okay, that whip/sword thing is stupid.

had something of a Rising 2.

and that there were more advanced Metal Gears before is Rex is kinda weird too.
 
I didn't like it simply because normally you either get a lame trailer or a good one that shows a little too much. This somehow managed both, and per my previous post I really didn't think they could hit you over the head with the devil imagery anymore but they've succeeded.

I think the running joke of the MGS series that Rex (well Metal Gears in general) is pretty much the weakest and least important world ending super weapon in the series.
 
That Metal Gear is insane. I suppose it's continuing the Peace Walker tradition but god damn, we Gundam now. I'm also now wondering whether Metal Gear is in the same universe as ZOE.

Seriously, don't watch if you don't want any spoilers. The video may trick you into thinking that he's just reusing footage from the older games, and from this game that they've released before. But they definitely haven't released that and it seems like it could be a major plotpoint.

It wasn't a very good trailer overall really, but then again it was just edited footage done by one guy, as opposed to the other showreels that we get in video games where studios invest tens of thousands of dollars and have their entire staff working on it for weeks. This is just the standard of what you can do with capture software and Final Cut Pro, not necessarily creating actual new environments and assets which you get for many of the most stunning trailers.

It's way less than standard and from a guy who hypes his own trailer by posting a workstation dedicated to editing, I expect more. Not to mention he has access to all clean sounds and voice overs of all the games, all the video footage he wants, which is gold for any editor. This was just extremely cheap and weak, to read that this is the best trailer of MGS (or even good) is beyond my understanding. It's ok to be blinded by hype but let's not exaggerate here.
 
I still laugh at the people who said this Metal Gear would be more down to earth and realistic.

Look at that fucking Metal Gear with a sword-whip. XD

Makes me think something is going to happen to that particular design of MG that makes it so they can't build anymore in the future. Cause that looks like some shit outta Xenoblade
 
I see nothing wrong with this. Besides, you all should know what to expect too. Didn't he show off Shadow Moses in the launch trailer for MGS4?

we all knew what REX/RAY/Shagohod looked like well before the games released.

Might as well be. ZOE is so far in the future it wouldn't affect anything if it was.

Hmm I think some people is taking that "spoiler" a bit too serious, it's more like a message of how big boss is becmoing ideologically (which has been shown before) than what some people think it is lol
 
With regards to the name of that metal gear looked on wiki about when it was discovered

All known material of Sahelanthropus were found between July 2001 and March 2002....So would this be from a time jump? Or might be looking into this too much
 
I'd be even more upset about that spoiler if it weren't implied in the last trailers. But yeah, the spoilers in this trump mgs4 "did you rike it" trailer.

Don't take it at face value.

Big Boss is dead so he can't come back in time to be Skull Face
, not to mention Kojima would never reveal in a trailer such a huge surprise, it's not happening, I will bet my house on it.

Big Boss is turning into bad guy, the antagonist of the future games. Not that he's actually turning into Skullface. That wouldn't make sense given we've seen them both at the same time in the same place.

man i just watched, the transition from phantom pain graphic to mgs1 made me almost choke and cry man! goosebumps as they showed scenes from mgs1-4 and the new metal gear, holy fuck! it was awesome and scary! and skullface/big boss WTF moment!!! and did u see psycho mantis at 3.55 in the sky???? i mean awesomeeeeeeeeee

I don't know if this was mentioned before, but Mr. Kojima screwed up Metal Gear RAY's description.

RAY was not nuclear. It didn't carry nuclear warheads. It was an anti-Metal Gear vehicle.

Kojima fucked up. Disappointing trailer, blew their load too early with all the E3 trailers. Will wait for a discount.

Exactly, it's all there is to it, it shows war corrupt, and no one is good, that's it.
 
As stated in either this, (or the other thread.)

A lot of the technology found in this time period stopped and was suppressed by the Patriots.

It wasn't until the fall of the Patriots that all the information was leaked.

This lead to the rush in technology again post-MGS4 and lead to the events and era of Rising.
