will handle the relationship aspect in these new episodes. Mulder and Scully as a couple didn't do it for me.

Man, it just feels good to see them in their FBI suits. That's like Batman getting into his Bat suit. Time for serious business.

Hello X-Files GAF! I have lurked Neogaf for the longest time last few years infact. I want to give a brief history of myself with The X-Files. I was born in 1992 I consider myself completely absorbed in all things 90s related. When i was 3-4 or so my uncle kept watching this show at night and I eventually started catching episodes of it with him it was a show called The X-Files and the episode was "Our Town" that I sat and completely watched I was fascinated by it I kept watching episodes here and there and started watching it regularly I was so invested in it and watched Millennium all the time too loved both shows. Sadly didn't see the first X-Files movie when it came out on the big screen (did with the 2nd movie though) I loved the show so much and was bummed when Mulder was no longer the main focus I really liked him and grew such a huge crush on him.. This series had such a huge influence on my childhood and i'm so happy to have been born in the time period where i got to watch at least half of it as it aired. When DVDs starting becoming a thing I bough every big bulky season as they came out and boy they were expensive I remember they were AT LEAST $90+ each.

Well anyways I wish we had more than 6 episodes maybe this will do good for Fox and they will bring it back every so often for short seasons/mini series events. I hope we end up with Reyes back but I am kinda bummed TLG are coming back they had a decent send off (even though I do have a thing for Byers.....well and Mulder of course hehe) and I feel this might tarnish some of the good Season 9 had and yeah I really did still enjoy the show in it's finale years i've seen the series from start to finish multiple times and even in recent years maybe it's childhood nostalgia but I enjoyed them and still do there are things that I were would've been different than the way it turned out but so as long as others and I still had a good thing I guess that's what is really important. In any case i'm right here with you guys awaiting this revival and will hopefully be right here talking about it when it airs.

Munch is also in Homicide Life on the Streets. So he is the same character across at least three different series / universes

Edit: Det. Munch also appears on The Wire, and Arrested Development.

Munch was also a muppet on Sesame Street (but played by someone else)

The character of Munch has appeared in more television series than any other fictional character, appearing in nine series on five networks since the character's debut in 1993.

A bit of a tangent but you know what would be excellent? A Telltale X-Files adventure game.

A remake/remaster of The X-Files: Resist or Serve PS2 game would also be cool. It was a really solid hybrid/clone of Resident Evil and Silent Hill with voice acting from the actors on the show. Also the PC X-Files game was pretty great for its time. I'd love to see them modernize that game somehow but I don't know how they would go about that.

I would love a new game. Resist or Serve was actually very good game scenario wise but the gameplay was super unpolished and some of the voice work was really lazy but it would have made a great episode. Now a tell tale game would be out of this world.

I never played that one, I played the crap out of that full motion video adventure game they made though, I think I still have it and some X-Files cdrom encyclopaedia thing

Damn, gillian has aged like a fine wine

I just got Amazon Prime and started rewatching the X-Files pretty much for the first time since they originally aired (not counting the VHS recordings I had on infinite loop during the first seasons).
I'm now 12 again and in delirious love with G. Anderson.
