The Media capabilities... Never had a problem so far with any format. Works with MKV and AVI, formats even the PS3 couldn't do (as far as I know).

The 4K support... For movies it could always come in a future update (if it is possible on a technical level)... but for games, forget it.
 
Are we not going to be able to watch Youtube Gaming on the PS4? Seems odd to implement the ability to stream without being able to watch.
 
Very nice update. None of it benefits me hugely unfortunately. Australias internet eats shit for streaming, I was nowhere near my 1GB plus limit anyway and the community stuff has never been my thing.

But objectively its clearly one of the best updates they've done.

More PS+ storage and png screenshots are really nice.
Can't say I care much about the other features but I'm sure some people will enjoy them.

Give me folders, friend notifications, an option to appear offline and a real performance/stability update and I'm happy with the OS
 
I suspect there will also be a lot of minor fixes that they won't announce, but are there. Like mass deleting upload notifications. At least I hope.
 
Looks like a pretty solid update. I just wish they would add the ability to "Sign In Invisible/Appear Offline."

I also wouldn't mind if they wanted to rip the xbone's live preview of a currently running app overlaid on top of its icon.
 
Came into this thead expecting no folders and to be pissed off.

...but...

10GB storage and PNG screenshots are a hell of a consolation prize. Well done Sony, good update.
 
The youtube thing is super smart. I have a feeling this won't be coming to Xbox One anytime soon, give how the YouTube app there is extremely poor. It looks like it was built once, and never updated.

4K support for games is more than possible, you just wouldn't see many games support it so they likely won't bother. I believe the Trine 2 devs said if the PS4 allowed them to output at 4K, they could have (At 30fps though afair)
 
10GB! Thank God. Now my notifications won't be filled daily with 50 games that failed to update cloud save.

Glad to see they funneled some of the PSN Plus income to buy some more HDD.

Pretty decent list although I won't be touching most of the community/social stuff (being anti-social).

But 10GB! Thank fuck. Wonder how quickly I'll fill it up?
 
Oh shit at the community feature. We can have a PS4 NeoGAF community. We need to see how it works as beta testers (Crossing fingers I'm chosen) could start testing it out as early as then to see if it can work on such a massive capacity. It might be like the Destiny clans I always wanted if there's also sub-communities (but that might be too much to ask for right now)
 
The online storage bump is nice and kind of overdue. Seemed like everyone has been hitting that 1GB cap for a while now. Youtube streaming is pretty neat too.

But where are the friend sign on/off notifications? :( I'm assuming it's not coming in 3.0 or else they probably would have mentioned it since it's often requested by people. Does anyone know what the problem is on why it's taking so long? It's getting kind of ridiculous at this point.
 
At this point I honestly can't think of many more things that I want, I'd be happy if all they did for the rest of the PS4's lifespan was improve the network

I have used the PS4 almost exclusively since launch and reckon I have deleted maybe 2 gigs in total. With a bit of maintenance it should be enough for most people. I could be talking outta my arse though, time will tell.

- Folders
- Improve the online
- Fix messaging (assuming it isn't fixed already)
- Add sub communities to the community (assuming it isn't a thing)
- Seriously I don't care how they do it make it so the process if the PS4 shuts off accidentally like say to a power outage while it's in rest mode doesn't require all the pain in the ass work.
