My post answered this, but I will clarify.

Activision is unlikely to release the full blown multiplayer component of the previous games
since that stands a good chance to affect sales of the current CoD release. Therefore I can see them releasing only the single player components of the Black Ops and Modern Warfare series in their own separate packages.

However, what I could see Activision doing to appease those is to release a mappack that collects the best maps from Black Ops and MW that would ONLY be playable on the new CoD that was getting released that year.

For example, lets say Activision released the Modern Warfare or Black Ops collection in September and come November when the Black Ops 3 came out those that purchased the collection would have access to exclusive maps (lets say 5-10) in Black Ops 3. Thoise maps would be a greatest hits collection if you will.

From a business standpoint this does two things: 1. it gives those who always buy the newest CoD an incentive to buy the older games AND it gives an incentive to gamers who may have stopped playing CoD an incentive to buy the newer titles.

Not exactly a pro-consumer thing, but from a business perspective I say it makes sense.

Not to mention there are plenty of petitions out there asking Activision to remaster Modern Warfare and MW2 for X1 and PS4. Activision is well aware that there is a groupd of dedicated gamers out there requesting them.

I can without hesitation say I would love a Black Ops collection.
 
Played through all of Shadow Complex, there was a bit of slow down every now and then but overall it ran pretty well. I'm impressed with BC so far.
 
Will probably be one of the later games to see if emulation works there.

Or they have implemented support for multi-disc games and are testing these.
 
Thinking of picking Red Dead Redemption up, in the hope it comes to BC soon.

What is the best version to buy? I'm thinking the Undead collection? Does this have everything on the disc, as I will be buying it pre-owned.

The undead collection is just the DLC, the game isn't included.

I'd say get the RDR game and the undead nightmare pack not the collection, the collection comes with multiplayer stuff. The undead nightmare pack is the story DLC and the one you want.
 
I think I need to go through my Xbox 360 and start copying any game saves to the cloud save thing I may play again in BC at some point. A lot (the important ones) are already there but playing PD:Zero on Rare Replay and remembering I had actually had an old save for it already on my 360 I could now use again if I copied it to the cloud showed me there was others I should probably do too.

That would be a good one to add, get everyone pumped for Catalyst. They could even have it as a GWG title at some point before release.


I'm REALLY hoping for RDR. Been craving playing through it again. Why oh why did I have to sell my 360...

If they use backwards compat to re-sell games then that's not working for PS4. If they re-release CoDs 1 - 4 - and by Jupiter I wish they would, then it's not going to be via a BC medium.
 
RDR2 announcement. Preorder now to get the first game for free via BC. Best time for such an announcement I would guess.
 
Wonder if the tweet means more than than the Gears stuff that was announced with Gears Ultimate or more stuff.

The tweet he is replying to mentions the next batch of games and RDR also. It would be nice to have RDR love but I'm not getting my hopes up just yet.
 
I put my Gears 3 disc into the xbox one and it said that game is not compatible. I am in the preview program, I thought we were able to play gears 3 already?

lol i dont think R* will base their announcement on BC.

The announcement of RDR2 will be grand itself. And wont just drop a trailer one day.

I think it'll just be announcing the next batch of games for preview members and more publishers who are going to support BC and Rockstar will be one of them.

Too soon, they still are working on GTA 5 Story DLC.

Maybe next year.
Besides I'm still hoping they will port/remake RDR on XBO/PS4/PC, I can dream.
 
Stoked to see what comes next. I have a stack of games in my backlog and I am needing to start another as my currently playing 360 game. This could direct what game I start next...

not only that, R* just saw a year old release of GTAV do a stupid amount of sales on current gen. Why would they pass on remastering RDR after seeing the potential there is for more sales?

not that BC shouldn't or couldn't happen but a remaster seems more likely

I thought I didn't already have enough games on backlog to go through. I don't think I will ever get to finish most of my games with the amount that's coming out for the fall plus and now I have BC to look forward to.

My life, it's fucking over.

But depends on which versions you have, of course. It also depends on how it's currently implemented in BC, maybe only US discs on US consoles work at the moment.
