That feel following GameXPlain and they haven't tweeted in over a half hour. This Alek Fleischer guy is also live tweeting but stopped when he went to go wait in line for Runbow.

So is...anyone livestreaming/tweeting? Why the hell is no one doing anything about this? Especially when something huge like an indie getting an amiibo and maybe smash support is happening?
 
so this might be a coincidence but I just went to power on my Wii U and got one of those eShop gamepad advertisements that was advertising Smash DLC "Have you seen the latest downloadable content?"

maybe they are preparing for something after all...?

I mean, I'm not super angry at them, but yeah. Co-op's definitely way too big to lock behind a figurine that'll almost certainly sell out in minutes. Still, I'm proud of YCG for being the first company to make an Amiibo! I'm just not a fan of what it does.

It's not; it's a golden base, but it's a Shovel Knight emblem on it.

Nindies@Night is over, but PAX hasn't even started yet... We may not be seeing Shovel Knight, but I'll be surprised if we don't see anything. Even if it's just another batch of Mii Fighters costumes based on characters people wanted to get in, like Wonder Red or Isaac.

But if they were gonna announce Shovel Knight for the August 31st update, they would have done it tonight. Either the leak was fake, or we're gonna have to wait until September or October to find out for sure.

Sakurai hadn't told people to look out for anything. The leakers who leaked the Amiibo claimed he'd be announced at PAX. I don't think the wait will be too long.

I mean, what else would they put up August 31st? I feel like if it were just stages or miis, they'd just announce their release date on twitter like they did the last ones.

Keep the eyes out for any tweets from Nintendo or Sakurai. It's possible that they could say something tomorrow. Who know?!

Snake added to the game for free as an unlock. No one can find how to unlock him, and when they dump the files they find nothing abnormal.

Eventually as someone is playing weeks later, Snake shows up and challenges someone unexpectedly. They take to the Internet, but no one believes them.

His splash trailer will say "Snake sneaks in!"...how to unlock him in Smash is left as clues in MGSV, but no one gets it for months.

Sorry if I disappointed you, but this isn't happening.

I don't think they ever said PAX would be the place, just that we'd know in the next month or two. And for all we know, the August 31st maintenance check could be just for doing stability checks on the servers.

Christopher Robin Miller did record some lines that seemed like they could be for Smash to him, but he's unsure about what said lines are actually for.
