Is there anything I should note before getting a Madcatz TE2 and replace the joystick with a Korean one?
Can anyone tell me why the Hori VLX is so expensive? I don't plan on ever buying it but I'm curious about that.
.
Nah, that's the HSS-0130. The VLX is a fair bit smaller than a real Vewlix panel.Because it's huge and made of mostly metal. It's literally a panel from a japanese arcade taken off and made into an arcade stick. It is by far the best stick out there.
It should also be noted that the VLX also suffers from a somewhat delicate surface finish. It wears and scratches very easily.Nah, that's the HSS-0130. The VLX is a fair bit smaller than a real Vewlix panel.

Lolpart of the authenticity. needs a complementary ash tray imo.
I didn't realize the Venom came back in stock. I just checked and now I might order one. It's about $105 with free international shipping from Amazon. I miss my Mayflash v2 after selling it to my brother. The Kai I replaced it with is nice but it's not the same.
Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn. So I installed the white bezel on my rivals stick, can you guess my theme?
White acrylic & white dustwasher from Art
Seimitsu LS-40 w/white shaft cover
White gamer fingers w/plungers from the clear gamerfingers
It serves it purpose but the fit is not perfect. The acrylic is not as opaque as I thought it would be. You can see the metal panel underneath it (that grey rectangle) and also gamerfingers are super loose on art's acrylics (they rotate easily).
Nice to see you went with the atrox. What made u choose it over the te2?
I like the shape better. All I want is a nice sturdy box with a flat top, some buttons, and a stick.
Also, the TE2 is harder to get.

That sounds pretty cool, but I don't think it's $300 cool.
That's lame for what's supposed to be the premium fightstick (I think).
pretty sure the VLX diamond is the only version not prone to fading (someone confirm).

Guys I bought a Venom PS4 stick from ebay and its stops working after ten minutes or so and the only way to get it working again is to take the usb cable out and plug it back in. Any ideas?
VLX is a fantastic desk stick, but if you're looking for a lap or travel stick it's not great for that.
I am having problems with my (360) Mad Catz BrawlStick. I'm trying to use it on my PC but the left and right stick don't work. The D-Pad registers fine, but when I switch it to LS or RS I get nothing.
I am running Windows 10 and when I go to Setup USB Game Controllers it only shows the Point of View Hat and buttons 1-10. Is there anything I can do? Is this a Windows problem? Hardware problem?
Sounds like it's getting locked out due to not being a "verified" controller. The PS4 runs a check every 8 minutes of any controllers plugged in and will lock them out if it doesn't see them as genuine. This is why PS360+ sticks only work for 8 minutes atm.
I'm not familiar with the Venom but is there a PS3/PS4 toggle switch? Do you maybe have it in PS3 mode?
Sorry to ask, but why not just stick to the d-pad mode?

Hmm, yeah that's unfortunate. No changes were made to your PC?No need to apologize. I used it for more than fighting games. Some games default to the analog stick when it detects a 360 controller and others aren't detecting it at all anymore. I hadn't used it in a while and it was in my closet for a month or two and when I took it out it was like this.
Just curious, can you plug it into a Windows PC by chance? I'm wondering if it shows as a PS4 stick there or not.Yeah it has the toggle switch and it's definitely in PS4 mode. Tried it in both usb ports and on different games. Always the same result. I'm sure there's a few gaffers that have got the stick and don't think anyone else has had an issue?
In addition to what I said I also like my electronics to work correctly when possible. If there was a simple solution I'd love to know it. I figured there was nothing to lose by asking here. We have a lot of experts in this thread. The LS and RS settings are only for situations where you, for some reason, want to play a game with a digital joystick that normally only supports analog sticks...like, say, Super Mario 64.
Is there some particular reason why you need this feature? I've owned several of these sticks and have never once used it.
Edit: I was too slow.
I installed Windows 10, Added the Mayflash Wii U Pro Controller Adapter and probably made other changes too numerous to list or factor out.Hmm, yeah that's unfortunate. No changes were made to your PC?

It might just be a PCB issue, but there's not much you can do about that other than a return or replacement.

Just finished my fourth vs stick. It's not quad modded like the previous three. It' has MC Cthulhu, Xbox 360 WWE brawl game pad, and Hori FC4 a for rj45 tri-modded arcade stick. Basically, the same as the others in art and added side and face plates.
It sounds like my original reply may have come off with an attitude; I apologize if so, as that was not my intent.
Not knowing how the internals work, I might be completely wrong here...but try switching the setting while it's unplugged, then reconnecting it, and see if that makes any difference at all?
Yep, those are sweet. Those KOF VS sticks are fire. That case is so good.

I'm thinking of making my own arcade stick. I can do the shell with the measurements at my work but pcbs?
Let's say I get a PCB to connect to both a PS3 and a 360.
What would I need to do to upgrade it to PS4 and One level or are there PCBs like that already?
I basically followed this guide at srk, but I used the Imp v2 instead of the imp v1: http://forums.shoryuken.com/discuss...lhu-imp-xbox-360-dual-mod-tutorial-diagram/p1
MC Cthulhu:
![]()
main pcb that played most of old retro consoles (PS2, PSX, GC, Saturn, etc.) and PS3. Thanks to the screw terminals, this was the main pcb that connected all the pcbs and the stick together. I would solder the inputs, ground, and voltage (5V) from extra pcb, (in this part it was the 360 fightpad) to the back of this one
Imp V2 board:
![]()
This small pcb allowed me to switch between the mc Cthulhu and xbox 360 gamepad automatically. The auto detection feature works only if the mc Cthulhu is connected to it. I always added a rj45 jack to this so I can easily connect imp v2 to the rj45 passthrough.
Madcatz 360 fightpad:
![]()
The pcb for the 360 console. I would connect the inputs, ground (black wire from pcb cord) and voltage(5v, red wire from pcb cord) from this pcb to the back of the mc Cthulhu with a soldering iron. The D- (white wire from pcb) and D+ (green wire from pcb cord) would connect to the imp v2 board.
This the main diagram that I followed the most from the srk guide for the dual mode:
![]()
The quad mod followed the dual mod setup, but the 360 fightpad was replaced with hori fighting commander 4 and mkx fight pad and I added a dpdt switch and spdt switch.
The dpdt switch would control the d+ and d- wires from the imp v2 to the Hori FC4/ xbox mkx fightpad's d+ and d- wires.
The spdt switch controls the mode of the mkx fightpad, which allows me to switch between 360 and xbox one.
I would connect the inputs, grounds and voltages (5v) from both Hori FC4 and xbox mkx fightpad together, then connect them to the back of the mc Cthulhu.
The quad set-up would look like this:

The picture shows how the D wires connects to the dpdt switch from the Hori FC4, xbox mkx fightpad, and the imp v2 board and how the spdt switch connects to the mkx fightpad.
Again, the inputs, grounds and voltages (5v) from both Hori FC4 and xbox mkx fightpad connect together and then they connect to the back of the mc Cthulhu.
Nah, that's the HSS-0130. The VLX is a fair bit smaller than a real Vewlix panel.

I really wish I knew how to go about getting custom artwork for my sticks. I'm not even sure what art would work well for them, considering the dimensions.
