The Marlboro was kinda cool but having the battle be a few seconds of Bad Breath and then the Game Over was just wat

They should have at least showed it as an in-game battle

Yeah, no battle UI even popped up. I mean... what was that really?

Makes you wonder why Nomura was taken off this project because it doesn't seem like Tabata is doing much better at getting this out of the door.

Yeah I'll be honest, when Kagari mentioned the Malboro fight I was expecting to see more combat mechanics like the HUD selecting spells and stuff.

This was not a good presentation. They messed up by not prefacing the trailer with 'Teaser', so people were let down, and the ATR's entire questionnaire could have been skipped because they didn't answer a single fucking one honestly. The Malboro fight was the bare minimum they had to show for it to even register on any scale of significance, but it certainly wasn't a major reveal of anything, and certainly not a reveal of the game systems missing in Duscae.

If Square announced FF XV was switching to UE4 and starting from scratch with Nomura at helm and initial vision intact after he finishes KH3 and FF VIIr, and also that they're renaming Final Fantasy XV to Final Fantasy XVI and vice versa, with FF XVI's (former FF XV) target release year being 2020, I wouldn't hold it against them.

Probably more unfinished towns, like in the past Active Time Reports?

Maybe another look to the combat arena they shown 30 times already but this time with more magic spells and a bunch "we heard your feedback!"?

Ah! and add a bunch of new artworks so fans can speculate for months and not think too hard in the fact they barely saw any new real content for months now.

They even surpassed my pessimistic predictions.

Glad to see that even after the reboot it's still funny to follow this game and watch them scrounge up random snippets so they at least have something to show lol.

I honestly don't know what you guys were expecting, and I'm pretty sure I'm better off for it.

I was literally expecting nothing, I didn't even know about this ATR and the trailer until today.

Yet I'm still disappointed, mainly because they redesigned Regis, I was fine with having no news, but fucking again and again with what was already established since 2007? Man, just make a new game.

So this IS like Versus after all!

This is too much to read. Can someone give me the tldr version of why this was bad? I missed it.

We have a release date! We swear! we aren't making this shit up because the game is in development hell!!

Airship DLC!!

30 seconds of duscae footage

Tabata and friends drinks beer as they saw the hype train explode

So FFXIII mark the beginning of Final Fantasy's director curse.
Toriyama
FFXIV 1.0 dude (forgot his name)
Nomura (kicked out)
and now, Tabata

No wonder Kitase and Ito don't want to be 'directors' anymore.
Just sit back, be a 'producer' or 'exec producer' and watch the money flow in because people are still going to buy the FF games. Cush! ;)

Disappointed all around. I'm not even going to countdown to PAX because that's already doomed to be a wash. But, what about TGS? Did they say they were going to show off more story there?

Is it bad that I would feel more confident in the game if that happened? At least the I'd feel better about the story being closer to the original concept videos.
