Dark Souls 3 Trailer (Gamescom 2015)

I don't participate much in the Souls threads, as I like to play them solitary and figure everything out on my own, but I feel like I'm in the minority in that DSII had my by far the best boss lineup in the series.
People hate humanoid enemies, even though they often have the more varied and interesting movesets compared to the non-human ones (in all Souls games, actually).

Dark 2 had a great palette now that I think of it
Absolutely. And it did that without the somewhat excessive color grading DS1 used.

It's a Souls game so I'm gonna get it. I hope it's good. I was super excited for Bloodborne, but I'm not feeling this as much. I'm sure it will be great, though.

I know this is meant to be a turning point in the series, right? I'd love to see them wrap up the Dark Souls 1 and 2 lore and take us to a whole new separate setting in the next game. Cyber Punk Souls or something.

DO WANT.

I don't, they're my favourites. People are weird.

The best bosses were still the humanoid ones.

I'm really loving the two bosses shown off in the trailer, the tall lanky one especially.

I still believe that the most exciting fight in BB is watchdog.

In any case, BB has the best non-humanoid bosses in the series.

People can rejoice and finally use 1000 arrows to kill bosses from afar.Or snipe a bunch of enemies with bows. People can finally save or waste colossal amounts of time not wanting to fight a hard enemy with range. All is fair-play in these games so do what suits you. I really don't see a shortage of play styles coming for this one.

You always had that option in every previous Souls game. Demon's Souls is notorious for its many cheap outs: even the hardest boss has a zero effort solution and you can simply sprint passed every mob.

I don't think people hate humanoid enemies. I think they just didn't like DS2's boss selection, and a large part of that was the bosses feeling same-y.

But people don't hate humanoid bosses for being humanoid. Bloodborne's a clear indication of that.

How does it work, Sony put the money to make something fresh and cool and then FS make a sequel called Dark Souls? :D
Let's say I'm interested. Not excited as I just played Bloodborne and this would be the 5th "Souls game" in 5-6 years, but interested.

Watchdog, dude, fucking watchdog.

Ebrietas is damn fun, too.

BB has amazing boss selection, all around, is the living proof non-humanoid bosses can be lots of fun at the level of some of the best humanoids. A souls game didn't have such good non-human bosses since Flamelurker.

I expect DkS3 to keep that legacy.

It looks really great, but I have to admit that there were some points in there that specifically reminded me of Bloodborne more than Dark Souls.

Agreed. But if they're honestly taking the best parts of Dark Souls and Bloodborne and putting them together for DkS3...oh wow, yes fucking please!

Dark Souls 2 is a ridiculously good game, but I have to disagree here. I've felt as if the bosses have been mostly downhill since Demon's Souls. There are notable exceptions like
Arotorias, Fume Knight, Sinh, Ornstein & Smough, etc.
I thought Demon's did it best because most bosses had some sort of mechanic that needed to be understood.

It seems most bosses now are wait for opening and then attack. Whereas I really enjoyed the
Old Hero from Demon's because he was blind, but used hearing as his source to attack.

Dark Souls lore with Bloodborne combat? Fuck.

I honestly tried DS and was never ever to get into it, but this looks like it takes the best of both worlds. In... so in.
