Has Atlus ever developed a game for PC?
Persona 1 was on PC if that counts, JP only though.
Edit: It was ported by ASCII Corporation.

Haha there is a definite p3 experience it's called FeMC on P3P. Idc what those nerds at Atlus sayMight be because the games are kind of in a weird spot there. There's no definitive version of Persona 3, so a port is unlikely. Persona 4 Golden is Vita exclusive right now. And it's entirely possible they might be worried about piracy and/or don't think there is a market and/or there are technical issues regarding Persona 5. To say nothing of the older titles.
It does seem like a missed opportunity, you're right. Especially in light of the Falcom and NIS games up there on Steam.
Just to snipe down the 5% of people who were holding onto a glimpse of hope.

Atlus Japan has pretty old school thinking. Looks like they weren't swayed at all by Square Enix's PC support, Sega's PC support (the owners!), or NIS's pledge to support PC in the future.
All right, post your grief here where Atlus Japan can feed off of your despair, or mock Atlus while Tecmo Koei ports their entire library over in a year, or something.
Sounds like a Sony moneyhat.
Buy it on PS3/PS4 if you want to play it I guess.
VitaTV should solve this problem, or a PS3.
I've already explained that the existence of a PS4 version is what makes me think there's a deal in place for the title. I don't know what's going on for sure with the game. My original comment was more or less thinking outloud on what could be going on behind the scenes. I've already acknowledged that it might just be Atlus not wanting a PC port.
One month later, and Persona 5 was announced for the PS4.“Sega released Yakuza at the PlayStation 4’s launch, so they have some know-how when it comes to making software for the current generation consoles, which I believe we can share as needed,” says Sugino.
He continues, “Compared to Atlus, Sega are on a much bigger scale [as developers], and our respective know-how is completely different. They’re much more advanced than us when it comes to tools and middleware.”
Sugino also explains that if you look at the bigger picture, the Sega Sammy group has various small companies within it, all with their own expertise; so if Atlus felt the need to get something done a certain way, they could always ask Sega Sammy.
That aside, can't say much. There might be a PC port in the future if Sega forces Atlus. Plus with the demand, there's money to be made Atlus.
This continues to piss me off, honestly.About as likely as me getting struck by lightning today.
Their "survey" demanded that you pay an extra tax for voices on top of their Atlus Tax, should such a thing ever happen.

Given there is absolutely no precedent for this, why would anyone in their right mind expect Persona 5 to come to PC? It's like the people who thought Bloodborne would come to PC. It's never gonna happen. Get over it.

Other, much smaller, companies are able to consistently offer dual audio in all their titles without any extra cost. And yet other, equally large and larger companies also seem to have no trouble with it these days.
If you're behind frigging Namco, Nintendo and Square-Enix in providing a feature your fans want then it's really time to think long and hard about what you're doing.
Sega is heavily invested into PC games and JRPGs have been pretty popular on Steam. There were people expecting a PC port? Why?
381,683 - 413,057 according to steamspy. Not the best comparison I know but how well did PC FFXIII do?
So there's a chance????

The trouble with Sega trying to force them (or doing the port outside of Atlus) is that it would be Sega Japan doing the forcing. They haven't exactly been great at porting Japanese developed games to the PC either.

210,348 - 233,810 for XIII-2
A PC port is as likely as a timely EU release.
Sega do something!
I kind of got in trouble once for making a definitive statement about something I didn't have full knowledge of, that then turned into a few news articles.

Name a Persona or SMT game that's on PC other than the mmo's.
And that's years late too. Hence why I'm going to be keeping a close eye on Tales of Zestiria on Steam Spy instead when it hits. It depends on pricing, launch timing and promotion.
Get with the times Atlus. Other JRPG companies are making bank on PC. I mean even fucking Namco is releasing on PC. NAMCO.
I'd say that the perceived prestige of the title will make a lot of difference as well. Valkyria Chronicles is a good example of this, and there aren't a lot of JRPGs with more prestige than the Persona games. And that's years late too. I doubt that Atlus USA's experience on PC will have any bearing on what Atlus Japan decides to do. They're probably worrying more about actually releasing Persona 5 first, and then thinking about other releases afterwards. The Valkyria Chronicles experience tells them that there's no need to rush things.http://store.steampowered.com/search/?publisher=ATLUS
No, but they've published some bad games on Steam. I hope that's not affecting their decision making because these games are not good.

wait.. what? i thought they tried it and gave up on pc already. Look at cladun..
and is anyone actually surprised by this?
Hmm, that's why this thread made me a bit queasy tbh. Like it's grasping at straws.
These figures don't seem impressive, like, at all.
Barely 400k, despite occasional discounts, and not to mention the noticeable drop-off for the sequel too.
Lightning Returns will probably take forever just to reach 200k.

While I doubt Sony moneyhatted Atlus to prevent a PC release, it is my understanding that they did moneyhat Atlus to get the game to PS4. Atlus would have been perfectly happy to release this on PS3 only, they are one of the least risk taking companies when it comes to what platforms they publish their products on. Persona 3 came out only 5 months before the PS3 came out and Persona 4 came out a solid 2 years after the PS3 and Persona 5 would have came out after the release of the PS4 when it was originally due the end of last year.
We had the representative director and president of Atlus saying this a month before Persona 5 was announced for the PS4.“Sega released Yakuza at the PlayStation 4’s launch, so they have some know-how when it comes to making software for the current generation consoles, which I believe we can share as needed,” says Sugino.

Both were relatively poor ports at launch, especially FFXIII.These figures don't seem impressive, like, at all.

Crazy though this probably would sound to anybody at Namco, I'm expecting Tales of Zestiria to sell better on Steam than it does on PS3 & PS4.
