Life is Strange | Spoiler Thread

I just noticed that max's dad also got a anonymous text warning him about max being nosy.

apparently I didn't talk to Daniel outside of the dorm in my playthrough.

Nathan is seen storming off campus apparently and Jefferson is hovering around the campus in the same time frame. Daniel says Nathan was suspended?

samuel = dexter on the poster in the boys dorm. nice reference

Dorm encounter with nathan, he keeps the gun if you call warren off and he says his dad is coming. If you let him beat warren then chloe grabs the gun.

stella is definitely fucking sketchy

two moons? each moon from a different dimension? the two different worlds colliding/merging? Chloe will meet her wheelchair self? be mad at max for letting her dad die?

Think there's going to be a rewind to that selfie with Warren?

What actually happened with it though? I don't remember. Like does it show that Max even has the picture or is it with Warren? I'd also imagine after being drugged they would take Max's stuff.

It seems likely that there's some picture you'll need to warp through, but I'm curious to see how it ends up being done.

What I don't understand is why Jefferson dosed Max but shot Chloe, does he know about the time travelling or is there another motive? (Dark Room?)

I think Jefferson is doing this for art reasons. Thus, maybe he doesn't find Chloe to be a good subject for his art, but he wants Max to be.

Honestly, the Jefferson has powers theory feels weird to me.

He was kind of perpetually 'fascinated' with Max in all of his dialogue with her, both in class, and her 'ability' as a photographer.

Not saying he'll spare her, but she probably moved up on his list of 'targets' for the dark room when he found out she and Chloe were snooping.

So I saw this image and damn it's creepy as hell. Click the spoiler tag for the image.

Image is too small, what am I looking at?

Warren has it. Max will escape Jefferson somehow (powers coming back as drug wears off), track down Warren, find the photo, go back in time.

The whole Jefferson being at the party and announcing the photo contest winner was random as hell. Other than that it was a pretty fantastic episode.

can it be a coincidence that a huge storm is about to hit the town and Max is inside a bunker? Did they know this was going to happen?

some thoughts about some of the characters who may play a bigger role in the next episode:

Nathan - possibly knocked out by Jefferson, possibly dead, might help Max escape
Samuel - had some connections to Rachel that are as of yet unexplored
David - maybe the only person that could track the whereabouts of Max, might free her in the Dark Room? I could see him kill Jefferson and then you travel back in time to save Chloe and maybe even Rachel
the principal - drinks the same brand of whiskey as the bottles you find in the Dark Room which could be a hint that he's somehow involved

Unfortunately, she's already in the Dark Room, and likely bound as well. I don't think she could rewind far enough to get out. Her only hope really is talking Nathan into helping her or hoping David works it out.

David is tracking Chloe's car, so that could play into things if he sees her car behaving strange (either the midnight trip to junkyard or it staying there all day if Jefferseon doesn't move it).

Edit: He'd also be able to see that Chloe's truck went to the creepy barn just before too, so might investigate there if he thinks something is fishy.

She doesn't need to rewind far enough to go back, just enough to create a situation where she can escape. For instance, we've seen in various puzzles that she can get items, rewind, and still have them. So I'm thinking for instance, a scenario where she baits Jefferson to get ahold of say, something sharp to cut her bindings, rewind, and she can work on freeing herself while he's doing an evil monologue or something.

Also for people that may have wondered, you can rewind the phone being locked. Unless you're doing a no powers run through I guess

Good point.

Unrelated, but I also think at some point you're going to go to Pan Estates, just based on how much it's discussed in this episode. Maybe Nathan is hiding there and we can check out his father's office?

Or maybe that corpse in the ground wasn't Rachel but Chloe from an alternate timeline or a future version of the current time line :O

I don't think "good guy" as much as well meaning asshole. Like Frank, he's a dick but not like teenage rape and murder tier like Jefferson and whoever he's hanging with are.

does anyone agree, that David is going to turn out to ultimately be a good guy?

The 'damage' has already been done in the extent and the degree to his spying. I think it's been narratively straight forward in his genuine intentions since episode 2 when he steps Max aside in the hall at Blackwell for their talk.

I've always tried to be understanding and forthcoming to David while still siding with Chloe every time. He must know that my Max doesn't hate him, when he moved out of the house I made it clear that this wasn't the outcome I wanted

Going back and watching the ending again, I think Jefferson killed her purely because she tried to pull a gun on him.

Edit: Is there an option where Chloe doesn't have a gun? If so it probably is personal then.

Pretty sure Chloe always has to have a gun by that point because if she didn't when confronting Frank, she'll have one by the end of that scene. Or, at least, that's what happened in mine as Frank gave her the gun back after everyone became partners.

So yeah, might have just been self-defense.

I wonder if Frank will tie into anything. The amount/impact of the outcomes there are pretty massive, considering you can go from him and his dog being outright killed, to him being shot/stabbed in the leg, to outright helping you and texting you good luck.

He's always been a good guy, just doing it the wrong way. He's been a hardcore military guy, so he doesn't know the social norm way of handling these things.

Exactly, I don't think he specifically had it in for Chloe, it's just that she had a gun. She would've shot him if he didn't shoot first.

I hope so because I rewound so many times trying to keep him alive and friendly lol.

Cross-posting from the OT:

I KNEW IT! I'm glad I blamed Jefferson in the principal's office.

I have to wonder if he would have still shown up had I didn't blame him, but I don't think the story changes that much based on decisions.

Episode 5 can't come soon enough.

EDIT: Frank could have died? Wow. I guess at that point you'd just take the client list from him? Also part of the 13% who found David's code, yay.

Episode 4 was definitely the weakest for me.

And that first choice was very traumatizing, yes, but for me, it was an absolutely no brainer. There is no reason to kill her.

If you kill her, Max is doing it knowing that she's going to rewind in three seconds, so why bother anyway? It makes no sense. None. And killing Chloe isn't even earned. You spend two days with your parapalegic friend, and you think you know everything about her life? She's obviously depressed and obviously suicidal. (And yes, people are allowed to make decisions to end their life.) However, Max has no authority here. It's such an overreach that I find it so morally reprehensible, specifically considering the conversation you just had with her father.

I also don't get the burning of the picture. Seems too histrionic. And really weird to remove a good safety valve just in case anything goes wrong. Also, did Max not want to go back in time and say, "Hey, be careful not to die and don't buy Chloe a car." Max being satisfied with just two timelines doesn't make sense for me.

But anyway, I feel that the first major decision, despite, how much I hated it, really needed to wait another five or six minutes. I would have liked a lot more background. Maybe her dad could have said something to Max, "Yea, the bills are so expensive. And the doctor's are thinking of needing to do another lung transplant. Her original ones collapsed in the accident, and her body has rejected both of the matches so far." Something that gives concrete evidence of her suffering and imminent doom. But we really don't get that. The decision almost comes out of nowhere.
