Unkrich is writing it still and Toy Story 2 is my favorite one anyways.
I remember there was a thread about it here and most people agreed Toy Story should have ended at 3. Considering the shorts Pixar has made have been great, maybe they can make a 4th one that's decent.
That's news to me! I had figured he was still busy with his Day of the Dead film. Which reminds me, we have heard nothing about that film in quite a while.

Lasseter's turned out some of the least of Pixar's filmography. Him returning to Toy Story, especially after the amazing job 3 did wrapping everything up has me pretty ambivalent.

Agreed. The shorts, especially Partysaurus Rex, have been pretty fantastic.
Yeah it was brought up alongside Inside Out and Good Dinosaur. I'm hoping it didn't end up like Newt and got cancelled. I remember reading one of the reasons Newt was cancelled was because of Rio. Maybe Book of Life is the reason we haven't heard about Unkrich's film?

True but Cars 2 did generate $2 billion in retail sales, and Cars overall made $8b just at retail (2011 numbers).

I was interested in Newt before it got canned and I think Life might have affected Pixar's film. Also, I heard Epic was gonna be a Pixar film, I would have love to see their version of it.
