After the doldrums of summer the new releases begin to arrive and sees the start of a busy release calendar right up until early December.

Kicking us off this week we have 5 new releases within the Top 10 and 4 of those arrive at the top of the chart. New at No1 is Microsoft’s Xbox One ‘Gears of War: Ultimate Edition’ - this is the original 2006 Xbox 360 Gears of War remastered and a first outing on Xbox One, also including access to the Gears of War 4 beta in 2016. Debuting at No2 is Sony’s survival horror ‘Until Dawn’ for PS4 by Supermassive, a UK indie that has specialised in Sony platforms. Debuting at No3 is Disney’s ‘Disney Infinity 3.0’, the first of 3 hybrid toy franchises due over the next few weeks. EA debut at No4 with ‘Madden NFL 16’ and last week’s No1, Warner’s ‘LEGO Jurassic World’ drops to No5 (+2%). The 5th new release of the week is Bethesda’s PS4/Xbox One ‘Dishonored: Definitive Edition’ which debuts at No7, in advance of a full Dishonored 2 update, scheduled for some time in 2016. There’s one more new release within the Top 40 and that is Bandai Namco’s ‘One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3’at No27 for Vita, PS3 & PS4.

Expected decent Gears performance in UK coupled with decent price. Surprised to see Until Dawn at 2 figured it would be lower. Position wise that's a good place although without units it's hard to say either titles sold well.

PS4 reclaiming bulk of top 10 for current gen too.

Charts should be interesting for a while again with big titles starting to hit with MGS5.

Madden at No.3???

I like what I see, Madden doing well in the UK and FIFA doing well in the US.
 
Does Disney Infinity sell well? Quite impressed Until Dawn sold more when Infinity is multiplat (and Madden). Would love some numbers.
 
Regarding toys to life I wonder if LEGO dimensions and Skylanders will show similar platform trends. Notably how the 360 version outsells the XBO version and the PS4 version outsells the PS3 one. That suggests that 360 owners didn't move on as much as PS3 owners did which has been seen before many times.

Toys to life is become increasingly crowded but there is a lot more content to come for Disney so it might sell better later on. Especially when it comes to Christmas.
 
I didn't realise that Disney Infinity 3 is a free download if you own one of the previous bases and games. That would have factored into it.
 
One Piece should have come out earlier in the summer. It's certainly not a big seller in the UK by any stretch but would have given it more room... to sell better. Releasing it now amongst the tide of new releases was daft. But that's the same always with publishers mainly ignoring summer months.
 
Absolutely great news for Until Dawn debuting second in the UK. Not surprised that Gears steals first place given it's such a fan favorite and really good value.

Hopefully Until Dawn is successful in every region. What a game.
 
Congrats to the Coalition and to MS, really enjoying my time spent with UE so far and haven't even jumped into a MP match, yet!

Also a special congrats to Super Massive Games and Sony, breaking a successful new IP is a tough gig but by all accounts its a cracking little game, will be interesting to see what games have legs over the next few months?
 
Wonder how big the MGS gap will be next week. Plus with PS4 bundles and LE console and no sign? of MS putting any free MGS with every Xbox promotion out, it should be very one sided. 80:20 perhaps?

MGS V on PS4 should sell AT LEAST triple than the XBO version, considering Batman has sold double.

Great first week for Madden, but I would expect it to drop like a stone in the chart. NFL seems to have a loyal if small fan base in the UK.

Good to see Gears and Until Dawn at the top of the chart. Also Last of Us has had some great legs.

Its hard to tell without sales numbers, but the multi platform titles seem to have a growing split on PS4.
 
A ridiculously one sided ratio in favor of the PS4 version for MGSV won't surprise me. Btw, Devil's Third debuts at #8 on the WiiU only chart... not good.

Did anyone expect much more from a game that is seriously overpriced at launch (£50 RRP), reviewing poorly and whose worst competition is its soon to be released f2p version (especially as that is the the best part; the multiplayer). Hey at least it didn't disgrace itself too much by the fact it outsold Fifa 13.

MGS is, like FF a PS franchise at heart and that's where the majority of fans are. With a superior version, coupled with PS4 bundles, I'm not sure 80:20 is all that crazy. When the Witcher leads heavily of PS and most other titles, a heavily skewed PS franchise could be a bloodbath. If it was 60:40 I think MS would be very, very happy with that all things considered.

Which means it probably did some hundreds, yay!

8th in the Wii U specific chart probably means it didn't even sell 1,000 copies
 
Wow... Xbone multiplats falling well behind PS4 this week across the board for some reason.

Looks like Until Dawn could be set to do well for itself, but Oneechanbara Z2 doesn't even make the charts? UK... what the fuck are you doing?
 
Do we have any range for Until Dawn? I am expecting >10k considering last week i think #1 of the chart was around 5k.
 
The PS4 seems to be easily outdoing the xbone with multiplats which is a pretty bad sign. MS is pretty much only competitive in 2 regions and it seems like they're falling behind there as well.
