No big nerfs: the slowest killing weapon in the entire game, with a theoretical TTK of 1.2s of sustained critical shots is SUROS Regime (Focus Fire). For people worried about the nerf, here is exactly what Bungie had to say about it:
If anyone doesn't know here is how Gjallarhorn works.
- Rocket is fired.
- Rocket has impact damage if target is hit head on (this doesn't happen often due to proximity detonation). This damage isn't being nerfed
- Rocket has explosion damage from the primary shell. This damage isn't being nerfed.
- Rocket releases 10 Wolfpack rounds that act as small individual seekers.
- Wolfpacks track targets and detonate. All Wolfpacks together equal about 35% damage of initial rocket explosion. This is the number being nerfed.
So basically, a single Gjallarhorn rocket was doing about 35% extra damage. It's still going to do extra damage, just not 35% worth. Knowing Bungie, they don't nerf things in large quantities. I'd expect the Wolfpack rounds to be dropped to 20% damage at the lowest.
Also, there's about a dozen Wolfpack Rounds. Most do 255, but occasionally you see a few doing 122 (might be off on that one). Anyways since they track and all hit your big target, Gjallarhorn does more than 33% extra damage over a regular RL. It's a bit more than 1.5x rockets but less than 2x (hence why it takes 3 rockets to down Crota's shields but only 2 Horns). I've tried to get a consistent number but counting the Wolfpacks is super hard.
