Ronda Rousey: I can beat Mayweather in a no-rules fight.

Well, she's finally gone and flat out stirred the hornets nest. For those unfamiliar with the situation Ronda and Floyd have been chirping at each other through interviews, social media, and other outlets for a while now. Rousey just did an AMA and had this to say

"Do I think I would legit beat Mayweather in a ruleless fight?" Rousey said. "Floyd is one of the best boxers of all time. He would definitely beat me in a boxing match. I unfortunately don't get into 'matches.' I fight for a living. In a no rules fight, I believe I can beat anyone on this planet.

Boxing is a sweet science with strict rules that I respect very much and aspire every day to improve at," Rousey said during the AMA. "But you said ruleless fight, and that's my honest answer."

Its been something hotly debated here and really everywhere on the Internet for a bit now but as far as I know this is the first time she's flat out said it as far as I'm aware.

Hey either way the drama has been fun

It's a good thing that she's saying all of these things and it will never, ever happen.

I'd love to see them work around it as a "sparring match", though.

Well, no duh. Mayweather is a boxer, not an MMA fighter. Kicking, takedowns and grappling are not what he trains for.

why is she talking about boxing rules if the fight would be no rules...Floyd would be able to do whatever he wants too...

whats the weight difference like 20lbs? thats all that matters if theres no rules, if she locks in a submit he's tappin or its night night. If she gets hit shes gonna be in a coma.

Shes a multiple combat arts champ.

Floyd isnt.

Its not a controversial statement.

Ronda fights in cages where the gloves they use barelynprovide any barrier to pain and is accustomed to getting hit with knees and elbows.

Floyd fights in a ring where his opponents are wearing 10oz of padding over the only things theyre allowed to touch him with..

I think she can take a hit just as well as anyone.

Exactly. I've said this since this nonsense first came up.

Boxing match, Mayweather wins. MMA, Rousey wins. Why? Because that's what they train in.

But lets be real though, even if it was a boxing match Mayweather would still wait until Ronda is 5 years past her prime

Ronda weighs over 150lbs in fight camp. In all honesty she's not much smaller than Floyd at all. Actually possibly bigger than him

I know that it would never happen, it couldn't happen, period.

But, imagine what if.

Can you imagine the possible PPV buys?

The first five UFC's pretty much proved that Wrestling, and Ju-Jitsu are superior to every other fighting style when put in a no-rules situation. So yes, I truly believe she'd kick his ass in a no rules match. She does need to go bald though(Kimo learned that the hard way).

she fights at 150? that might be more than flyod uh oh bruh..

No she fights at 135 but MMA fighters have huge weight cuts for MMA. Some as extreme as 30 lbs. It all comes from college wrestling

An MMA fighter can weigh 20 - 30 lbs more on fight night than they did at the weigh ins 24 hours before.

You know those elite special forces? But like the top class of that, the guys you will never hear about. The one doing all the crazy missions and pulling it off. The impossible training and all of that. Would she be able to beat one of those guys? (no rules)

If Floyd doesn't slip out of that first takedown and get a solid shot in, I honestly think that she takes him. Once his back hits the mat, he might was well be in the water with sharks. He would have no idea what to do and she would have him in a submission hold all too quickly. If he can land a solid punch as the fight starts, he would have a chance, but I bet she can take a few blows better than he can avoid a takedown.

The guys that are trained specifically to kill?

No, i don't believe so.

I wish Rousey would stop this. Even if she probably could, there's ZERO benefit to Mayweather accepting such a challenge. Granted, he's a bullying piece of crap that hits women and picks boxers past their prime, but if he WASN'T and was a PR angel, were he to Rousey, it would look awful.

Call me sexist, but I still don't want to see a guy hitting a woman. Frankly, for this fight to kill all controversy, he'd have to put on thorough beat down to eliminate all doubt and that's just...gross.

So yeah, I don't get why Rhonda keeps saying this over and again. And I don't even like Mayweather.

Floyd has 15 lbs on her. I'm sure she has a lot of skill but this is like a WWE promo. Operating in a fictitious setting. Never will happen, he's limited in his response. As she has shown, one real vicious hit and anyone can be dazed. I wouldn't bet on her chin. I know he's vulnerable with MMA style fighting but he has to land one blow to her temple and he outweighs her. Probably could go up in weight.

There is no way for him to win this argument and she's looking for publicity. This whole argument is ESPN level bullshit.

'Who would you take, MJ from 93 or Lebron?' I would prefer to leave bullshit barbershop arguments in the barbershop. I hear enough old men talking loud about nothing ever couple of weeks.

In a street fight? Hmm. Floyd would be too fast with his hands and movement, but if he grapples with her, he won't know how to check a hip toss and he's never been trained how to respond while on his back, as far as I know.
