Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth PS4 - Cross-Save, New Game+ and More Difficulty Options

Hello everyone :).

There has been news about Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth regarding new content for the title for its western localization :D. The game will have a new game+ option, extra difficulty options (addressing the original version's difficulty problems regarding lack of challenge) and Cross-Save with the PS Vita version of the game.

Here is the link proving this information here: http://gematsu.com/2015/08/digimon-...-adds-new-game-difficulty-settings-cross-save

Credit goes to Gaffer names2hard4you for giving me the link to the story :).

The big issue is that this is ONLY confirmed for PS4; no news of this working with the Vita version of the game. Cross-Save hints at these new features coming to Vita, but it could work just like how it did with SAO: Re Hollow Fragment; you can upload your save from the Vita game into the new PS4 version with a majority of your stats/levels/ect carrying over but the Vita version didn't get patched with the new translation or content despite that version being the reason why a PS4 version was made in the first place (the Vita game was an unexpected success for Bamco).

Will update the OP once more information regarding the Vita version is announced but until then, this new content is only confirmed for the PS4 version of the game.

Both versions are launching early 2016 for the PS4 and Vita in NA and EU (NA has a retail PS4 version while EU is digital-only for both versions).

Edit: A poster here that talked with Bamco stated that the Vita version will have all the new features the PS4 version will have :D.

Vita version should have the new features, Bandai Namco told me.

I'm glad to hear this news as from what others have said, the weakest part of the game is how easy it is, so difficulty options sound like an awesome addition.

If the difficulty stuff is only on PS4, then I'll play on PS4, if not then I'll play on Vita. It has cross-saves, so I'm not that worried.

This really sucks, I know guys :(.

The news just broke out today, so once more information comes in and Bamco confirms this for the Vita version, I will update the OP with that news.

.....The fact we even are worrying about this is really fucked up honestly X(; after the success of Hollow Fragment, Tales of Hearts R and other Bamco Vita games, we have to worry about features being locked out of the Vita version due to a PS4 version needing something 'new' to stand out :(.

I didn't mind when Re:Hollow Fragment pulled this (as it was 20 bucks at launch and the Vita version was a year old) but this better not happen with Digimon :(.

Which is ridiculous since, without the vita versions testing popularity they might not have made it out of Japan.

If it's cross save, wouldn't the Vita version need these upgrades too?

That is why I stated in the OP more information should be coming soon; this is cross-save, so that must mean the Vita version should have these features too.....

Which is why I also stated what Re:Hollow Fragment did with its save-transfer too, as that is what Bamco could be pulling with Digimon.

That's pretty good they're adding stuff to fix one of the game's few complaints.

Hopefully they will bring it to the Vita too. Kinda weird not to.

I mean, the versions are launching alongside each other, I don't know why they'd not put it on both versions. Hollow fragment launched on vita ages apart from the ps4 version. Very different format.

That is a good point, which is why I'm leaning on the features being in both versions of the game. Just put PS4-only in the OP due to no confirmation about the content being in the Vita version as of yet :(.

If I have a PS4 by then, great! If I don't, then Vita better get that shit too. I did read that the game was very easy, so difficulty options would be nice.

Yeah, I noticed that after I posted. I didn't read it properly. It's a bit worrying looking at what happened with Hollow Fragment.

"More Difficulty Options"

That right there could seriously raise this to a really great game depending on how well it's done. Hopefully the Vita version gets it too.

Bad news for Vita only users, maybe they'll come around to it later.

But I'm fine with just a PS4 version personally, 60fps remoteplay works like magic for me.

Sigh. I would prefer to get the Vita version. Luckily I recently acquired a PS4, so if the extra features are PS4 only, I can choose that version if I want.

Excellent, the only real hard part of the game for me was when I did the Master Cup challenge.

I plan on putting hundreds of hours into this like I did with my import but this time most of those hours spent wont be backtracking trying to figure out what i'm supposed to be doing.

I'm still happy we're getting any version at all. Kind of sucks if they're not gonna but the extra features in the Vita version, but if that's true that's just more motivation for me to get the PS4 version which I was already kind of swinging towards.

Did they confirm whether the game is subbed or dubbed?

I didn't know the vita version was still coming west all ive seen on amazon was ps4 version fingers crossed for full vita features too

It's subbed, I believe.

Vita version is digital only, so you can't preorder it on Amazon.

I'm hoping the Vita version should have these options as well, wouldn't really make sense to have a cross-save of NG+ on a difficulty that doesn't exist on the Vita

Now this game could also be challenging?
Amazing that a Digimon game delivers everything I wanted Pokemon to.
One of the titles I look most forward too.

I would love some extra Digimon to give something for New Game+, but it seems like producing the Digimon was a real toll on developers so it's a long shot.

Hotdamn, this is perfect. I only got about 30 or so hours into the Japanese version. Will just wait until this seeing as difficulty balancing and cross save are included. Such a good game.

Still wish it had physical for Vita. Probably going to import a PS4 copy from NA.

I'm happy there's more difficulty options, considering the only major negative I heard from people about this was that it was a bit easy. Not only am I happy it is coming over, I'm happy they're expanding on it with the localisation <3

So excited. They put out some English screens on twitter.
