Heavy one for me again this week.

Also. just decided to through and update my post Secret Wars subs. I'm not sure if I have more or less comics on my subs now. Argh.

Did captain marvel get completely dropped? Or have i been missing issues being released?

Secret Wars #5!!!

I went back to read Hickman's New Avengers run and it is SO good. It's fascinating reading it knowing where it all leads to.

Can someone explain the end of Ultimate End #4 to me?

Why are they fighting? And why is Miles of significance?

No one knows what's going on in that mess of a book

This pretty much. Why they're fighting? No idea.

Miles significance? Little bit easier to answer.

At the end of Secret Wars #4
Strange scattered the heroes to different worlds
and Miles was likely sent back to the Ultimate Universe.

I think it's safe to say that the Manhattan in Ultimate End is the last remaining remnant of the 1610 universe. Miles knows the truth since he has been privy to the events of Secret Wars.

Hopefully, he'll come back and make things better for that world. It's just annoying that we had to sit through four issues of uselessness and nonsense.

4 issues in and people are still confused about where Ultimate End takes place to say nothing of understanding the actual plot. Not a good look Bendis.

I'll give bendis credit for having
Doom basically not raze the 1610/616 world because he's from 616 and probably feel some nostalgia. Then again I still don't think people noticed the different in typefront/cap lock for the 616 and 1610 characters

Domains :)

Though the characters who know what's going on use worlds and domain interchangeably.

@Zeus Molecules - It's one of the few things I love. It's a neat little addition and does help the reader keep track of which universe the characters are from.

Ultimate Punisher is just
blasting away at everyone, harkens back to the first few pages of Ultimate End #1.

To me, it seems like the whole point of that domain is for 616 and 1610 to fight each other. It's really apparent as the issues go on that continued exposure to each side is making them more aggressive against each other... which is probably why Doom didn't intervene because it's like a Battleworld within a Battleworld.

If that's all they wanted, they really should have just made it a last days title instead

Well, (SW#5 impressions)
That felt a bit short. It's a good issue that addresses stuff we've been wondering about for four months, but ultimately it's mostly a setup point that transitions every piece of the board in position for that last stretch.
The art is still so good.

(Actual contents)
The MM bomb theory was on the money. I'm a bit annoyed that even after dedicating a good chunk of the issue to an explanation, things are still not 100% clear on how Doom acquired bits of lost universes.
So, we did get a confirmation that 100% of everything was remade by Doom, they're not just physical bits he kept somewhere.

I love that collision course Valeria and the Foundation seem to be on, can't wait for her to run into a Reed.

Loved it.
You know what I really love about this Secret Wars is just how grand and large scale the event is, but how much more personal it all really is. That's what sells it for me.

Yeah, after such a long wait SW#5 felt pretty thin. The exposition was stuff that had already had to be taken as read for previous issues to make sense.

I hope the wheels aren't coming off like most Marvel events

Had to be a slow issue finally, I guess. It just sucks that we have to wait so long in between issues. What interested me most was the
quick glances of where the Life Raft heroes were
. I'd much rather have had time spent on that.

This issue put on more wheels than a god damn Jiffy Lube factory what in the dang

That cliffhanger makes it impossible for me to stop reading this series.

Too much story potential. Like,
Where are the Reeds!?! What's Swan's plan? How is Ms. Marvel escaping...?

AND WHY THE FUCK DID STRANGE PUT BP AND NAMOR TOGETHER!?! Talk about fucking over the guy you gave access to your info/necklace.

Inhumans: Attilan Rising #4
So there's towers in each realm broadcasting mind control signals and keeping everyone compliant and loyal to Doom. Interesting.

Well,
we found out where some of them are.

OMG OMG OMG OMG
NIGHT MACHINE AND NOSTRADAMUS
!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, that was my favorite part. I'd swear
we had already seen Tesla in the background or something in a previous issue though.
Whatever gives me more SHIELD, I'm all for it.

Also, I'm curious to see what happens in the Barony of Egyptia lol.
Namor is going to ruin that shit again.

So SW #5 was clearly a set up issue and as such was a step down from the craziness of #4.

So from what I read, I guess that everyone in Battleworld is made up of those Beyonder bits that Doom, Molecule Man and Strange collected. As we expected, the Beyonders on the cover didn't really mean that they would take an active role in the story.

I was surprised to see that Molecule Man is still alive. I wonder if one of the Reeds will find him. Speaking of which, we never saw where either Reed was sent unless I am mistaken.

I suspect the fates of some of the other raft survivors will be addressed in the spin-off books. No way we are going to directly see much of their stories in the main book with only 3 issues left.

Nice slow issue. Gave us time to catch our breath after the last one, and also a great set up for the run to the finale.

Thanos's grin at the end. Is he going to just venture over the wall, or is he going to break it down and unleash the zombie horde on everyone?

Good issue.

A bit of rehash from the New Avengers stuff, but for folks who haven't read that it brings that all up to speed. Would have loved to see more of where the heroes were sent to, but it's good setup nonetheless. Loved the introspection Doom went through, but more importantly I loved the return of MM. It really ties the whole thing together. And it does signal the unraveling of God Doom's grip on reality.

I think like the 158 issues or whatever it already is is a pretty solid length. It's nearly all fantastic, except maybe for 2099.

I just want the main title expanded. Still too many actors in play to finish the thing in 70-100 pages.

I mean, five ishs down, we've only lost the mage and that useless genetic dead end.

In that issue there's a panel showing
where some of our heroes were thrown
. Can you guide me to the relevant books, if they exist?

Some of them are already known.

Star Lord is the Star Lord in Star Lord and Kitty Pryde.

Thor is a part of the Thor Corps, so you can assume which title she'll be in.

Miles is already in Ultimate End

Thanos will be in Siege. He'll most likely end it and continue on to the main series again.

The Reeds, Namor and T'Challa, and Black Swan will most likely be in the main titles. Maximus and the rest of the Cabal are question marks.

And someone may have to fill in the blank for Peter Parker.

But that can't be the "real" 616 Peter since the Ultimate End Peter has been in Ultimate End since #1, before the raft opened.

You're assuming that Bendis gives a fuck about any chronology apart from his own.

That's a bold assumption.

I'll readily admit to not paying attention to which Peter is the one running around in UE. Since he had that whole bit about "muh muh muh seekrit identity", just went with him being 616

I guess I don't see why
Miles landing in UE
at the end of the last issue is a big deal if one of the raft heroes is already there. Not to mention Peter hasn't given any indication that he's from the raft.

I don't know. Trying to figure out what's going on in that book is a futile endeavor. I hope that's not 616 Peter. He deserves better.
