[The Witcher 3] Modding "The Witcher 3". Mods and discussion within

Thanks, I'll try it later today. Hopefully it works, having the game "bug" after 5 minutes of cutscene or a long walk between checkpoints is a pain. Happen to me almost everyday. I have to do quick saves all the time to make sure I don't lose too much progress.
I want to assume you tried playing without Cheat Engine? I use to have crashes often but it was related to memory issues. I upgraded to 16 GB ram from 8 GB ram. That solved my game crashing issues. Anyways good luck in solving the issue, hopefully everything works out for you!

I don't want to play without it :(, I really hate having to deal with the limited weight and armor/weapon degradation!

But my game did that weird "go back to the desktop but can't go back to the game" bug at least 2-3 times at the same spot during a cutscene yesterday, so when I tried again without CheatEngine, it worked fine.

And I don't feel like going from 8gb to 16gb just yet. It's enough for games now as it is.

Hope more work gets done on playing as Ciri. Would love to play thru the whole game as her.

That would make for a weird playthrough no? Playing as Ciri and during dialogues or cutscenes, you see Geralt or Ciri speak with his voice?

Did it help downloading the latest version btw?

Would love a mod that lets you use the overburdened camara while exploring, but still have the zoomed out camera for combat.

Another way of looking it this would be to allow running while overburdened. This can work the same way like in indoor areas. So people should be able to look at the code while you're indoors, and also check how overburden camera switches to zoomed out when in combat.

Hey guys, got two questions for those more informed than me:
  • Is there any mod that unlocks the camera view so we can switch it between shoulder and center?
  • Is there any mod that let you change the fov?

The answer to both questions is Cheat Engine.

Cheat Engine gets a bad rap, it's a pretty legit program for a lot of PC games, I've used it a few times on The Witcher 3 with no ill effects.

I tried CheatEngine and those scripts, but I seem unable to make it work.
I'm actually not really sure if it's possible to use it to make the camera stay fixed in the center position, instead of going over the shoulder. Is that even possible?
I also don't really understand how to change the FOV in game and how to move the free cam around: I tried my movement keys, the cursor keys, the numpad (either with block num turned on and off), but it seems I can only manage to rotate it with the mouse.
Is anyone able to explain it to me, please?

To change the camera position, you activate Zanzer's "Adjust Camera Position" script which lets you specify the X,Y,Z coordinates you want the camera to be located at relative to Geralt.

To change the FOV, you have to use Jim's table, which is also linked to on that page, and activate his FOV script which lets you specify the degree value of the FOV you want.

Yeah, for some reason I am not able to make them work. I'll work on them some more later on and see if I can get it right. Thank you for your help.
Quick question by the way: does the camera stay fixed in that position once you enable it with Cheat Engine or does it shift when the game makes the transition from outside/inside or when switching to witcher senses?

All you should have to do is:
- download Zanzer's cheat table and Jim2point0's cheat table for The Witcher 3 (also just a heads up, Jim's table might not be updated for 1.07, so in that case you might be sol)
- download Cheat Engine and run the x64 version
- click the menu button that lets you hook into an application and choose the Witcher 3 process
- click the menu button that lets you choose a cheat table, and navigate to Zanzer's table
- click the menu button that lets you choose a cheat table again, and navigate to Jim's table. CE will give you the option to merge Jim's table with the one you currently have open, which is Zanzer's
- Tick the two scripts you want - Adjust Camera Position and FOV
- Adjust the values for each of the scripts by double clicking on the integers until you get settings you like.

Last I checked, when using Adjust Camera Position the camera does NOT change when entering/exiting a building/becoming encumbered. It is locked at the coordinates you specified. However, the camera DOES change when you use Witcher vision, which is kind of annoying, but hey, nothing's perfect.

Example of moving the camera a bit closer:

Nice, I'm definitely getting that. I used Immersive UI for Skyrim as well.

Oh crap I didn't even realize you can turn off all that motion blur in Witcher sense.

I don't have this for PC but I am just curious. Is that person in the image above using a Ciri mod that allows them to wear Geralt's armour?

I think it could make for a more amusing second playthrough, especially if Ciri's model is able to lip sync Geralt's voice work well. Haven't messed around with the existing 'play as Ciri during the Geralt parts of the game' option though so I'm not sure what's already possible there.

We need a free camera mod now.

Close cam, just tried it:

Anyone here know anything about this tweet here

https://twitter.com/Marcin360/status/632182348260470784

and the problems people are having with it. It sounds like this is nowhere near as good of a mod toolkit as we were promised and I was wondering if anyone here knew anything else about this.

Yeah I heard it's a bit limited and not the full Redkit like they promised. They might change their minds.

Is it likely that someone will do a mod that overlays DS4 buttons over the UI prompts? I've heard that it's only got 360/XB1 overlays atm.

I'm still on my first playthrough, so I'm trying to refrain from modding it up, but Main Map Zoom is testing my resolve.

I really hate that you can't zoom the map out very far without switching to the "overworld" map, so I think I might have to give this a look.

That looks nice. I really hope some modder can get rid of the black border and make the map fullscreen, though. I still don't understand the reasoning for that massive border.

I've looked through what the extract pulls out and it doesn't seem any UI elements are included unfortunately.
