He is not running. He will get his clock cleaned by Hillary and her machine. Trying to stop the potential "first woman" president is asking for a beatdown.

In all seriously, he is probably considering it but the dynamics of Hillary and if he can beat her will weigh heavily on his decision.

I'm ready for uncle joe, he's a lady's man.
He sure is.

His son recently died. Would anyone really be in a good state for something this demanding? I would hope for him that he takes it easy. He's been through a lot.

Biden as the establishment insurance policy just in case something goes awry with Hillary's campaign in the near future? I could see that.

I don't see him running though.

Can we just get whoever wins to pick Joe again? I just want to see him eviscerate the other VP candidate in a debate yet again.

If he does run, I wonder if Obama would support him over Hillary. I know Bill Clinton helped Obama with his 2010 reelection, so this would be an interesting decision.-

how many people here would actually vote for Biden over Sanders, or Clinton?

I am NPA. If he ran, I would change to Tastycrat JUST to vote for him in the primaries.

I want that man to be the next President of our Republic. From first choice to last, it would be Biden, Sanders, and Carson for me; can't stand anyone else.

I believe in Joseph Biden.

With Hillary on the ropes, it makes sense.

I think he'd have a better shot for sure.

I wish Jerry Brown would run, but he's a bit too old at this point I think.

Supporters see what they want to see but a good reality check says Joe Biden isn't running. He is gonna finish up his time in elected office as VP. His name and legacy will become synonymous with the Obama presidency and he will ride into the sunset with Obama. He will protect what he's been a part of.

Right now large swathes of the democratic party are in the "not feeling Hillary/searching for an alternative" phase. This too will pass and all this looking outside of the declared candidates will fade once the primaries really get started.

Maureen Dowd does not a "surge in momentum" make.

There is literally no reason for Biden to enter the race. Go home and be a family man.

What's this? Democrats panicking? Their star candidate potentially in an embarassing trouble? The only other people in the race being a self-described "socialist" and a trio of bland nobodies? Begging former candidates and really former candidates to join the race? What's the narrative on this going to be like?

*looks at Trump making an utter buffoonery of the entire GOP establishment*

Oh, nevermind. Democrats in 2016 are solid by comparison.

For real though, I don't know of anyone else who has the charisma
balls
to stand toe to toe with him.

It would be fun to see Biden go all-in on a debate. I'm sure Biden was coached by all his advisors to go easy when debating Palin so he wouldn't come off like a bully. And he ran circles around Paul Ryan when debating him.

A Biden/Trump debate is something to dream about.

I doubt he would be popular with minority voters and in the end may up splitting up the non-Clinton vote. Clinton has been assaulted non-stop by Republicans the last 6 months while Biden and for the most part Sanders have been left alone.

If there comes a point where Republicans think Clinton is no longer the Democratic frontrunner Biden will be getting the relentless assault and I don't think he has the minority stronghold to fall back on.

Joe Biden strategy for White House run taking shape

CHICAGO — With his blessing, confidants to Vice President Joe Biden have begun strategizing about travel to early primary states and identified potential donors who could bankroll a campaign even as he remains undecided about whether to pull the trigger on a late-entry 2016 run for president.

The moves are a sign that after months of speculation, Biden is taking a few significant if small steps toward a presidential campaign, according to sources familiar with the discussions. Biden’s strategy, the sources say, would be to focus on South Carolina while almost writing off New Hampshire, where both Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders have considerable footholds.

Meanwhile, Biden’s circle has identified what they see as their potential voting blocs: Reagan Democrats, Jews, an LGBT base that largely credits him with pushing President Barack Obama into supporting gay marriage, and Rust Belt voters. They believe he’ll benefit from better stump skills than any of the other candidates running.

The read on Biden has changed enough in almost a matter of hours that a level of anxiety has set in among the Obama orbit, who out of personal affection for Biden are hoping he won’t run a race they feel certain he’ll lose, only to get pummeled along the way. There’s also some worry about the position that a Biden run would put Obama in, spending the next few months tangoing around questions of picking sides between his vice president and former secretary of state.

Several Obama campaign alumni, meanwhile, say they believe there would be a rush of their former colleagues to a Biden campaign — including possible defections from staffers currently working for Clinton in Brooklyn in a mix of Obama-Biden loyalists and junior staffers who’d until now seen her campaign as their only chance to work on a presidential race.

Ehh, Clinton would still win the black vote but Biden would definitely significantly cut into her support there. The guy already is known and has the automatic cred of being Obama's VP.

The real Biden coalition is Amtrak riders, the media, and Democrats who don't like Hillary Clinton.

Come to think of it that's all sort of the same thing.
Pretty much this.

If this gets serious Obama's gonna have to sit Joe down and explain to him why his political ambitions are gonna go nowhere. I fear Biden's ambition is going to get the best of him.
