Forza Motorsport 6 has "wet weather, 3D puddles and night races" + more

Do we know if any of the returning tracks were laser scanned? Like Hockenheimring, Sonoma, Catalunya, Laguna Seca, Road Atlanta? Is there any info about it or maybe someone knows something? Helios?

Also, is it fair to assume, that all the new tracks were laser scanned? And by new I mean the ones that are first time in Forza like Monza, Brands Hatch, CotA, Daytona, Watkins Glen, Lime Rock Park

The old tracks most likely are the same, Hockenheim and Sonoma should be pretty accurate given they were captured for FM4, new tracks should definitely be laserscanned, some of them like Monza were leaked by the laserscanning company back in 2013.

I would really like to see more less common tracks, tracks we don't see in many games. Tracks like Zandvoort, Misano, Algarve, Paul Ricard, Imola, Zolder, Virginia Raceway or Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. I know it's highly unlikely that we'll get any of them as a DLC, if we gonna get any DLC tracks at all, but seeing at least some of them in next Forza would really make me happy. It would be great to have all the track to run proper IMSA or Blancpain series in Forza :)

Just getting my cheap MS £££ cards emailed so I can get the Ultimate edition sorted..

My XO Universal Hub turned up this week, so I've got a new rim on it, and it's all working well in FH2, so I think I'm just about set!

I was just boxing the TX Wheel up for storage and I have to say it's a damn fine wheel, the pedals are so-so, maybe I should sell it on, not much use gathering dust..

What do you think of the hub? It's pretty steep considering the BMW M3 wheel is only $250. I'll probably get it anyway

Just bought Ult. Ed. all the extras q'd up and installed in the blink.

Main game 44gbs in about 10 seconds lol, prob the real full pre-load will install closer to 9/10?

Forza 6 |OT| Forza Turns 10 it is.

Brilliant title drugstore. OT will be a big one this year since its 10 years. Might extend through post #2 maybe #3.

Driving Games are my favourite Genre and I have always wanted to maybe try a wheel (sit on my beanbag and put it on a table in front of me)...

Any good cheap wheels? Or are all the good ones $100+?

$300 is the cheapest

Unless you want a non ffb wheel, which kind of defeats the point. They are all sub $100

Thrustmaster may be coking out with a ~$200 ffb wheel but it's probably a ways off.

That's a surprisingly great V8 Supercar selection, huge step up from the one meager COTF in FM5. Seems weird that the only team with two cars in is Erebus, though...

Looks like they haven't changed the crappy trees or lighting at Bathurst. Shame.

Looking at this picture... I think lighting is a bit different (I think it was more orange/yellowish) and trees are a bit better than in Forza 5, but it was a long time since I played Forza 5 so I might be wrong ;)

Looks like it did get changed a bit, but nothing major.

Although not exact pics to make a proper comparison, there is a ton more detail in the far back round near the mountains. Instead of a flat looking ground going into the mountain, they added a lot more detail. Tree's do look better as well and lighting is slightly different. I hope they have an alternate time of day setting for the track as well.

I always find FMs metal shaders to be be off-putting. Something doesn't look right with those rims.

Yeah, it's baffling that even after they moved to PBR a lot of the materials still don't look right or realistic and some games nailed it even on lastgen.

It's probably by choice as part of the overall art style of the game. I'm sure if they wanted to turn 10 could have emulated GT's universally-praised lighting and colour pallette, saturation etc a long time ago, but then they'd lose the unique Forza look that distinguishes it from GT.

Nah, they've always said they're going for photorealism as well, and they have been improving with every title, but they're still not even close to what PD was doing even as far back as 2007 in GT5 Prologue.

For a newcomer like me, would the Thrustmaster Ferrari 458 Spyder be a good wheel for use with FM5, FH2 and FM6?

It's available for 89USD at my local store. I know it's lacking FF, but considering that I'm not a hardcore-gamer, would it really mean that much?

I have it as well as the tx and I can definitely recommend it, I really enjoyed my time with it but just know that it will probably lead you into a full tx path.

Haha, well, that's a different price league to be honest. Last time I had a wheel was when it was plugged into the sound cards game port (which is quite some years ago).

But after playing GT5/GT6 with a controller, there's no way around it.. To really enjoy racing games, it's all about the wheel!

Do all racing games support all wheels or is it based on what the developer chooses?

Only tried the two thrustmaster wheels with forza 5, horizon 2 and the crew. Need for Speed rivals doesn't support wheels at all so didn't bother trying it.

Ok, so it's up to the developer to support wheels?

I'd assume though, that most of the more sim-like racing games do, so it's all good.

Thanks for the answers:)

The lighting looks nicer in those new shots. I suppose it is natural for final touches on post-process to come last.

Don't know if it has been posted but if not, it seems like we know the weather conditions for each track:
