and it unlocks 11am pdt 28GBsthats gonna take me 5 hours.
Don't care if this is so. I just want this to be a good port. The only thing I'm asking for.
No big deal.
Maybe a NZ VPN will let you guys download early.

i don't believe so, but don't take my word for it.Can you get banned on Steam for spoofing your IP to download something outside your region before it becomes available where you are?

think im done with preloads tbh
I download from Steam at 10mb/s and having to download on an HDD to decompress when its out and then decompress and move to the SSD yadda yadda
still shitty tho, specially for those with slower connections or caps
Release Phantom Pain 2 weeks ahead of time to coincide with console releases, still can't preload.
What?

LOL why?
Perfectly fine. Probably won't be that big, anyway. Maybe 70GB at most.
oh wait, so no IP spoofing needed? If this is indeed true, I'm fine because I have a fast enough connection to download it in about 1.5 hours.

Theoretically, haven't heard actual cases. IIRC the bigger issue is using a VPN to make purchases through Steam
doesn't seem like we need it anyway, judging from that tweet above.Yep, pretty much exactly this. They don't condone VPN-ing to unlock earlier but they won't ban you for it.

fuuuucking yes. i can be playing mgsv late afternoon on the 31st then.
Oh well, I work Tuesday and just got Fiber Internet. I'll have my GF download it for me.
Sucks for those wanting to play at 12 AM though.

Why not just create a Steam directory on your SSD?
Steam tends to max out my connection of ~15 MB down, so it's kind of irrelevant for my personal situation.
You can start downloads from your phone or internet browser.
