Maybe it varies by area, since mine she literally just opens a bing page with listing of movies. But how it is on yours is how I want mine.
Or Windows 7.
The point is that I don't want to have ads built into my OS. App suggestions are basically ads. I also don't want to change the way I deal with third party software, because I don't think Microsoft has anything to do with that, as they haven't for the last 30 years.

Anyone here tried updating a Windows 7 running with ubuntu? Installation was successful but after that booting failed and it reverted back (fine).

No, I typed "movies".
That's pretty weird then, Cortana is best in the US, UK and China, and it's in Alpha everywhere else. But even in Canada I can get her to give him details about movies, weather and flights.
Try doing a few tests like ask her to tell you a joke or sing you a song. Then after that, ask her to look up the nearest movie theater.

It felt really good to jump in a party on Xbox Live and tell all the old friends how amazing it was not to be ripped off using the service for free! 
Seeing issues all over with this...think servers are getting hammered...also issues with store...I would try again later

Updated and so far the only thing not working is my webcam - but thats due to a failed driver update during the upgrade process

Just upgraded from Windows 8.1.
1- I had the icon, did the reservation, but it wasnt showing me the option to install yet.
2- Downloaded their MediaCreation Tool and installed it in a pen drive.
3- Upgraded instead of clean installation.
4- Nvidia driver failed to install, but right away, before reboot, I downloaded it manually from Nvidia website and started the installation.
5- Everything seems to be working perfectly fine!
I have not tried any game yet (WoW and GW2 are downloading files). But the system itself seems way better then Windows 8.1 already! And I liked Windows 8, so I'm loving it!

Still having high cpu usage problems. Tried turning off windows defender , p2p updates , running safe mode and restarting. Still have no solution.

During the update your windows 7/8 license also becomes a valid windows 10 license. So after the 1 year period you can just get a windows 10 iso and use your old windows 7/8 key. Thats why its important to make the update while its free.

My question is, why didn't I get asked what partition or HDD to use prior getting to the actual install?
Right now I assume Win 10 is being installed on my old 2TB C: HDD where Win 7 was, however I didn't want to have Win 10 on that HDD since it's old and slow, I was going to keep the drive for backups and storage, but I wanted Win 10 to be installed on my new and currently empty 500 GB SSD.
So, how can I get Win 10 on my SSD after this install finishes in about 2 hours

Hell, I JUST received and installed my GTX 970 yesterday. Glorious PC Gaming last night. Then this Windows 10 upgrade which has been a giant lag fest so I'm bailing. I'll wait a few months and try again when there is some good information on fixes/workarounds for various problems.
