R.Mika confirmed for Street Fighter V

This thread and the majority of the reactions in here make me happy. This is what gaming should be about. Boundless enthusiasm and posters respectfully (for the most part) disagreeing with each other.

Just wanted to come in here and say that.
 
Hahaha yessssss another grappler finally!!! Really glad she's back and I hope the Karin, Alex and Urien rumor is true since they're the ones I want most in instead of another SF2 character(love them to death but save them for after the initial core 16 roster). Perfect V-Trigger for her imo and it makes perfect sense so good job Ono and the SFV team on choosing an assist character for her. Also her V-Skill is pretty f'in awesome lol, talking shit basically gives her a buff based on how long it's held, has 1 hit of armor AND she can cancel it out with a mic toss? LOL! Definitely gonna try to main her if Alex isn't in.....though I must see how the 3 newer characters are before I decide.

I'm not saying people shouldn't like it. I just wish the outfit was a little better. A little less cringeworthy. I feel the same about Cammy, who shares none of the wackiness.

It's her outfit that's embarrassing. That's all.

Yeah I love everything about Mika but I do hope they have something more conservative as an alt-costume so others have the chance to enjoy how she plays. Everyone would win.

First, this avatar is the result of a lost avatar bet. I'm really upset with having this...guy there. I'm not happy. Just another week and a half to go...

But yeah, women can be powerful and fun. Ah, it's all semantics now. It was just the outfit I took issue with and it's beaten into the ground. I'll shut up now. Good post though, you like the good shit! Alundra Blayze was one of my favorites growing up. Bull Nakano as well, such a fucking badass!

In terms of story, it sort of make sense. She has the body of an american girl, and behaves like a Joshi wrestler. It's just that the huge majority of Joshi wrestlers aren't that developed up there (to put it like this), but when you see the history of this sport, here and there, some would have shown as much (maybe less for the ass because it's not as practical).

The article first posts that it was a female presenter who hid her eyes at the sight of the exposed male character. (The following is just a collection of thoughts. I'm not actively engaged in a war or back and forth on the subject, or even know my own position, so nobody bite!)

Could it be that both women and men are more comfortable with women wearing exposing clothing compared to men?

Here's something that bothers me a bit.. I just moved to a college town.
Young women everywhere, young men too. But the young women are almost universally wearing "shorts" in which you can quite actually see the cleave between their ass and their thighs, when they walk. Men don't care to do that, even if it would be sexually exciting to women.

Are they comfortable with that? I mean, I understand that it's your right to wear what you want, and apparently they do want that, and maybe it's because I'm from an older generation than them, but I think that sort of outfit is far too sexual. When I'm walking behind these girls, (I'm a straight male) of course my thoughts are immediately sexual, and wouldn't let my daughter dress like that without her understanding how provocative it can appear.

If it's not these ass length shorts, it's those super tight, thin legging pants and a thong, because you can see every contour and the thousands of microvibrations that are happening with every step they take. They may as well have painted their legs and went out pantless. I feel like I'm seeing parts of them that I would normally have to get them into the bedroom to see.

These are outfits I'd consider sleep wear, but this is apparently the norm for a professional educational environment now.. In some sense I don't want to complain. I mean I certainly enjoy, in a sexual way, seeing that, but it's kind of exhausting in that I personally wouldn't want to see that in girlfriend material.. Maybe if I were just hunting for a piece of ass, but if I wanted to look for a mate in modern human culture, I'd go for a girl with a little more class. But my point, I think, is that these women go out every day choosing to dress like this.

Maybe fictional women are overly sexualized because most women just don't care, or worse, actively sexualize themselves. I feel for the ladies who have a little more class than that.

As for fictional characters, I don't think there's a problem with sexy male or female characters. It's certainly exhausting when that's all you see though.

She looks.. At this point, she looks exactly how I'd imagine Capcom would make her. They're really going all in with their voluptuous boob femmes for SFV apparently

EDIT: Thread devolves into discussion over sexualization/objectification of women, finding offense where there is none. Not surprised.
 
I like how Microsoft was against adding Orchid's KI2 costume to the new KI whilst Capcom simply doesn't care any sensibilities like that. :)

It's really telling that when it comes to PC mods, usually the first course of action is to strip women. When given the power to do anything they want in a game, tearing off women's clothes is always a priority.

Nobody is happier than me for R.Mika finally being in and I couldn't wait for the objectification/sexualization of women arguments. That said this sort of zany over the topness is what I love about fighting games.

Also I find it funny when people say they can't play X character in front of women. I've played fighting games for years in front of all manner of people and nobody has ever had a problem with any of the characters. Not even when MK9 came out.

Anyways with R.Mika in I'm finally hype to play SF5. I was waiting for a character I could be excited to play.
