Bison had a master?

I think that was supposed to be Rose's master, Master

Double huh?

I want Guy's master then, I bet his flip elbow can hit crouchers.

ahem...

If Capcom is smart, they will only release "Episode 1" of the story mode at lunch. Additional episodes will be released as free DLC later, and will introduce a set of DLC characters that accompany the episode. In the episode, you can play as any of the DLC to try them out, but that's it.

So when Guile is released, there is a role for him in Episode X where he tracks Nash down.

The person that taught him how to use soul power.

Edit: Psycho power, I mean.
Is it a known character, though? Reading his wiki entry now.

From the Udon SF2 comic. Don't know if that's canon.

I might be getting Psycho/Soul Power confused, or maybe the comic made stuff up. I'm talking about the panel above.

My thought was that Psycho power was the Satsu no Hadou version of soul power, but I could be wrong.

I wonder if any of the initial new characters will be old. Like the 3 series got Oro, Alpha had gen, 4 got Gouken and 2 had Akuma. It would be fun to see an old female master.

It'll be nice to see an older female character. Does annoy me that females are stuck in a limited age range and characters that should be older than that range have some plot-convenient reason for looking young (Nina and Anna being cryogenically frozen between Tekken 2 and 3. Ivy's aging stopping because of her alchemy and exposure to Soul Edge in Soul Calibur).

I've always wanted to see an older looking Chun Li, it'll most certainly be like this though:

play tobal and bloody roar

I think he's going to be a weird fit with the no changes in attacks based on range. I could see them making some changes to his overall kit.

Doesn't Dhalsim already work like that? IIRC at some point (super turbo?) all his attacks became either close or far, depending on whether you were holding back or not when pressing the button.

Not a big dhalsim guy but that part at least should work with no changes.

Yes.

This isn't weird. Dhalsim has worked this way in several games, and in Alpha 3 it's the way every character works in Vism. It's a much better approach to normals, imo.

When's my Joseph / Caesar reference character Capcom?

A villain with a Caesaresque design would be godlike, especially if he kept the long headband and nifty gloves.

Surprised you didn't include Necalli in the pillar men :3

Necalli's a lot more feral than the Pillar Men, who even at their least composed still have a regal, subtly intimidating air to them. Necalli just seems kinda unhinged by comparison.

I dunno, the devour-our-our line and general description of him as a 'savage hiding a keen intellect' makes me think a lot of Santana personally :3

I agree. I've always hated proximity normals and single button throws.

I disagree. Single button presses always felt like the game was mind reading me, and when they missed it was like there was some serious failure in the universe.

CvS2 had the best of both worlds, one button throws and whiff animations.

Proximity moves I can take or leave. Usually like them once I got used to a character, but when facing a non-typical character, or learning a new one they may be annoying.

Santana always stayed cool though, even while being blown to smithereens or openly mocked by Joseph. Necalli seems like he relishes the destruction he causes rather than having the kind of dignity and poise that the Aztec Fitness Gods exhude.

He's still a super-cool-lookin' character, but I think he's got more in common with say, Akuma than Gill or Urien.

Yeah, fair enough assessment I'd say :3

Meet the Goketsuji sisters...

Whiff animations on one button throws are fucking stupid. The game doesn't know what I wanted to do, and sometimes I'll be punished when the game guesses wrong.

Whiff animations only make sense on one button throws. This is why two button throws and proximity normals are the best. The player has to commit to every decision, not let the CPU decide what's best dependent on where my opponent is in relation to my character.

Nicalli is a great character design for a relentless demon type character, certainly better than Akuma in the intimidation factor. Really looking forward to the others, I was not a fan of the ones introduced in SF4 but then again was not a fan of that era of SF at all.

Well, after playing SF5, I really hate SF4 now.

Adon spamming Jaguar kicks and then when you finally get a KD he backdashes and runs away -_-

Rolento and his stupid jump mechanic making the timing for AA different

Twins normals out prioritizing everything lol...

PP points weird as hell scaling system lol...

So ready to give this game up, just deleted it.

Imagine if you never stopped playing ST, A2, A3, CvS2, or SF3 and continuously tried to play SF4.

Thats impossible, he wouldn't even fit at the bottom a berrel , he's too lanky and tall.

Put him in , dudes sprite was grovin to every song in 3rd strike.

He is silly looking but I do like his "Outta my way" voice and I'd take him over Dhalsim anyday (Im so sick of all the original 8 SF2 characters).

man, I'm really feeling the old timers right now. I mean, it's just too many systems, it's like there's certain groups of characters that use different tools. I still love a good Gief, Blanka, Honda, match, when I get beat, it's just like "man, that was some good poking." Spamming jaguar kicks and me miss timing my low forward so I get hit with three of them in one round? Man, I dunno, I can't attribute that as easily to the other guy kicking my butt lol.

I don't think it was because the roster was so small either, SFV just feels really really good again. back to basics. If I do reinstall SF4, think I'm just gonna use Ryu exclusively and work on spacing, AA, zoning etc...

Shame I missed out on third strike though, for some reason, I only played it casually.
