Dark Souls 3 Trailer (Gamescom 2015)

There were no backstabs in Bloodborne. You had to parry the enemy to make them viable for a visceral attack.
There are backstabs. You just have to charge R2 to do them. It works best for sneaking up on enemies but you can do it mid combat too with slower enemies (The Kidnappers were easy to get with it after some of their attacks or their charge up).

Ah yes, I only do those to the pigs though.

Not really, you had to charge the R2 attack on the enemy's back, then the enemy would be staggered and you could go for a visceral attack.

I guess you could say you simply are staggering it, but iirc it is a backstab.

It's okay. I also forgot about those charged attacks from behind. I never used those past the pigs. All about side stepping and countering.
Better yet, side stepping, countering and backstabbing! :p So satisfying to pull off a backstab mid combat in Bloodborne because it's not an easy thing to do.
I guess that's good to hear b/c it means Bloodborne PvP isn't Backstab Souls
I can't imagine it being possible to pull off a backstab in PvP Bloodborne with an even half competent player. Takes too long.

Hope the areas have more variety, it's all dull & colorless from the trailers.

Rolling looks exaggerated, reminds me of Bloodborne. I'd rather not have bloodborne 2 reskin.

Doesn't look anyyhing like bloodborne. Medieval dark fantasy and characters design make this an obvious Dark Souls game.

The blood and movement look inspired by BB though. That's a good thing.

Speechless...honestly one of the coolest looking videogame related things Ive ever seen

I say this about all the Souls games (and Bloodborne). Nobody does truly bleak, worn, gothic horror like they do. Which is surprising, to an extent, given the abundance of medieval themed games out there. Souls is one of the only to actually keep armour, outfits, weapons, and so on generally very proportioned and based on real world variations.

I've said it before, but the Souls franchise is as close as I've come to the aesthetic of Diabo and Diablo II.

You know what Dark Souls 3 needs?

Gwynevere.

My lore is rusty, but the real Gwynevere was wed off to the god of fire or something, right?

Well we need to find out what happened to her... for... uh... plot reasons.

Yeah.

God this looks so good. Granted, I still need to play Bloodborne and maybe DaS2, but I have time.

Combat looks very fast.

Easy mode roll is back :/

Love the aesthetic and models, but the gameplay looks like all I didn't enjoyed of DS1 and Bloodborne.

Need to see more gameplay to be sure.
What do you mean by easy roll mode? I hope you're not referring to invincibility frames. That's how it works in every other game.
