It won't be his first meeting with Joker. It's implied in the trailer that the Joker killed Robin. He has been fighting for several years so it makes sense his suit is worn.

Uh, he's crossed path's with Joker at least a decade prior. The league hasn't started because there hasn't been a reason to form one and people with Superpowers have been on the DL until the events of MoS.

I really think it's just the picture that makes the batsuit neck look a little weird. It seems fine in everything else I've seen. It's also awesome and might be my favorite looking version in a movie.

The belt works pretty well. I don't know about the cuffs, but overall I can see that playing nicely on the big screen.

I never saw Superman's costume as being difficult to translate into the real world, nor did it seem like a design that needed fixing. It certainly doesn't pose the kind of practical problems that Batman's cowl does.
