Mighty No. 9 Will Not Release In 2015 (According to GameInformer)

It was actually pretty relevant this time around, considering the post that post was replying to described him as a creator.

Not to mention that the sentiment is very, very true and we shouldn't forget that

you mean the bait post because that guy surely didn't mean it . Inafune started as an artist and MN9/redash fuckery aside he is still part creative .

a detestable one at that

I think everyone assumed Inafune was a safe bet, if we're supposed to be backing projects based on the people behind them

The man had 3 Mega Man games going(Legends, MMO, Universe), not one of them came out. He doesn't have the best recent track record of getting shit done.

Because the fact that he resigned from Capcom had nothing to do with it... Also, what about Yaiba and Soul Sacrifice (one a turd and another well remembered but they launched under his banner).

So people are bitching cause they decided to delay the game instead of release a buggy mess.... I thought we were over that delays were a bad thing. Oh wait its cause its cause inafune right.

You could just read the thread instead of lumping everyone together.

But oh wait gotta start up that defense force mentality.

Soul Sacrifice was part of why I trusted this. If I knew he was part of Yaiba...

Soul Sacrifice is still my fav Vita franchise, especially Delta was so good. I wonder how involved Inafune actually was.
Either way I'm happy he enabled its existence.

I'm sure people will still find a way to defend Inafune after this mess.

The man has yet to do a single thing right in 2015.

I want the game to be good, so whatever, but this sucks. I was looking forward to playing it soon, and this game has already had way too many reasons to dogpile on it already... it's doomed. By the time it finally releases, it will be made an example of by the internet, and all the frustration/resent will laser focus in on it.

That is more on capcocm than it is inafune . we dont blame kojima for PT getting canceled . I will say that megaman universe did look bad and I could not wrap my head around the whole mmo thing .

I will say that leaving Megaman legends to fend for itself in capcom was a pretty fucked on his part . he should have completed it and then quit .

His record in his final days in Capcom is a mixed to be fair...

Yeah, I messed up there. It was pretty much "not Mega Man being made by the guy who made Mega Man and was being stopped by Capcom that also made that awesome Vita game? Sold!" Definitely rose tinted glasses.

This is some conspiracy laden.......nonsense? Like I can't say there isn't a 0% chance this happened but you're pretty up fan-fiction/cynicism lane to come up with this given the state of MN9 when we last saw it and the fact that Red Ash and MN9 share like very little development staff.

Conspiracy nonsense? No, that's just game development @_@ The most popular example I could think of right now is both Silicon Knights and diverting funds from the X-Men game they were making to work on the concept for an Eternal Darkness sequel(Or a game like it), as well as Gearbox taking money from their Aliens project to finish Borderlands.

It's just speculation, if this delay is true then it's interesting that it's happening when it looks like the Red Ash kickstarter is going to be a failure. No need to get so defensive.

If this delay is true and they told the retailers before telling the backers, that's just an insane level of disrespect to show to your fans and supporters.

The fact that they were trying to capitalize on their fans' remaining goodwill by asking for more money while trying to keep a lid on this delay makes it several orders of magnitude worse.

I hate to say it and it's unfair to put this all on him, but Inafune's name could potentially end up being one of the most toxic credits in the industry after all of this. Red Ash and MN9 both being mind-blowingly fantastic might be the only thing that can save his reputation.

Compare how mighty no. 9 looks to the upcoming Jetpack Squad which is being made by 2 dudes.

Well, is still unfair because we don't have direct confirmation outside "Gameinformer being owned by Gamestop" (that people are pretending is infallible). Not mention we had a similar drama with the Collector Edition weeks ago...

That's why the first thing I said was, "If this delay is true." It may very well not be.

I feel arguing that Comcept is taking money that should be going to Hyde to give more money to Inticreates to finish a game that should already be done (and looks it from the E3 builds) needs a bit more to go on due to how counter-productive it is in the long run (how would Red Ash backers feel), how deplorable it would be and also because Mighty No 9 already has a publisher so if they needed more money they could ask it from a trusted source. The fact that it has ever happened at all is why I can't say there is a 0% chance you're right but I think the circumstances are different enough that I just can't entertain this speculation right now. I mean, again, you could be right but I feel you have to entertain some serious cynicism at this point in time.

Sorry if I sound overall defensive. To be fair, I think people has enough reason to being wary of Inafune regarding how he maneged his KS projects. But, more often than anything, people that come here to complain are more about how "he fucked Capcom" than actually anything else.

Hell, Gunvolt should be the prove that his team can still do a good MegaMan game but is rarely mentioned in MN9 threads.

Do we need to start some hashtag and send it to Adam Boyes or something?

I like the sentiment but ti's not a business problem. It's a technical one. The guys doing Open FL (the engine my game ultimately runs on top of) are working on a console export but I wouldn't make promises until I see it all working in the end.

I would give myself a 65%(/s) chance of being right~ Yeah it'd be sleazy for them to do, but they already secured funding for Red Ash...and yet they keep their page up. It's not really all that farfetched. for them to do. After all this delay doesn't really make sense seeing as how it's been delayed already.

Man, what is going on over there?

Ignoring the snark, this misadventure has just been... clumsy.

Hopefully the game ends up being good. All will more or less be forgiven if the final product is legit.

Game making is hugely dependent on talent. These people got it, man.

IntiCreates is pretty talented.

In this case, I'd bet they got dealt a bad hand in management. Having to develop a game that could scale to every currently released system likely didn't help.

How many post have been about the actual speculation about the delay than just "lolInafune"or "looked like shit anyway?"

I don't know. Count.

But it's certainly not "everyone". Just like every topic, ignore the bad and discuss with who you want on what you want. This thread is no exception.

A delayed game is eventually good.
My backlog thanks you graciously, Inafune.
My wallet, Inafune. He thanks you as well.
Lots of Mega Man games to play before this comes out.
Take all the time you need, Inafune.
A bad game is bad forever.

Is easy say it when you don't see every MN9 thread devolving in:

If Red Ash got $100 for every time that tweet was posted, maybe you wouldn't be getting half a game.

this.

That tweet and its conversation sorrounding it has devolved in just being posted for the sake of being mean spirited than from people that actually want to see the game for its own merits

Yea but Kojima didn't start making like five Metal Gear spinoff games at once while signing off all Konami's IPs to nobody Western devs and shouting to the hills about how Japanese games are dead.

How is Japan doing outside mobile? Also, you understand that Kojima actually opened a big western studio and his name was in a western Castlevania relaunch and a Silent Hill game made with a mexican director and a Walking dead actor?

I was so excited for this game when I backed it.

Now....I still want to play it, but something has killed a fair amount of hype for me.

The constant negativity by people than doesn't even remember what MegaMan games Inticreates did and Inafune's greed being a black hole of shitty anime projects and half assed KS?

Because I know that feeling...

I'm sorry the topic has things not to your liking, but self control is key here.

Another backer here, I really should have listened to one of my friends who refused to join in when this kickstarter went live because he was skeptical.

Capcom didint cancel the games because he mouthed off about japanese devs and too many spinoffs is the megaman franchise 101 .

megaman legends 3 was mainline .

i'm just really confused
if anything i hope this delay is to improve the graphics which a lot of people where criticizing
i enjoyed what i played of this so i doubt that this will be a bad game
but why the delay?? i want answers dammit

To this day, I'm still blown away people backed this project. Capcom is in this sad state because of Inafune. All the shitty decisions, and out sourcing games to Western developers was the work of Inafune. I laughed when I saw the kickstarter thinking people would turn away from it. Turns out I was wrong, and it got funded.
