So, Drake is being accused of using ghost writers. Fuckery inside.

he releases a banger, everyone's all over it.

meek would need a mikewillmadeit top shelf level beat, and celph titled quality level jabs to really stick because at this point (this thread as proof) drakes pop appeal is apparently larger than his rap appeal so his fans and the rest of pop culture are going to side with drake regardless. not saying meek's diss track was bad. it wasnt, but it wasnt good enough to sway the social media crowd thats gathered around this beef. yes this is a hiphop beef but its clearly being watched by many people who could care less about hiphop and the only person theyre familiar with is drake so his sound on both diss tracks stuck more. personally i think meek handeled this like shit and it showed how he isnt built for this level of exposure whereas drake knows his way around it. meeks diss track basically proved he didnt understand how this beef was being perceived.

Yeah and releasing a banger is so easy nowadays...especially if everyone thinks you are a joke.

yeah because that's what i said.

i'm just saying the attention span of the audience couldn't care less, if you release a good song, people will be all over it like a tramp over hot chips.

the fact no one cared about Aubrey having ghostwriters demonstrates that "credibility" isn't the be all and end all.

This isn't stopping nobodies career man,

and people thinking Meek has no one left.

He has Ross behind him, big people behind him. He was famous before Nicki came in. He's sold big before all of this.

He's not a nobody. He's not a totally new artist. He's been established.

He came around the time Drake came in, they are from the same era.

People will remember here and there, but that's it. Nothing substantial will be left of this in a year.

Meek never showed up

Meek Mill is sitting in bed worried about Drake popping out of his closet.

He has some bangers. I dont know why he didn't just fucking RAP like this. This is fire.
Because he let his team rush him into doing something stupid. You can tell that diss was done in one take, isn't mastered or polished, and sounds rushed in every way. Dude needed an actual producer, not a beat maker.

Ross or Diddy could have steered him in the right direction, for instance. I guarantee both would veto that beat as well as the Sonny Carson dialogue samples. Shit sounds like a 2006 Dipset mixtape throwaway. He needed clean, clear vocals on a dope beat. If he had that no one would be clowning him. Instead it would just be Drake stans v Meek stans, with everyone else taking sides depending on their own biases. The mainstream was always going to side with Drake. Meek should have been able to win the streets.

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
Meek would have come up with something better if he was in Philly and could have take more time with his diss....being on tour is probably not the best environment to come up with a solo diss, if MMG rappers or someone else had backed him up maybe...but alone.

Probably thought he could ride on the Meek vs. Drake wave for a couple of weeks and push his album sales, with Drake not responding unless Meek drops a first track...and before he realized it he was already dead.

He should have hired a ghost writer.

Drake probably runs his shit like a business. He has other people coming up with concepts like the baseball diss cover art.

Meek needs better people around him. No way should he have left fans waiting for a diss on a radio station when Drake just releases it on Soundcloud.

Finally heard both "diss Tracks"

Both pretty weak, but in front Meek's sad SAD attempt, Drake's eclipsed em. not even close

Meek was always wack, love it when these shitty rapper who manage to make some money on a couple of club tracks think they real MCs.

Finally have a reason to use the phrase astute observation. Good point though. It does speak to variety of main stream folks commenting on the beef from mayors to what-a-burger. Meek really was not well to deal with this the way he thought. Drake is a actor he is seasoned and rehearsed in his actions you can see it in the way he carries himself.

Funny thing is Meek's track had more insider information but but Drake still beat him in quantity and quality with his tracks. Meek came out talking and swinging with intention but no clear strategy. The media swelled his talk up causing Drake to released Charged Up. Meek kept talking and Drake said ok i'm gonna hit you with Back to Back. By the time Meek swung with Wanna Know it was too late he was stumbling. I would surmise that with what I mentioned previously about Drake being seasoned and rehearsed in his actions and his apparent really a normal guy at heart insecurities he has quite a few diss tracks on deck for multiple people just in case. Chess vs. checkers.

Yeah i completely agree - no way he comes up with all the Back 2 Back Baseball stuff himself in a couple of days while working on an album and prepping for OVOfest. Didnt he also just signed that AR-AB dude from Philly ? Maybe they expected a Meek fallout.

His team started gathering stuff as soon Meek started his twitter rant...probably even earlier if they suspected a fall out. Definitely felt like Meek just activated a trap and got killed.

Meek has been known to whine about no tweets before too. I think meek thought the ghost writing was gonna be waaaaaayyyyy more serious.

Not directed at person quoted.
I don't think drake needed a team for charged up or back to back. If you followed him back in 06-08 he had alot of rap talent. He grew up doing music, putting in time w 40 and chubbs, etc. He doesn't have a brand new entourage or anything. He's working w the same people since he started, that by now I'd never be surprised w how many tracks he has laying around ready to go, beats/bars/themes. He consistently releases what I'd say are throwaways and freebies. Like the person I quoted said, chess vs checkers.

I like to think your entourage plays a part in what you got. Aubrey has been quoted numerous times bout his close friend being someone he listens to alot in regards to how his music sounds.

So i would thinkg throwing ideas around or saying hey, what bout this reference etc. And basically Aubrey finds a way to incorporate it. It's hard to believe he runs w the same friends from early on (same music interest and taste, backgrounds, etc) and not be the type to come up w things together. The chemistry had to be crazy high. My best friend and I have regular convos where we can finish each other's thought.

Two things I realized... We live now in an Era where a mainstream rapper night jeopardize his career and relationship because of a retweet he didn't get. Also i wouldn't be too shocked Back 2 Back enter the Top 100... Especially if he performs it at OVOfest

It's been a long time since Meek last tweeted.... Maybe PR took over for now.

Meek has been on instagram. Even spazzed on a Hot97 program director the day he dropped Wanna Know.

This is probably the wackest rap beef of all time... The only thing that could be any more wack is if two Tyga's went at it against one another.

I don't think more people are taking Drake's side in this because he's more pop or whatever. I think he's getting more support (as he should IMO) because of how this weakass, bullshit beef started with Meek whining about his album not being tweeted.

If you are complaining that Drake is winning because he's a bigger star and more mainstream and popular, then to me you are overlooking how this started and damn near justifying Meek's actions at this point.

Incredible.....Jesus.
Standards have dropped. I feel old.

Maybe you set your expectations too high. Drake isn't exactly a super lyrical, aggressive battle rapper. He did his thing.

If anything, Meek is the one that came out looking terrible.

If anything, I would've been intrigued by a Ghost/Bronson battle on wax. But Ghost obviously took it hard and took it off wax.

Lmao at incredible. Look at "diss" responses like those from Eminem, Nas, Big KRIT to call them incredible. Drake's back to back is the summary of this twitter/instagram garbage tier beef: crap.

You know what the sad thing is? Control dropped almost 2 years ago and no one has even come close in terms of impact and quality when it comes to diss tracks....AND THAT WASNT EVEN A FUCKING DISS TRACK. He challenged everyone to step up their bars and only KRIT and Cole stepped up.

Back to Back is dope. No, it's not Ether, but it's solid (and hilariously a hit also).

There's middle ground between best ever and shit. Calm your dusty selves down.

Back to back is pretty good. Really though that beat is dope. Plus there are some pretty good lines. I wouldn't say incredible, but it's pretty good.

Well Back to Back is at number 4 on iTunes Singles.

Apparently he has a new song called Right Hand? Sounds bad.

He had a couple new ones debut on the OVO Sound Apple radio show. Charged Up, Right Hand and Hotline Bling.

Hotline Bling is really nice, though it's an R&B joint.

still doesnt change it was an overall wack back n forth.

Its not about being "super lyrical", Pac was'nt, even NAS or KRS wasnt. Its about making a banging track with memorable, creative and stinging disses. Not twitter bars

this shit was forgettable.
