That's never been a problem before with destiny dlc.Godd, I've bought the expansion but I do not want community fragmentation in the Crucible. I hope they make those maps free for everyone in a few months.

These Destiny haters just flock like sheep and go in blind lol.
Can I use the automatic 25 boost for my Titan come the 8th?
I love this so much.
Here I was, waiting for September 15 to hit, but the fun really begins on September 8![]()
I might be more excited for the 2.0 update than TTK.
Don't do that (unless you really want to level grind again). Apparently there's gonna be a way to re-experience the main quest line as if you started over.Exactly! On Sept 8 I'll be deleting one of my barely started characters and starting the story over from scratch! I can't wait to experience it in its new form with the new quest system, new ghost voice, etc!
Still, it does suck that things like bounties and Trials of Osiris were paywalled with those expansions and now they're being redesigned and replaced behind a new paywall.
I'm in for Nolanbot.
Gonna start a Titan for the first time ever.
New crucible bounty/quest system is going to be a big part of TTK.
No one else mad about them retiring content?
We know they did this with the patrol events from DB to HoW but with TTK you will not be able to complete any queens wrath missions, so they are completely gone. What's the point of Petra and the reef now?
Look I am okay with seasonal things and retiring stuff for new content. What I am not okay is telling me the content I paid $20 to $40 for only granted me a couple of months access to that content.
Remember you won't have access to anymore Erris Morn bounties from Dark Below either it is all being moved to TTK. AGAIN, I am okay with general retiring of stuff when it's free and not paid content.
Games like Guild Wars have seasons and story lines that you have to be there for, but they don't charge for each season or episode.
Finally I'd be okay if the content from parts of Year 1 scaled or was actually worth a damn.
New players coming in will only have access to shitty story of Dark Below and the somewhat okay story in HoW but none of the other content. It shows to me that Bungie is fucking terrible at scaling the content.
The game should have been designed to lead people from vanilla to DB content being level 29 to 32 to HoW content being 31 to 34 etc or not even use that scale .
As it is, TTK starts at 25 or so, so why would anyone play or replay year one stuff. I feel like if you have a living game you shouldn't abandon your initial product but keep improving it and lord know they shouldn't be cutting any content.
I mean they could have kept one or two zones on the moon still running for DB missions and one or two zones on earth or Venus for HoW missions and then added in TTK to Mars and the new area.
So I am kind of miffed that Queens Wratg goes away. I also hope they go back and add some new challenges to old zones, raids and Arena.
I mean why the fuck would anyone play the arena now once TTK is out? So I paid $20 to play an expansion for ~5 months? This looks like a pattern and a shitty one at that.
Don't do that (unless you really want to level grind again). Apparently there's gonna be a way to re-experience the main quest line as if you started over.
Bungie specifically said they don't want old content to be relevant.
As far as bounties are concerned, who cares...
But are you saying you can't play Trials of Osiris anymore unless you buy TTK...??
Me too!!
Is this something you need to buy TTK to gain access to?
And no,the new crucible bounties are part of the normal 2.0 questification for EVERYONE.
This is all we knowWell my Titan is only level 2, so there is nothing lost... I need to level grind him anyways (and looking forward to it)...
But what do we know about the bolded part? I never heard about this before...
This is all we know

Urk is bungies community lead btw
What does this mean exactly? Are they pretending that TDB and HoW never happened? Their main activities (TDB Raid / POE / ToO) should continue to exist and have purpose... POE, for example, should have new difficulty modes added all the way up to level 40... what's stopping them?
We'll know soon enough!Hmmm... interesting! Well that's good for people who don't want to delete a high level character. Deleting my level 2 Titan is not even a thing.
But you could always replay the old missions... except for the intro. Which I also want to replay. I hope that's not all he means...
I'm pretty sure this is gonna be a server test for extra load as well since new players and returning players alike are gonna be coming with the taken kingGood deal. I look forward to trying out the new Crucible content next week. It was going to be a slow week in terms of PVE stuff anyway since everything changes when TTK hits. Good idea, Bungie.

I think it's better for everyone involved if everyone just pretends that Prison of Elders never happened. Easily worst end game content they have put into the game. That said I do think VoG and CE are raids that player really should see and experience at least once during their time with Destiny, good content with lore to be unlocked.
ToO is coming back in TTK, same with IB.
I need to get ready for the laggy fest because I expect more people playing than Iron Banner.
Amazing news btw.
Which they're sort of bringing back with infusion. With this system you can keep strong gear you want and dismantle weaker gear or use that strong gear to infuse your weaker gear making it stronger. No more need to farm etheric light.Actually, I don't agree. My fireteam has gotten more time and enjoyment out of PoE than we ever did out of Crota. We may be in the minority but we just don't enjoy most of that raid and especially the lame mechanics of Crota himself. (VoG is and always has been awesome, however)
It also helps that with weapon cores, armor cores and etheric light you can pretty much choose your own upgrade path as opposed to being at the mercy of the RNG for gear and upgrade materials.
In an interview someone(can't remember who) said they didn't want people to be overwhelmed with things to do like a checklist. That was the reason given for not updating the previous two raids or POE in content or loot.

the two problems i have with them going about it like this is that the raids are by far the coolest experiences in the game especially for a virgin, and the loot that they gave has been the majority of the time not surpassed by what came out after it - i know TTK is dealing with gear differently this time around, but it makes me worried. fatebringer/fang of ir yut/etc
Legendary Marks IV: That said, there are some pretty damn sweet Legendary weapons for sale in the Tower: Firefly/Luck in Chamber HC, anyone?
Bungie specifically said they don't want old content to be relevant.
Trials is taking a break after the release of TTK. We don't yet know when or how it will return. As far as bounties are concerned, who cares...
But are you saying you can't play Trials of Osiris anymore unless you buy TTK...??
I believe you're required to own TDB and HoW before you can purchase TTK by itself.Sooooo is there really no point in picking up the legendary edition since the two dlcs included are now apparently pointless to play through? Was thinking of giving Destiny a second chance after I got rid of my copy way back when but now I'm not so sure...
From the perspective of in-game rewards, the useful of the guns and armor that drop from those activities are substantially diminished relative to those introduced in TTK.Why do you think they're pointless to play through?
A lot of hoops to jump through, but good points.VoG and Crota will give you lots of shards/energy which can turn into motes of light.
Also all the items in there you get turn into motes of light/more shards/energy.
Motes of Light can be used to buy engrams from Xur or (new) to give XP to weapons/armor.

That's because POE is a much better experience than the Crota raid, which was essentially cheese central.Actually, I don't agree. My fireteam has gotten more time and enjoyment out of PoE than we ever did out of Crota. We may be in the minority but we just don't enjoy most of that raid and especially the lame mechanics of Crota himself. (VoG is and always has been awesome, however)

The raids won't become irrelevant. Putting aside the obvious fact that getting to experience those raids is awesome, you'll have a chance to acquire year 1 exotic weapons that are getting upgraded for Year 2 in those raids. What does this mean exactly? Are they pretending that TDB and HoW never happened? Their main activities (TDB Raid / POE / ToO) should continue to exist and have purpose... POE, for example, should have new difficulty modes added all the way up to level 40... what's stopping them?
btw guys, think about this:
VoG and Crota will give you lots of shards/energy which can turn into motes of light.
Also all the items in there you get turn into motes of light/more shards/energy.
Motes of Light can be used to buy engrams from Xur or (new) to give XP to weapons/armor.
So technically, doing VoG and Crota is NOT totally useless, it's actually a nice little way of getting guaranteed motes.
Actually never thought of it this way. Very interesting.

Don't think that's the case. One of the reasons they're doing this is because after 9/15, Crucible will be TTK exclusive. If you don't purchase it then you'll only have access to pre-TTK PvE content

If you are not into mp and just have the original launch game and don't plan to buy ttk does this give you an updated story and ghost voice anyway?
Will there be new trophies in TTK was dissapointed that the last two expansions didn't have any at all.
New progression system is in 2.0, but capped at 34. TTK raises the cap to 40.Quick question: Is the new leveling system tied to TTK? Can I level up my character to 40 without having the expansion?
I imagine, but you'd have to wait for TTK for the cap to be raised. Right now vanilla owners can get to 34 without HoW.Quick question: Is the new leveling system tied to TTK? Can I level up my character to 40 without having the expansion?
