I get that people are sour, and I would be too if a prized feature was cut, but people are essentially saying that Harmonix is doing this solely out of spite, because there's no other rationale that can be put forward for a decision like this if you reject the "it's too resource [time/money/developer] expensive to have it ready for launch relative to the sales it would bring at launch or later" business econ decision or the "it polled very poorly" marketing decision. I mean I wasn't happy when head-to-head was cut for RB3 but it was very clearly a $$$ decision and one that made sense, unless I convinced myself Harmonix was just lying about the feature's (lack of) popularity and cutting it because of, uh, something.
I don't think anyone believes Harmonix have any kind of malicious intent for dropping online, they obviously have their reasons for cutting it, but we the fans should also be allowed to point out how disappointing it is, and how much it affects our enjoyment of the game. I still feel they are too vague about their reasons and that they are relying too much on the survey that they did. There are also other factors they're not including like how broken RB3 Online was which scared a lot of people away, and how many people used the survey strategic to get other more important features which was in the danger zone like DLC compatibility. Before the news broke the chance for online being dropped hadn't even crossed my mind, it was a total surprise.
