Worth noting: "arrest" does not necessarily mean "conviction." Also does not factor in the severity of the crime i.e. Aaron Hernandez.

There needs to be a scaled point system to really evaluate this, for example 5 points for a felony, 3 for a misdemeanor, maybe add bonuses for convictions, how many victims, etc

The Bucs don't try to cover up their player misdeeds. Nice to be a fan of such a respectable organization.

Yep. Arrests don't really mean much without context.

This is pretty misleading though. I mean, yeah, the Pats only have five entries, but one of those five is a convicted murderer and seemingly likely multiple murderer. I don't think I'll ever stop feeling sick having cheered for Hernandez.

Also, someone like Hernandez who was arrested for what he did is way worse than just about anything else.

Can we get a graphic for owner/executive arrests?

They did draft a top tier quarterback with a ton of legal baggage though. (bucs fan)

Minnesota got most of them from that drunk booze cruise 3 or 4 years ago, right?

That was over 10 years ago. Of course you'd think that would have gotten the franchise to clean up its act, but they still seem to struggle with having a bunch of trouble, even recently.

Edit: Here's a list of the actual Vikings arrests, I believe: http://nfl-arrests.pointafter.com/d/a/Minnesota-Vikings. Seems like a ton of drunk driving/ other drinking related incidents.

As a Vikings fan I am actually surprised.. seems at least the last year was pretty good ( AP was not arrested right?) Hope Zim can move us down that chart..

I would like to see the number of NFL players' arrests compared to the country average, or even compared to other leagues.

I feel like sports media is trying to paint some sort of inaccurate narrative here.

In case you're curious about who got arrested and for what, check out this database:

http://nfl-arrests.pointafter.com/

Did so for the Lions' arrests. Most of the 11 mentioned are for DUI or marijuana possession, though there's two domestic violence ones and Aaron Berry's stupidity being the most serious of them (assault while brandishing a gun). Most recent one was in April and the guy got released the following week.

It also reminded me how much of an idiot Mikel Leshoure was ... and that somehow, Titus Young did all of his stupid criminal things after we released him. Good God, that guy was a headcase and I'm frankly shocked he didn't end up in jail while on the team.

I think the rate is actually average. Of course the general population isn't making the kind of money they do...

Well we DO have the real life Captain America:

<3<3<3 Sexy!

Need some thugs to win a Super Bowl. :(

Vikings have never won a super bowl

You are in luck! FIveThirtyEight and NYT did some studies on this last year during all of the NFL's issues in the summer and fall:

THe full data is more than just this graph, and in so far as the poverty rate in the NFL is zero, the numbers are probably higher than similar demographics, but still resoundingly less than the national average.

It's not, it's about half the arrest rate of general population. Though if you just picked out general population making 500k+ annually I'd bet it's higher.

Only one of the Giants 3 can really be considered a big crime.

1) missed child support payments
2) knife in luggage (switchblade)
3) DUI

Now, if you go back to 2008 the Giants have 10.
