Forza Motorsport 6 has "wet weather, 3D puddles and night races" + more

Got my TX and wheel stand up and running. I expected a learning curve, but I'm glad I have 2 weeks or so to make the adjustment.

Do you guys think Forza 6 is worth buying an Xbone and a wheel ?

I do.

Can anyone tell me whats with the F&F DLC deal on Xbox live?
It says if you buy F&F7 or the collection, you will get Dom's car for free.

I thought all F&F cars for Forza are already in the dlc which everyone will get?...

Digital pre-orders get a F&F pack, but I don't think we know exactly what's in it. The Dom's Charger offer is confusing either way.

Only the Deluxe and Ultimate editions. So I'm guessing the offer is for people with the standard edition, they can get Dom's Charger without buying the pack separately.

Anyone get a chance to use the limited edition Forza controller yet at one of the various game shows? If so, does the new grip make much of a difference?

I believe Raceroom now hold the DTM License and its a very strict one. PCars was planning on including DTM but had to scrap it due to their licensing deal. I assume thats why we wont be seeing that M3 DTM returning :(

Shame. I always had a soft spot for the 2005-2008 Red Bull A4 DTMs after seeing one in Race Driver: Create & Race.

boy, the reviews for the thustmaster TX on amazon are frightening. Lots of dead wheels. has their quality control gotten better?

I've had mine since January 2014 with heavy use and no issues.

But Drugstore_Cowboy had his TX die, so I can't say its 100% reliable. But I will say its more reliable than Fanatec was last Gen. Also my wheel was a second batch shipment where batch 1 seemed to have the most issues.

My anecdotal impression is that Thrustmaster products have higher failure rates. Every first-gen product has hardware failures, it's just that people will only be vocal about problems, not trouble-free use. I've had my Fanatec GT2 and CSPs for around four years with regular heavy use. I just had a microswitch fail on one of the shifters and just had to replace the load cell on the brake pedal. I'd say that's not too bad all things considered.

PWTS and GT2 were great it was the club sport V1 and the csr wheels I was referring to. For whatever reason there was a huge drop in their control during that time period.

So are we saying the chances are high for DLC of current tracks with different 'pre-baked' weather and time of day/night settings????......the thought of them charging for this makes me sick and feel that every track in the retail packaging should of had dry, wet and raining along with dawn, day, dusk and night variations.....but I guess it's just a way for Turn 10 to print money and release different variations of tracks down the line :-(

I don't think these are likely, the tracks with night/rain have their detail and lods scaled back accordingly to accommodate the increased GPU load, tracks that are only dry probably aren't built with those conditions in mind.

Like actually sick?

I doubt they could have fitted those variations for every track on a single disk.

it could have if the hardware was better and they could do dynamic weather and day changes. Pcars does it, but takes a framerate hit. Reality is that is takes work to do track variants for all these conditions, wouldn't offend me to pay for some.

I'm not at all into rain and night driving, and also frankly I don't see all that much of a graphics upgrade from Forza 5,so do you guys think 6 might be worth getting?

Besides must say I'm disappointed that after all the whoopla around dx12 the engine wasn't updated.
Cheers

Well if the visuals are all you care about then, I guess not... But the game is most definitely an upgrade over 5 in a number of ways, including the visuals.

A frame rate and a resolution hit.

Xbox One could have a 1080p/60 racing game with dynamic lighting but the game would be low on detail and have smaller fields in the races. It's a matter as always of deciding on priorities and that's the same on any platform and always has been.

Anyword on the download ?? Mine as said 44G for a few weeks but now says 0G, it would be nice if the X1 had some sort of symbol on the dash to let you know when its downloading game content.

After a console update, preloaded games won't show the right size or sometine you can't even manage the game.
There was a console update yesterday if you are in the update preview.

Restarting the console from the power settings fixes that, now my game is 44GB.

Well, I bought £85 of Live points from Very.co.uk using a £30 refund code so only came to £55. Not a bad price for the Ultimate Edition! I really couldn't justify the £82 price tag otherwise.
Looking forward to it though maybe I will still be playing MGSV?

Where is the refund code? Can you help me get this cheap?

Regarding the 3 digital bundles for this game, are the Deluxe and Ultimate editions worth it over the standard edition when taking into account the extra cash each one is?

The Deluxe edition only includes the...

Fast & Furious pack.
Forza Motorsport 6 VIP.

over the standard game and the Ultimate edition includes the above plus...

Forza Motorsport 6 Car Pass.

To be fair i think its a better deal to get the standard edition and get the season pass when its release (it cant be more the £15?)

The game will progress faster with VIP membership since you get cash and XP boosts. There are also events that can only be played by VIP members and they send exclusive cars and liveries as well. What I usually do is buy the deluxe edition of a Forza game then buy the car pass when it goes on sale.

Well to be fair if im going to get the Deluxe edition then i might as well stump up the extra 5 quid and get the Ultimate edition!

It really irks me that even for £80-odd, you still don't get all of the content. 6 months of car packs, but more will come out. Same went for Horizon 2 - I bought the car pass in a sale, clicked on some DLC cars, and they were still locked.

I don't like to feel like I'm not getting the 'full' game. Puts me right off. Especially for that sort of money. VIP launch cars can fuck off too - that's content that is available at launch, but they're not giving me because I preordered the 'cheap' (£50) edition. AAndin Forza 5, one of these cars was the Veyron - possibly the most iconic car of the last decade - paywalled by a £10 or £15 (I forget how much) DLC pack.

Would like to pick this up but honestly, I already have a console and I don't need 2 of them. Kinda curious who's the target audience for this? Hardcore fans jumped in with F5 or at least with Horizon 2. Anybody here grabbing this?

People who just got a job that pays enough. People who skipped 5 and bought FH2 on 360. Switchers. Collectors. Rich people. People who want multiple consoles for different rooms or locations. People who like the looks and will trade up for it. Latecomers.

Wow, how did I miss the demo news!!!

Lovely.. just 1 more day and I'll start to get a feel for FM6 and see how the handling/force feedback stack up!

Haven't checked for quite a while on FM6 car list updates, can somebody give me a link to a list that marks the FM6 cars that haven't been in any form (not DLC, not VIP or anything) in an Xbox One Forza game?

Thanx
