Life is Strange | Spoiler Thread

That's what I thought when I first saw it but, reading what other people have said since the episode came out, they could be one and the same, right?

If Max was in -that- dark room, and knew about the events that happened there, she wouldn't speak so candidly about it through SMS.

Besides, she's a photographer, her being in a dark room isn't anything strange or abnormal.

It's not abnormal, but who says that she would know about the terrible stuff that goes on in there? By being affiliated with Nathan in that timeline, she could be using that place as a resource for her photography, that's all.

Frank's out of the picture, I'd be very surprised if he has any role beyond texts or an epilogue scene. His scene in episode 4 was clearly his big culmination sequence, similar to Kate in episode 2 and Victoria in Episode 4 as well. Victoria will play a role since the big consequence of screwing up doesn't end with her death like the other 2, but I'd wager it'll be on the smaller side.

Well, the butterfly icon showed up after Frank's scene. That means it will have consequences. I don't think that's only a SMS saying "I'm counting on you!"...

Are there some good LPs for this that I can watch? I usually like seeing others reactions after I've played.

PewDiePie (yes, no major screaming or anything. he actually gets way into it. but he tends to skip through a lot of examining stuff and mainlines the story.)
HarshlyCritical (good commentary and he also gets into it. and he reads almost everything)
FarFromSubtle (they get into it but also tend to do more second guessing and off the wall jokes. but they also try to find everything.)

i didn't watch any of them in full. just skipped to my favorite moments to see their reactions.

Super Best Friends! They went into this game probably looking to make fun of it and they seem to actually like it at this point.

Why did they go into this game looking to make fun of it? On the surface, there doesn't really seem to be anything that stands out for that, other than perhaps Chloe and her blue hair. Seems too "normal" for that kind of approach (maybe it being grounded was the reason).

Just for me it seems like that's what they go for in regards to general appeal for these kind of games. Beyond: Two Souls and stuff like that seem to be pretty popular with their viewers.

Thanks, that makes sense. Giant Bomb has the same approach with some games they turn out to appreciate in the end, though those tend to come from an odder place on the surface (e.g. Contradiction, Persona 4, Deadly Premonition...).

I don't know if they went into it looking to make fun of it at the beginning, but if you look at the youtube comments for the first videos, their fanbase wasn't too excited about a Life is Strange playthrough

Everything has a butterfly thingy, it doesn't mean it'll be far reaching or important. A lot of them just slightly change character dialogue or interactions. For instance, blaming David for Kate doesn't really affect much, besides make him annoyed at Max..

Of course not ending a scene with a character having a bullet lodged in his face is going to change something, but it'll be, like I said, a scene with him in an epilogue.

I wouldn't be so sure. Not yet at least. There are a lot of options the writers can pursue and not follow an exact rule.

Maybe I'm being too presumptuous of them. I haven't watched the full series, but they're usually always joking around no matter the game. Especially since Matt and Liam are playing it too, Liam knows his stuff and can be serious but with Matt they usually just fool around.
I WAS EATING THOSE BEANS

You know it would be interesting if you dont rewind after chloe kills frank. So that when the games over and everything with Jefferson, time travel, and tornado/temporal paradox is resolved Max and Chloe get arrested and sent to prison. Only now Max can no longer rewind. It would be like a twilight zone ending.

The fanbase isn't excited about any game that tries do something different. Same thing happened with their Her Story playthrough and all David Cage games (even if that was mostly justified because they're really not great).

Just caught up with episode 4.

Got some crow pie for the people who thought it was dumb to blame Mr Jefferson :p. I KNEW it! Kinda ruined the last moment though, even though Chloe just died I was almost cheering knowing I was right about Jefferson :p

Also been on #TeamWarren since the beginning and I'm glad he's getting better and better every episode. He was acting weird at the party though. I think he somehow knows about Max' powers and he pretended to be drunk so he could take that picture to help Max.

Hope episode 5 comes out on october 11th, that's when the final events in the game play out too right?

Holy shit.

Good point.

That's probably the release date!

Twist: it suddenly was already out for two years, there are reviews, documents and bought copies, but nobody remembers ever playing it.

Maybe the world ended on its release and someone rewinded? Shit, we better stop the apocalypse so we can watch the ending.

Or Max stops the apocalypse and we have a 2 year timegap and shows us what is going on in Arcadia in October 11th 2015 :p

Either way holy shit ep4 was insane. Edge of my seat the entire time. I realy have fell in love with this series. I kinda hope they do a season 2. But it's a shame I heard that if they carry on it will be without Max. I'll miss her!

Do you think that being able to save Alyssa so many times is going to have any impact on the finale? Or is it all a running joke?

What if Rachel met Max and convinced her to come back to Arcadia Bay to save Chloe/The world and then somehow rewound time so that Max knew to go back but didn't know Rachel? Kinda plausable?

I think it's a running joke. And I haven't saved Alyssa every time, unfortunately.

FOR FUCKS SAKE! There comes a time when you have to call the cops, like when you find a sex dungeon with evidence that girls have been drugged and taken against their will OR WHEN YOU FIND A FUCKING DEAD BODY.
.

LOL!!! I laugh because I was thinking the same thing. But then again, I was like "Max and Chloe have dirt on their hands too so...."

Life is Strange Season 2: Orange Is The New Black: Season 1

I would play the hell out of that!
Last episode would be a daring prison break with Shawshank ending

They can't go to the cops anymore, they're in too deep. They broke into Frank's trailer, Blackwell, Nathan's room, Chloe's waving a loaded gun around in peoples' faces, and they're both playing vigilante hero. Sure, they should report finding a dead body, but it will likely result in Max being expelled and possibly up for criminal charges on multiple counts of breaking and entering, weapons charges, etc

They could at least have gone to Chloe's dad

They could at least have gone to Chloe's dad

You mean step-douche? The guy who according to Chloe made her life miserable?

It would have been a great idea, yes, but I don't think Chloe would have wanted that.

I think with dead body of her lover, and crazy sex dungeon, Max could have convinced her. Or called and told him herself while Chloe left on her revenge trip.

This video makes me question everything about myself in real life. Like how could she be so ON POINT months and episodes in advance, while I only judge people with surface issues?

Maybe I'm (the real life mckmas8808 and not Max) the bad guy. :(

Yeah, that video and the "Jefferson = Creepy" video made me feel really shallow, like shit, some people really look deeply into a story, while I just come along for the ride :(
I mean, it took me until the damned Vortex Club party to go "waaait a minute, could it be Mr. Jefferson?!" and felt half-proud I'd figured it out before he revealed himself in the ending of Ep4...

Damnit :(

Holy smokes, the entire time in the alternative timeline was heart wrenching.

Haven't felt so emotional playing a game in a long, long time. That decision...I don't want to say what I chose, but damn...I did not expect the game to even offer such a choice and for it to be handled so well.

Fuck. I had to stop playing after Max got back to her timeline. I'm just not ready to continue playing right now.

The alt timeline literally made me stop playing it. I subconsciously didn't want to play something that sad, so found other things to do rather than play Life is Strange. Then I just said "F it" and played through it (not realizing that it was only like 30 minutes long).

I was so happy to get out of the Alt timeline. It's just overly sad and depressing. I have NO CLUE how I'm going to be able to deal with something like this if it happens to my parents

:(

I really cant stop thinking about this game. Ive been playing games for over 15 years, and have never experienced such attachment to a game. I can't wait for episode 5.
